The new 2025 Toyota Camry review // The mid-size sedan king gets better!
This is a Motormouth couple car review of the new 2025 Toyota Camry mid-size sedan. The 2025 Toyota Camry is all new and comes exclusively with a hybrid powertrain! The 2025 Toyota Camry is designed and assembled in North America. It comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with the 5th generation Toyota Hybrid system matched to an eCVT. FWD models get a combined 225 horsepower and AWD models 232 horsepower.
Toyota says this new 2025 Toyota Camry has a reengineered suspension, SE and XSE models have a sport tuned Macpherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension. The braking system has also been updated for balanced handling and comfort.
The new 2025 Toyota Camry looks sharp, more modern, sportier and sleeker than the outgoing model. The hammerhead front fascia gives it a unique and clean look.
The 2025 Toyota Camry interior definitely gets an upgrade, Toyota focused on making the Camry cabin look more upscale, clean and modern. It comes with some great standard features and plenty of updated technology including a standard 7” digital driver display, 8” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a wireless charger.

Standing ovation for Toyota for offering a practical wheel/tire option instead of insisting on low profile tires. Also for providing a spare. Will be interesting to see what happens to the Lexus ES.
I love that the touchscreen is integrated into the dash instead of just bolted on.
Subaru does that well too.
I wish it was bolted on and higher so it's easier to look at the navigation while driving
@sachinnair91 the nav in my Explorer displays in the guage cluster and talks, so no need to look away from the road.
@@j.d.thompson3505 Subaru infotainment is horrible , at least in the legacy 2021,hope it is better in a new Subaru
@@sachinnair91 Nah, I'm a delivery driver and use a tiny 8 inch screen in my 08 civic. Nav is really easy, even on such a small screen. Just a quick glace at the turn coming up, the shape of the road, and the distance to turn is all I need. I actually have the voice off, too.
Toyota nailed it with this one. Going fully hybrid is a really smart move. Why make 1 EV when they can make 10 hybrids? Excellent strategy !
It’s 90 hybrids vs 1 EV vs 6 plugins. Smart business strategy indeed.
@@star915 I honestly don't see the rationale for plug ins. However i do hope that EV battery tech develops to the point when its environmentally feasible and mainstream. EVs do have advantages from a maintenance perspective as well except for tire wear. for now hybrids are the optimal solution especially for stopped traffic and city driving.
or, we can make 10 battery electric vehicles, and burn zero gas. Hybrids still burn gas. The point is to get off fossil fuels.
@@z1az285: It's just different points along the spectrum. Plugin hybrids have NO range anxiety. They let people who don't drive a lot (like me, being retired) have pure BEV more 99% of the time (and thus burn almost NO gasoline). But they don't have the MASSIVE battery and the service issues (like having to go to the dealer) that BEV's do. For me, it's an HEV or a PHEV next time -- and it will depend on what's available -- not on being married to either one. But it will be a LONG time before everyone can have an affordable BEV, so alternatives are good for consumers.
@@rogergeyer9851 i agree with your points about plug ins wrt no range anxiety plus being able to drive for 40 miles or so purely on battery charge (using the prius as an example), however i read an article that indicated plug ins on average have less reliability (more service repairs / dealer visits on average) than ICE/ hybrid or EVs. Now the study didn't distinguish between brands and im sure some like toyota wouldn't have as many issues as say Hyundai or BMW, but be that as it may many hybrids seem to have found the sweet spot both from a performance/range/ reliability POV. We will see, ultimately battery tech is improving all the time and who knows? lets see what happens.
The interior and dash look good. The hybrid is a game changer. 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Compared with SUV prices, it's like spending Monopoly money. This is just outstanding value.
Yes. Just for that, the whole move to so many SUV's is really surprising to me. I guess liking not wasting money vs. showing off is very old school now. Even as so many claim they "can't afford anything", of course.
The front looks Prius like , gorgeous , the rear looks like previous generations Lexus ES350s, good decisions in design !
The thing nobody ever mentions about 16" rims is you'll get better mpg, lower NVH, less tire wear, and better ride comfort. Large rims creates more problems than it solves. This is coming from someone who used to hop up Civics back in the day. Oh yeah, you also get worse acceleration
Yeah, these oversized wheels and low profile tires is the biggest con job put on the vehicle buying public...
For sure you will get better fuel economy, I often wonder how many people will buy the Camry with 16" wheels.
And 16" tires are less expensive than larger diameter tires. Less weight if you have a flat.
@@alsheremeta ...other than AWD doing you any good on the highway.
@@landonlewsaw1762 I don't know where you live, but I've driven many times on highways that were a sheet of ice and I was very thankful for my Subaru AWD.
Toyota is killing it. This is a very Lexus like ES model. The MPG is ridiculous. I wonder what the 0-60 is for this engine
This is sooooo what I wanna hear cuz I was thinking about the es. No doubt the new ES will have the hybrid max for more power but I like this Camry even the base model looks interesting
@@JamaicanMeCrazy Safe bet for purchase. I would think after three years, these things would be worth $25K which is very little depreciation for a car (Based on the mid trim $33K)
@@eseir64 agreed.
Toyota is failing in other areas.
@@brahsumatra I do not see it that way. The new Land Cruser Looks like is going to kill it out there. The 4Runner is the 4 Runnner. THe RAV has done well and will continue to do well. The CVTs are questionable, but I would not buy one anyway. Kia/Hyundai are amazing looking cars with extreme unreliability. Honda ( I drive a passport) is Honda and they have always done well. Although the Accord is ugly as heck.
Ooohhh! This vehicle beautiful sporty looking that makes me go crazy over it. Great show Andrea!
Toyota absolutely nailed it! Great design, great size, great reliability history, great AWD option, great attention to the driver (power seats, handling improvements, acoustic glass/noise/vibration improvements)… and ALL of this at a GREAT price. Well, maybe not absolutely great pricing… but it seems refreshingly fair. Let’s see what Lexus does once it sprinkles it’s magic on it. Thanks for the video.
Whatever people buy a Lexus for, a great price is NOT it, given what you get for a similar Toyota at a MUCH MUCH lower price point and functionality level. (Showing off isn't one of my needs).
I don’t know how I feel about the dashboard yet, but I love the new Camry !!! So pretty! ❤

I love the interior and exterior much better on this new model. I especially love the red seats! The Honda Accord looks so stodgy next to the updated Camry.
The new Accord looked stodgy beside the current Camry.. The Camry has much better Dynamics as well as more available options. No Homelink no ambient lighting plus a lot more other things👇
Yeah, those red seats look GREAT. But that will probably be a more expensive option than I'm interest in actually paying for.

Another great review. Well done, Toyota, for persisting with and developing their hybrid system. Camry is not available in Europe. It was introduced a few years ago but only for a couple of years. I guess it was exciting enough against the German opposition. It would suit me being a smooth and comfortable ride.
You guys are amazing 🤩
Thank you we appreciate that!
The only reason between choosing a rav4 hybrid and this Camry is the clearance to the road… I like this car a lot and the price is really appealing… thanks for such good video…
Some drivers, myself included, like the higher seating position of an SUV. That is why I'm waiting for the next gen RAV4 which shares the same platform with the new Camry.

Love Camry hybrid AWD,base model and I am going camping in Algonquin with a steep incline secluded campsite on a lake, ahhhh, thanks Toyota….
Greetings from oakville Ontario thanks for the presentation and I like that the camry is available with hud 10" and optional 12.3 infotainment screen ciao for now
I’m curious if the XLE has rain sensing wipers available, as none of the Camrys have ever had that available🤔
Great review as always guys! I'm considering buying a Camry as my first car out of college. Which trim would you reccomend? The XLE or the XSE? I value comfort and smooth driving over being sporty.
curious on what you rate higher on new Sonata hybrid or Camry hybrid?
Another home run from Toyota; this Camry looks great inside and out, and offering it only as a hybrid is a brilliant move since that's what everyone wants to buy these days. The fact that you can get the level of performance it delivers while sipping fuel is an extremely attractive compromise that only a well designed hybrid can provide. Throw in AWD and Toyota's reliability and you can see why this Camry can easily keep, even increase, its lead at the top of the sales charts.
I like those base models with cloth seats.
No cloth seats, not in Canada anymore. All Canada gets are the 'soft-tex' seats in the SE, and the leather in the XLE.
the mileage rating is outstanding for a car of this size...and awd...why would anyone want an SUV??? great review as always
My good lord that is one good looking woman! Sorrynotsorry Zach! Keep up with the great content! Cheers to you both
Great review! Thank you! I know you guys have driven the Honda Accord as well. Which one is quieter on the road?
The Accord Hybrid is a bit quieter but don't get me wrong this is very good.
I got excited when I saw the Canadian pricing as vehicle pricing in Canada now includes all fees other than taxes. But after watching a couple of other videos, I believe prices shown here don't include Freight, PDI etc, Is that correct? From what I've seen elsewhere, the extra fees are pretty significant ~$3,600+ so that the base $34,300 becomes just under $38k. 🙁
The base US LE price of 28K+ looks pretty sweet, given all the base includes. Alloy wheels on the BASE? Add the moon roof, and I have EVERYTHING I'd want on such a car. (Being old school, first new Toyota in '82, modern cars have LOTS of equipment to me. For me, a backup camera standard was just FANTASTIC, for example.)
Great review. During the review Zach mentioned being "blown away by how good it was driving the Toyota Crown Signia". When will you be posting that video?
June 6th
Looks great! Do I have this right, that this car has the 5th gen hybrid system and a heads up display, but the Crown Signia uses the 4th gen and doesn't offer a heads up display? If true, I don't get it as I thought Crown was supposed to be a more premium vehicle...? Also, where is the new Lexus ES???
Stunning!!! Can't wait to see your review of the Crown...I refuse to call it the crown signa.
We can't wait to share it 06/06.
That base model looks very interesting to me think I'm gonna get one next year
Toyota is the leader for a reason. This is GOOD. since the rest have retreated or settled for second place (lookin at you Accord) this is a well deserved title
Love Zack's face expressions when Andrea hits the power, Toyota finally investing into the car platform. Love that Red interior it's very rare for a Japanese vehicle. Should sell quite a few with that great fuel mileage.
Very nice love it ( Ty Ron
In US the base LE with 16 inch wheels is rated at 53 mpg on highway , hard to pick a hybrid Prius over the Camry
Except with the hatch, the Prius has a much more versatile cargo capacity.
@alsheremeta versatile, but very cramped interior space vs the width of a camry trunk
@@samthecar: True. But as consumers, we have differing priorities and CHOICES are great for consumers.
TBH, it looks great! It makes me want to check my ego and buy one of these instead of an upscale SUV as our family's 2nd car next time. Very practical. Love the gas mileage, looks decent, and probably will run forever. The bank of Toyota!
Are the wheels factory equipment?
Does this Camry ride as smooth & quiet as the Lexus ES 350 Hybrid? Thx
Sounds like the same powertrain as the Sienna, which is amazing.
Would like to know the maintenance and longevity of the e cvt
Really nice car. Any word on Lexus updating the ES? This hybrid engine has more HP than the 2024 model hybrid for the ES.
Anything for a Camry Prime? Looking for something bigger than a prius.
🙏🏼Thanks for share, good innovations but in my personal likes the model of 2006 to 2012 was a good new elegant design also model of the years 2017 to 2024. Actually for me Honda Accord always realize very elegants at the same time sophisticated models .
I presume you mean elegance?
Do you have a release date for the Signia Information from your test drive?

The XLE microfiber looks like it will stain or wear out. What do you think?
I definitely l8ke thr supersonic red/nite shade! I ESPECIALLY like the xSe and NOT the xLe. And I'm an old man (71yrs old). Great analysis.👍 PS. I'd probably "blacken" the grille.😉
I think the refresh looks much better than the outgoing model, especially at the rear where the odd black slashes are no more. A bit confused by the “black Softex” comment when you show a light upholstery version almost immediately which is what I would take if available.
You went straight from saying you had to slouch a little bit in the backseat, but, again, when you mentioned rear room you didn't mention the comparison headroom between Camry and Accord. Let me find out 😊
They've also added rear vents for the rear seat passengers. Even on the base model.
Do you know when will be able for Spain?
I’ll keep my fingers crossed when I pick up my rentals at the airport. Come on Camry!! Ooooo I got a Malibu. Again.
Actually the Malibu isn't that bad for a GM. But OTOH, it's no Camry, especially with this new Toyota platform.
Looks good. Not too crazy about a hybrid and I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a place for the front license plate. Has it been designed to only allow the plate on the back.
The car looks better without a license plate at the front
@@alvinsimba734: As do all cars. But some jurisdictions mandate a front plate.
Would really like to see how the auto start/stop works on all the cars you review.
On Toyota hybrids it's not noticeable.
@@rlderemer: It was seamless and natural when I test drove a Prius in about '02. It can only have gotten better and more bullet proof (re wear and tear on the starter, etc) in the past 2+ decades.
With the price of gas these days, we need to get back into sedans vs SUVs. The SUV phenomenon is unique to NA and doesn't exist in Europe.
That and climate change. It will take decades to get BEV's and their supporting infrastructure to where everyone has one. So until then, the BIG and CHEAP bang for the buck is having hybrids so good that the VAST majority will chose them over regular ICE's and knock a huge chunk of gasoline burning off very quickly.
The XLE looks awesome in that teal metallic paint color. Very Lexus like. Speaking of Lexus, any word on an updated ES model? Thanks 👍
No nothing yet, I've had a few people ask me about that.
Thank you for mentioning that it is on the old platform and giving canadian pricing. With pdi and block heater and dealer fees we looking at extra 3500$ CAD on top of msrp still cheap compare to base honda accord with 1.5 rubber steering wheel and cloth seats!
Hey guys. Good review like usual. Since you quote prices in USD and CND s it possible you can quote MPG in imperial gallon for Canadian drivers? Maybe a question for your Coffee Questions and Cars episode? For example 5.1 liters per 100 klm is 55.39 miles per imperial gallon...Yes/no? By the way I'm currently getting 5.2 liters per 100 klm's with my 2023 Venza in the city. That's not using eco mode and a lot of times using sport mode. I have learned a few tricks to get the best mileage out of my hybrid but consider myself an average driver, not slow or super aggressive. Previously owned a Rav4 Hybrid as well. Some tricks are how you use the climate control and even cruise control at say 80 KPH. I find using cruise at that speed it won't go into EV mode. At highway speeds it won't go into EV mode that's why usually a hybrid is better in the city. Interesting to see the Camry getting the same at highway speeds, very impressive. PS...I don't get near 5.2 in the winter but all vehicles loose a fair bit in the winter and even EV's loose a lot of range in the winter.😉
You're ON the INTERNET. So you can't do a simple imperial gallon conversion, given you're concerned about CANADA? Really? I googled it in 10 seconds to type it in and get a LOT of consistent hits. An imperial gallon is 1.2 US gallons (VERY close to that). They don't seem to teach a LOT of things in modern schooling.
I like the 4 options to consider portion of the show, but would like to briefly hear a little more reasoning for each. Thanks
Another great review! I said it on Instagram, that I've been waiting for this one. Thank you for always including alternatives to consider. For the LIFE OF ME, I cannot understand why the Honda Accord will not offer a heated steering wheel in the USA. I think that would be my top choice, but no heated steering wheel is a deal breaker! I'm still going between a smaller SUV or sedan. The Cadillac CT5 and XT4 are on my list as well. If you had a budget of 40k, new or lightly used what would be your choice, Cadillac CT5, XT4, Volvo S90, XC60, this Camry or some other option/options? I live in New England, need AWD, would like heated seats, ventilated seats, a heated steering roof and pano roof if possible, although the roof can be a regular sunroof. That's not a deal breaker for me. Thank you! Love you guys and respect your opinions and reviews so much.
It's funny how different people are, re deal breakers. For me, heated seats and steering wheels are nice if the price is right (and if I have NO license fees, etc). But I always have gloves in my winter coat pocket. For me a deal breaker is having to go to the dealer for service, as seems to be the case for MANY BEV's. So the hybrid seems optimal plus at a low price point, sipping fuel, and I don't drive lots of miles anyway.
@@rogergeyer9851 , after driving my husband's truck with a heated steering wheel, there's no way I would buy anything that didn't have one going forward.

Ah. First world problems. And let's pretend car washes don't exist, etc. /s
Liked the old style taillights, but this one is fine too.
I notice that they have a red light in the steering wheel. is it the new attentive driver alert? also how about the heated steering wheel? is it whole heated or only half/half?

Great review. Do you think the small car will come back. Yaris, Fit etc.
Not likely when people keep wanting bigger and bigger 🥵🥵🥵 can't even fit these 'mid' sized cars in parking spaces and garages anymore

Not likely for a hybrid. Hybrids are all about efficiency for very high mileage. Also, you start playing those games, and the price goes up a lot. Maybe Lexus will go that direction and charge massively for it. An example of why I never fooled with Lexus, considering the competence and durability of the Toyota line.
so XLE is the top trim in the Canada but XSE is the top dog in the US?
This Camry's face is waaaaaaaaaaay more handsome than the big black look of prior Camrys.
great video. Too bad in AZ they local dealers wont get AWD. Another reason they should offer factory builds.
Very smart move by Toyota to offer the Camry in hybrid form only. Wish more auto companies would follow. However, supply chain probably limits that.
Does this have one pedal braking due to the regenerative braking?
Yes, it has a regenerative braking system.
Wish Toyota had the hybrid max engine with automatic transmission in Camry. Not loving the CVT transmission
I really wish Toyota would offer memory seats on the XSE trim. Love the look of the XSE, but with no memory seat function, that is a deal breaker when you have a family of three drivers.
Did I get that right- Is an accord hybrid near $10,000 more?!?
You can't go wrong with a Toyota 🎉
Those prices are still absolutely wild compared to just 2-3 years ago.
so is everything else 😰😰😰
Not really. The US prices on Camry hybrids were a good $25K or more to start several years back AND didn't have some of the things included in the base version. This is more car for the money, ESPECIALLY given what inflation was in recent years. I sense political whining here vs. an actual issue. Covid was worse due to Trump's incompetence. So don't forget to thank him.

If you're willing to spend the money, enjoy the car. Clearly, lots of people are. For me, with modern cars, the BASE models are really nice re features.
@rogergeyer9851 I usually get something midline. Top of the line is often too expensive.
"Toyota Camry 2025" is already in its fifth generation. It is a popular mid-size car with a reputation for reliability and fuel efficiency. Many people consider it a smart choice for a family car.
Hybrid AWD is the proper way to save the sedan segment. As much as I love Toyota's V6 engine, most consumers bought Camry because of its hybrid drivetrain. I heard over half of Camry sold were hybrid. Also more spacious than the space age styling of Prius.
Things must have changed a lot. I could hardly FIND any hybrid Camry's in 2017 when I bought my last new Toyota. Maybe 3 on the lot vs. maybe 200 or more pure ICE Camry's, and of course, MUCH better choice re options on the ICE Camry's. Given how good Toyota hybrids have gotten, it's about TIME they're really pushing those -- and it's better for the environment than pure ICE.
I agree that it would be nice to have the LE model here, but I suspect that Toyota might be concerned that it would cut into the sales of the Corolla hybrids.
Why would they care? Maximize profits and make more customers happy, if they want the fancier, more expensive cars.
