  • Another great hunt. I had a great day by myself on a local marsh. As the tide dropped I had two wigeon on the left of the decoys and got one, the other turned back and I got that as well with the third shot. Then two wigeon with two shots. A double! On teal. Another double, on wigeon. Another teal. Two more wigeon with two shots. Then lots of single wigeon. Ending up with 9 wigeon and 3 teal. Using 1-1/4oz steel 3,s for the first shots and 1-3/8oz 2,s for the third. Out of my Browning A5 with 1/4 choke. Makes the best change from watching KZhead. As I got quite a few on camera, when I had time to switch it on- ah! Memories.

  • The 5 or so banding stations up north did a record 20,000++ bands on the snow geese and Ross geese, unfortunately there is a glitch in records so results are all pending. A year end it would be interesting to do review off all the band returns on a show

  • Do you walk through the tree lines and push up Ruffies and Pheasant? After the morning shoot.We do this as we only have 4 or 5 days out east of Red Deer Alberta .We want to maximize our time in the field.
