  • Met Charles on the floor that night, je was wearing a shirt that had a collection of his mug shots on the front. He told me this was actually his 80th pro fight. I said I was sorry he lost he said I don’t give a fk as long as I get my money, just munching on a hotdog like anybody else. Really nice guy

    • That sounds like another comment I saw that was a guy that met him when he was 19 in '99 or some shit and he said he had just got done smoking a blunt out back and he asked him what it was like bare knuckle fighting, and Charles just said "a nxgga gotta eat" (or something like that) and then went out there and beat the guy in like 90 seconds.

    • @@RockandRoll-ss7dc many reasons most of which likely stem from crazy stories out side of the cage relating to a traumatic childhood leading to drug addiction, mental illness, and a freakish athlete ability and a very lengthy criminal record. Yet with all those obstacles in his way he was able to maintain one of the most interesting careers in MMA outside of the UFC. he truly has a cult fanbase following. He is also remarkably positive considering how difficult his life has been. And finally he has mad respect across the mma world because he knocked out wanderlei Silva in a back stage brawl. Dudes a god damn legend and to this day has to fight to pay his bills.

  • I had a fight with Charlie Bennett out in Vegas was probably 12-14yrs ago.. he’d had couple fights in the ufc.. I remember, he was very explosivehe & quick.. he did whoop myass in the 1rd near the 2:45mark.. we dust ourselves off and had afew beers.. guys a fkn riot! 👊🏽💯

Listening to these young people make up new names for techniques..like The Question Mark kick. Been around longer than the question mark itself. Learning to understand traditional techniques in a world with no tradition. Lol!!! I've been in martial arts since 1982. Smoked a blunt with Crazy Horse in a limo bus at King of the Cage while we were getting fitted for mouth pieces about 20 years ago. Dude was funny and chill! Good to see he still out there!
