My grandma (mums mum) tried to get me to dress in skirts and girl stuff that she had made (they were pretty) and I refused because I was a tomboy and followed my 2 big brothers everywhere on the farm. I had to wear shorts and tshirts "just like daddy and the boys". My oldest brother still looks out for me more than 35 years later (I'm in my 40's). We talk every day and he visits often. They walk me around everywhere they want to go. Pitbulls were originally bred as nanny dogs who took care of british babies because of how gentle they were. Then Americans started breeding and training them to be aggressive. @TheOnlyKingOfNightmares@TheOnlyKingOfNightmares Жыл бұрын
    • @KingofNightmares My cat is black and white but still called Shadow. He is called Shadow because I rescued him and he follows me around like a shadow. His favourite meal is tuna from a can, the first meal I ever gave him. He was abandoned by his previous owners as a kitten and more than 6 months later I moved into his old house. My therapy dog adopted him as her baby and would let him steal her dog bickies (she was grumpy with everyone else). He has a hard time trusting humans because of some nasty neighbours who admitted to hurting him instead of helping. He has grown to trust one of my brothers who visits often. He loves my mum and her gentle pats, she buys him treats and tins of tuna when she visits every couple of months. Shadow is still not sure of my dad, he was the "scary monster" who took Shadow and I to the vet to get his shots, etc. Recently he let dad pat him for about a minute, a breakthrough 6 years in the making. Shadow is about 8 years old now so hopefully we have years more to go. I hope you have lots of good memories of your Shadow. It sounds like your cat had a wicked sense of humour and loved to entertain you. Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot

    • All dogs can be sweet. It's just that bully breeds get a bad rap because larger breeds with power like them can do more damage when they are just doing dog things. A chihuahua can be bitey and mouthy too and sometimes moreso... it's just that they can't do as much damage because they are small. And people who don't know how to properly care for an animal shouldn't be getting powerful animals like these.

  • Has any child been as eager and happy to go on a camping trip as Keiko and Niko were in sprinting to the car?

    @deanronson6331@deanronson6331 Жыл бұрын
  • Ma'am, just for the fact of you not being really a "cat person" but you adopted a cat (in the beginning) just because you knew how overcrowded shelters are w them and you wanted to give one in that vast number a chance at a happy life, means you have my respect for life. If I never knew another thing about you then this simple act of kindness it would be enough and all I'd ever need to know. Ty from the bottom of cat lover's hearts everywhere.

  • What a beautiful family! I will tell you the story of another camping cat: My dear friend who is now 75 years old told me about The cat he had as an adult. He and his friend liked to go camping quite frequently and they would take his cat. She would go off exploring and then come back. The day they wanted to leave she was out exploring and they called her and called her but she didn’t show up right away. They waited a couple of hours For her and she did turn up and they were able to leave. He wasn’t going to leave without her and he knew she’d be back ❤He had cats since he was a child and that was the preferred pet in the family. So he understood the ways of cats very well.

  • Over time we have managed to "collect" seven stray dogs and four stray cats. Never a dull moment around our place but overall, the animals all get along with one and other very well. When you co-mingle with dogs and cats you learn they all have their own unique personalities and ways of showing their affection for you and their siblings. I wasn't a "cat person" either but that all changed dramatically after caring for a stray who was more in tune with me then my dogs. Love them all and they will love you back in their own special way.

  • Well, this makes for the third cat, that I know of, that wasn't afraid of water. There was the cat my family had when I was a child who became so used to taking baths, that she would just stand there and let us bathe her. 16 years ago, I got a kitten, and the first time I bathed her, she just stood there and drank the water as I gave her a bath. Not all cats fall into the same category when it comes to water. Just like people, cats are all unique unto themselves.

  • "Part of the pack". That's the key. Our big shep mix would act very aggressive towards anyone or anything that came to the house until he knew they belonged. After that, he was all about getting petted. Our two cats would climb all over him and he was so gentle and just saw them as part of his pack along with the humans and little shih-tzu.

  • I ❤❤❤ this! How awesome! I rescued 2 pit mix Bro and Sis. They have never been apart..I already had cats I rescued. 1 cat ended up having seizures. They Alerted me when he was going to have one. Even if they weren't in the same room!!! I have to watch them with the cats though..I just don't fully trust they won't hurt them..they hunt stuff in the yard 🥺 my cats got out of the window the other night. The dogs alerted me again!! Dogs can be very smart and protective of their household! ❤🐱❤🐶
