Blue Turtle's world really feels like a real place that's ambiently existing somewhere, and were just tuning in to live-footage on KZhead. So inspiring.
Thank you for putting this into words, cuz I feel exactly the same way
💜
Maybe it is.
Love your take Calum. I'm gonna think of it your way now
That's the best way I've ever heard anyone put it, Calum C.
The town was fully asleep by the time the enchanted mist broke over the wall, summoning the pale echos of the long-dead past, buried beyond the memories of men...
May Peace grace all who wander.
I’m doing some D&D world building today so this couldn’t come at a better time 💙
I've been writing a DnD campaign and this music has just plunged me into the Fantasy Mood
@@mysticalasduck6514 hell yeah, I always find myself listening to Blue Turtle’s videos when I need inspiration. I highly recommend the hour long mixes
39:50 - Love the sudden revelation of ghost guards still holding their position faithful to their duty (or punished for not doing so by eternal watch?).
Hey Blue Turtle, I just wanted to let you know that as a writer working on my next novel, your playlists have been really helpful. I listen to them whenever I need inspiration. Please never stop making these!
Nothing comes close to the experience of writing while listening to playlists such as this one.
Best thing to wake up to when I know I'm tackling housework and trying to plan some D&D today. These are always great
I love this for housework music too!
That transition from Valley of the Kings to Neptune (41:56) is perhaps one of the greatest musical combinations I have heard. It takes me on a journey home, starting with the wondrous majesty of the Appalachians in sunrise, zooming into great valleys carved by the Tennessee River, only to slow and settle onto a peaceful home. The gentle breeze combs through the woods and glides over the lake, where the sweet birdsong and the fragrance of rain on fields of grass fill the air with a serenity I have seldom felt since.
I'm currently writing stories for a Wizard and his Apprentice! This was perfect!
Came for the music, stay for the art
Every time we get a new track, is a good day in my boo- -AAAAAAH! HAUNTED CITY TOWER! :o How does anyone in that city sleep knowing that's a thing?!
Maybe that's why this city seems so sparsely populated? On the other hand, they looked like they were defending the tower against some other ghosts - perhaps they don't care much about the people inside the city? Its always so hard to tell with ghosts. I liked their inclusion as a narrative device though.
One common type of ghost phenomenon is an unchanging repetition of past events, almost like a recording being played back. These ghosts may be uncanny and possibly worse, but have no agency or awareness of the present. Ilthya may have been warned not to stay on top of the walls too long... perhaps, as James Donaldson suggests, only the unaffected parts of the city are inhabited.
The music you play is great, but your art is what really stands out to me. The landscape in this one was so gorgeous and beautiful. I’ve been looking at a lot of pictures of Italy lately (because I’m going there this summer and I’m really excited) and it looks like the sweeping, beautiful landscapes in those pictures. Your work is amazing, and thanks for supplying me with these great playlists that I can listen to whilst doing homework.
Oh I'm italian! Where are you from? Will you be visiting any big city?☺️
I’m from the US, and I’m going to Venice, some countryside places, then to Florence. It looks like an amazing country!
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Let us know how your trip is!!!! And if you find any super awesome places!
@@lynnjohnson9727 I will.
Just saw the ghosts for the first time after having this on while I study a number of time. Love the little hidden details in the animation!
Me too! I've listened to it many times and had never seen the ghosts!
Wooow I never saw the spirits before 😲 I mostly listen to it in the background, so it was an amazing surprise.
Tbh Blue Turtle playlists are kinda bussin hardcore rn
Oh wow, I never noticed the ghost guards at 00:40:00 before.
The detail of her reading the book during daylight whilst waiting for the sunset to begin is so simple and yet so amazing!
This is probably the 5th time I’ve listened/ watched this video, and it’s the first time I noticed the spirit guards
I am a passionate advocate for Blue Turtle, actively striving to acquire and embody their distinctive style.
Yes, so happy, another video and not LOFI. I like chill music to not have a beat. These are the best early morning work, music collections. Thank you for making them.
Through your art and music.. I embrace in exams. Thank you for creating awesome stuffs
Each of these videos stands as a testament to the mastery of your craft, a canvas where creativity and skill converge to create visual masterpieces.
These are the best instrumental music videos in youtube right now for me. When i need to relax i always think in this channel. Thats why i want to give you a HUGE thank you!!!
The Moebius drawing style ("ligne claire" though Moebius used a lot of dégradés with beautiful effect later) always wins me over.
I cannot say just how much having this world live and breathing on my second monitor adds to the enjoyment and quality of my own fantasy worldbuilding and writing. Thank you for sharing.
as usual, everything about this is utterly amazing, but the moment in the animation when the ghosts appear sent shivers down my spine. incredible!
Perfect! My wife and I listen to you daily...especially when we play board games and card games like weiss schwarz or mtg... it just fits the mood lol Thank you!
Saw this video in my feed and instantly stopped scrolling! Love the soundtrack and starry night - I feel like I'm in a movie!!
Your channel makes me feeling that it's a some cool open world game I have playing long hours with full immersion... New places, new stories of interesting characters, amusing quests... Your playlists helps me concentrating on work and study, thank you! I am glad I found this place
I’m so invested in this city! It’s extraordinary how just the few glimpses you’ve given us so far have managed to achieve that (along with the gorgeous music!)…it’s seriously skilful world-building! I want to see more of the city now :)
I'm nerdy enough to want to know its history. 😄 And also, I wonder why the land around it is so empty of human (or other intelligent species) life: no satellite villages, no farms, no other cities in the distance... I get the impression that humanity and any other sapient species that might exist in this world are slowly dying out. The Tower is enormous compared to the city, implying a larger population with much greater abilities/technology. The city has a different architectural style and aesthetic, so it looks like the product of a successor culture. But it has fallen into semi-ruin and disrepair. The people inhabiting it now appear to be too few in number to repair and rebuild it. A wooden fence across a breach in the wall (visible in one of the other videos featuring the city) represents a feeble attempt at shoring up the city's defense, but the walls are still too badly damaged to keep invaders out. In a scene where Ithya enters the city, the City Guard have a token presence at the gate, and they seem pretty lax. So it doesn't seem like the inhabitants are particularly concerned about marauders despite their vulnerability. Maybe it's just so isolated that there haven't been any marauders or rival empires in living memory...
The art style and thematic issues of these are the same as in the game Sable ... if you love this try this game its full of the same potential and unknown mystery...
This is usually the only time I can sit still and just enjoy life
I play all my D&D one-off's to these mixes, honestly such a blessing to have this soundtrack!!
I finally started watching Andor and I was immediately struck by how much his home town and the world with the Empire base look just like your drawings!
Shoutouts to that adventurer who sat still for hours until midnight
Love listening to this while I write. 36:17 is probably my favourite.
All I can do is add to the chorus of comments saying "Thank you so much".
Everyone should do what Ithyä's doing in this post I think people, over time, forgot how to observe the beauty of our planet, of our universe Much love to you all
These are perfect for my D&D sessions, they just fit so well and my players always comment about how beautiful the music is. I'm so glad I found Blue Turtle!
We always listen to your music when we play DnD online on fridays. Thank you for sharing this with us.
These compilations are my go to when writing. They are the perfect combination of inspirational and calming. Thank you for helping me to weave stories, Blue Turtle!
👍🏽
I've been sat watching the sunset on this video now for nearly an hour and i've honestly been lost in it. Amazing ambience and an artworld I want to live in!
The song at 9:04 is just epic and beautiful- makes me want to go begin an adventure somewhere haha
I have been under a terrible amount of stress and just in a bad place generally. Listening to your music as part of my day has helped me clear my mind. Thank you so much-God bless you.
I wish the stars rotated slowly, but the art was still beautiful.
Each one of these videos is a masterpiece 🤍
I love the style and the subtle characterisation with pose and expression in Ithya's Journey, it feels like a perfect meld of Moebius and Ghibli where Ithya reminds me specifically of Sypha from Castlevania and Nausicaa from Valley of the Wind, which I think is why I love it so much.
These visuals and music are great, a wonderful world built in the mind because of your work. You also let us see the world you are building and it has become a real place to many of us.
[NOTE]: This was just an original inspiration I shared. Blue Turtle's content has its own canon, and this town is called Oltak. Seventy-six days after every summer solstice, an odd festival occurs in the mountain bastide of Shalvhara, on the yearly anniversary of the ancient Battle of Shamvhara in the year 12. Residents and travellers climb the ruins of the monastery tower to gaze down at the crumbling walls, and the fields beyond, to see the ghostly defenders on the walls and ghostly ancient armies arrayed below, all of which only appear on this one night of the year. It is not safe to walk among them, as they cannot tell their own time from ours. The festival turned tragic in the year 873, as a perfect transit of the star Algemach by the transient Dhurgalik was occulted by the full moon, heightening the ghostly effect to such a degree that the upper levels of the monastery tower were affected. Nowadays, astrological predictions regarding the phenomenon are sent yearly to Shalvhara from the capitol, to prevent further tragedy.
Love the things to watch for that are unexpected...keeps u on your toes!
This music actually help me to find inspiration and motivation to write again after months of not typing any words (except for school), that's great!
This channel has the exact kind of fantasy music that I've been looking for and it's my favorite, by far.
I cannot express in words, how much I enjoy these playlists. They have not just elevated my D&D sessions but also are a stable support for cooking, cleaning, writing and working. Keep up the great work!
Since I found your videos I listen to them every day during my morning work routine. I hope you continue to receive the positive reception you've gotten so far and your popularity continues to grow. Not just for your channel, but for the privileged few that will be able to experience your videos. Good luck and truly, thank you Blue Turtle.
these make me draw and write which keeps me alive thank you.
Your artwork and music picks comfort me enought to the point where I can study in peace, instead of worrying about little (or somewhat bigger) things. Thank you.
I'm listening to this while reading the Steerswoman books and it's a perfect fit
Now we know that the world of Ithya is geocentric, at least - the stars don't move all night but man that sun TRUCKS across the sky!
Thank you x This is perfect x
these are the only lofi tracks i use and can still focus with ❤️
I'd love to see some written lore (if there is I haven't noticed any) on some, if not all, of these fantastic set pieces. What is their story? Why are they here? In some cases, what is it? I love the designs and the world created so far, and I'd really love to see more!
This channel is the best thing for study.
The light on those southern mountains is downright gorgeous. I always love it when you incorporate the sun or clouds in these videos!
Thank you for putting this up.
This makes me want to cry in the absolutely best way possible
I repeat myself everytime I comment on your videos because I keep saying how amazing they are, and this one is no exception. An absolute pleasure to listen to and watch 💙
This background music is art, a MASTERPIECE!!! So inspiring. In my opinion, it would be a perfect soundtrack for the next Chronicles of Narnia movies. Thank you very much for making this.
this art reminds me of the way the TV adaptation of the Shanara books depicted the world.
I could see a point click game being made in this style and this world setting, would be dope!
These are criminally underviewed.
Ooo! I get to do some editing for a short story today with this as backdrop! Thank you!
Wow! New video! Thank you!! ❤❤
Amazing mix! Felt really stressed when I got into work and couldn't stop thinking about personal issues, but this has chilled me out and now I'm working more productively!
I can't wait to watch it!
Brilliant! I wish I could visit this fantastic world!
I liked before I listened, because that's what real fans do.
I continue to be amazed by your incredible artwork! It's such a unique art style I love it!
As always: PERFECT! Thank you, buddy
Thank you for upload :D
These have yet to get old on me. I love them all
I love your videos. There is only one thing: Your stars aren't moving with the sun. If you are lazy, you could say that the world plays in a flat earth world, where only the sun moves or your character finds a mystical lever, that makes the stars move in the next video. That would be awesome!!!
Just found this channel and omg I wish I'd found it sooner. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing I've been looking for to have open while I write! Thank you Blue Turtle, I'm so excited for new videos!
Good news guys! I found the ghosts hahah
Yee! They were definitely worth the hype don't you think?
@@phlofur5417 absolutely!
The compilation is truly amazing, it fits so much to D&D games. I'll definitely use it in my games with friends. Thank you! =)
So beautiful and inspiring!
Thank you so much for the amazing videos!
Well done on the art and music, this is one of your best. I love your use of color, looking forward to whatever comic you're releasing.
So.... I lived tis magical moment of this premiere : listening to this inspirational music with others and discover this wondeful work of @Blue Turtle and the possibility to chat with him/her directly. That's this kind of kindness moments in life where you can say : "I've got Faith in Humanity, in Love and Hope" Have a wonderful day and a greatful life ❤
I've been watching your videos, wow that's some serious stuff to create an animated timelapse. It's like an Indie game(minute to island), this is so peaceful!! Thank you Bam! (I call Blue Turtle Bam)
These are always such a blessing. Thank you for taking the time to put these together! Keep it up! :)
Yey, another great background music whenever i read stuff, Thank you Blue Turtle!
this has been such good music to listen to as i work on designing a ttrpg, so glad to have found this channel!
This is grand. Your videos are great to watch at the start and end of my day, and some during naps in-between.
Amazing sound. Thank you for your job.
This is my fav so far
Your mixes and art is a fresh air for inspiration! Thank you for creating such masterpieces!
Currently working on my creative writing project that has over 40+ Tabs spread out over 4 different windows. So it helps that your music makes me able to focus and feel like I have a breakthrough coming with each chapter. Thank you! Keep up the tremendous work!
your mixes are always excellent, but I think this might be a new high point.
Everything about this video is just *chef's kiss*
I absolutely love the art style of these videos and how they mix minimalism and details, I'd love to be able to draw like that.
i love the aesthetic of this channels videos
