Things Vingegaard did before winning TDF: Rode the wrong way in Tirreno Confused about the blue jersey Crashed into Vlasov in a uphill punch in Itzulia Chopped Izagirre’s wheel in Itzulia Panicked on stage 5 TDF and went “BikeExchnage” all over the place He’s such a treasure
He had "wasted" all his bad luck and then made those 2 incredible bike saves, one with Pogi, another on the descend of that TT stage.

Putting a speedbump 500m to go in a sprint stage at the Vuelta a Burgos causing a massive crash. Huge fail on the part of race organizers and rider safety in general

Together with AvV wearing het TT suut for road race and had to wear her normal kit over it.
This season had some of the most dangerous finishes(last km) in cycling. Speed bumps, chicane, downhill, narrowing road, dangerous placed barriers, finishes in a corner. List goes on and on.
The fail title for wrong turns should only go to the organisers :)

Another one is on La vuelta, when Primoz Roglic crashed on a sprint battle when Remco is having puncture.
That was the Vuelta. Neither of them were at the Giro.

What about half the peloton being sent the wrong way at the finish in the Tour of Britain in Mansfield?
Has to be AMSTEL GOLD with the poor Bernard Cosnefroy being told he was the winner and celebrating, Michał Kwiatkowski commiserating (although his celebration and commiseration face are pretty much one and the same), then the decision reversed after the photo finish judges showed Michał Kwiatkowski actually won. A cracking race, these last few editions have never failed to deliver epic races. Great commentating by Rob Hatch as well.

Wouldnt even consider Philipsen and Bettiol failing. Much better than thinking someone finished already and not going for the sprint. If you always go for it you are on the safe side :D
What about the time during the tour when the two cars stopped at the same time and the riders crashed into them in the same exact way?

I miss the brutal crash in the womans TdF when Australian champion rolls without braking into a pile of riders after a crash before, "seeing a gap". I know, not very nice to see but I ve never seen anything like this before and definitely a fail

@@whatwelearned She was interviewed after the race. She'd been drafting the commissaire's vehicle coming back from a mechanical and didn't see the crash happen.
@@kgsails7102 She said to Eurosport "I thought I saw a hole, but I couldn't pass it. I am a bit disappointed. I thought I could go through it. It was fast, so I didn't miss the crash." That sounds to me like she did have the chance to at least reduce speed and the pictures prove that

i miss the womans tdf in general. with many inexperienced riders when it comes to big pelotons it was a big mess with so many dumb crashes, this being the dumbest one

Biggest fail of 2022 - Roglič crashing himself into Wright, then blaming Wright for it. AFAIK, Rog still hasn't apologized for it - either the crash or, more importantly, publicly blaming it on Wright.
Because he is correct. And wright basically said the same when 1st interviewed before the pr guy got there

Well spotted. I just assumed he was riding without one...
regarding the tirreno mishap, the riders couldn't really see the turn coming up at that speed and there wasn't enough proper indication, so if you didn't knew the route well enough, you were fucked. The riders behind were helped by seeing that Remco, Vingegaard and Pogacar looked, slowed down and turned around (and were going slightly slower than those 3 who were on the attack)

Most disastrous fail in this years Tour of Britain is missing. It happened in the stage 5, within the last one kilometre, bunch of riders went into a wrong lane and couldn't get back.

@@gcnracing I think so. That was a point supporting riders leave the head of the race and moving to a side. Clearly there was no barrier or no staff to block the way as it happened.

So...a rider who is beaten square and fair all while he's just not having his best of days in the mountains is a fail to you? Come on, you can't be serious.
Organizers should be fined for lack of clear indications to riders, and for lack of barriers where clearly necessary. At least put someone if you cannot put barriers for safety reasons.

I have a hard time blaming some of the riders for these "fails." When a road has more than one possible route to take, there should be NO WAY to take the wrong one! There should be barricades, course marshalls and/or signs that make it clear where they're supposed to go. I've missed or made wrong turns just on organized rides that were poorly marked. And I wasn't going nearly as fast as these riders are.

Some of them are bad markings, but most are just riders not paying attention. It’s an outdoor sport, paying a little bit of attention to your surroundings is part of the game.
Could you do one showing the mechanical failures that happened in 2022? Seats falling off, forks breaking, tires collapsing?

cycling fail #1: carlton kirby still has a job. all the women who you sometimes let commentate on races are FAR BETTER than that man.
more female voices means LESS male voices, because that is how math works oi? carlton kirby is awful. i dont know a single person who enjoys his "slow bicycle race" genius analysis time after time. but men run GCN so this will never change will it?

My biggest fail of 2022 is I somersaulted over my handlebars due pulling my front brake in reactionary panic because a squirrel ran out of hedges on my right but at the last second decided not to run onto the road. I'm sure he was waiting for me. Evil squirrel. 🚴♂☜ 🐿🗩 "Haahaa!"
