Author Douglas Murray has joined Sky News host Rita Panahi to discuss the fall of the West, civilisational decline, the rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and elitism.
Mr Murray is currently on his ‘Uncomfortable Conversations’ tour in Australia.
Ms Panahi said Mr Murray is “among the most principled and courageous writers and thinkers in the world today".
“[He has] a moral clarity and command of language that is unmatched," she said.
Mr Murray’s latest publication is ‘The War on the West’ - a New York Times Bestseller that discusses how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric.

I was lucky enough to see and view Douglas Murray in Sydney Sunday evening. He was brilliant. I was glad I was able to hear him speak. After protests in Sydney University and hearing those outside the Enmore theatre.... who knows how long our freedom of speech will last?????

If they'd had the geography, resources, entrepreneurial spirit, and work ethic that gave us the advantage, you can bet they wouldn't be beating themselves up over our suffering. This is entirely about how to guilt trip the wealthy (although decreasingly so) into handing it all over to them without their doing anything to work for it themselves. What's worse is that, by denying them the option to have their own coal mines (for the good of the planet, doncha know?) so they can make their own way up the ladder, we're building even more resentment. Where do we get off telling Africans they can't have coal driven reliable energy? India, quite rightly, called it 'eco-colonialism' and told the West where to get off. As a result, over 50% of man-made CO2 emissions are from Asia and China, and those levels will continue to rise because they've no interest in impoverishing themselves (as we have) trying to remove CO2. Besides, its increasing their crop yields and feeding the people, so why would they? The West is going to go like all past mighty civilisations and the baton will pass to China, Asia and, eventually, Africa, and when people ask why such a powerful society failed, we'll all know it was because of treachery from within. Attackers from without will finish the job (China and Russia, or Islamist extremists), but without these vicious, self-flagellating morons undermining us from within (many in our own governments) we could withstand it. As it is, you can wave goodbye to the west unless the people rise up and say 'That's enough!' I'm too old and too disabled to fight, now, but if I was still a kid I'd be out there. I did stand up to defend such things when I was a student, but I admit it's hard when there's about six of you against hundreds. Here in the uk I as retired English female with a family tree dating back to the 17th century, I now no longer feel welcome in Britain. I am told the countryside is too white so as a white female I am no longer feel welcome there. The National Trust and English heritage tell me to be ashamed of my white privileged so again I have left these two organisations that I supported for many years because I am not welcome. I feel so sad and worried for my children and grandchildren. What an awful society we now live in.

Well put, I see the same things happening, on a smaller scale of course, in Canada. It's difficult for me to believe what I've been seeing - over the last few years especially - the west, its citizens and 'leaders', has fallen so far so quickly in so many ways. Just to see how quickly antisemitism has become not only acceptable but the *most* acceptable way to act, the only ok "protests" now - despite what *still really happened* on October 7th, and what is history vs propaganda - is staggering (in my mind anyway!). An American, I honor the kinship and special friendship and alliance we share despite the fact that our two countries are being ruled by leftwing lunatics at the moment. I shall never forget that in 1979, Canadian Embassy officials in Tehran risked their freedom and their lives to save many of our American Embassy employees by smuggling them out if Iran with Canadian diplomatic cover, identities, and safe air transportation.
