When you use a wet batter, you have to leave the basket down when dropping in the fish. Only lift the basket once the fish is cooked.
Don't know if it has been suggested, but a battery powered vacuum with a wide head attachment would be good for getting rid of the bugs inside the boat before bed.
One way to fight the bugs is maybe putting one way film on the windows so they cant see the light inside or just add the darkest tint you can find.
It would also take the visibility of the boat away.
Peppermint extract works for spiders. It might work for flying insects as well. Spiders won't go near it.
Brandon, you got to get a bug zapper for the front and back of your houseboat. That way the bugs are attracted to something besides your windows and the lights inside. 😉 The deck at the lake house what's 12 ft wide and 40 ft long. The bug zapper was in the middle hanging from the outside rail. I guess it's because the color of the light the bugs were more attracted to that and the lighting on the deck. They're not that expensive, so it's worth a try. Plus, it's entertaining to watch the bugs fly into it and snap crackle and pop !
Agreed. If you had bug zappers it’ll help. Yes they attract bugs but they attract the bugs to the zappers and it will help greatly.
That and put some curtains inside the doors to block the light
they have indoor zappers also
3 bug zappers, unfortunately because of the shower and bath it takes the place for one of the zappers
Why u ain’t keep the fish u catch
A shop vac to suck up the bugs before bed works amazing!! 😎👌🏼🤣🤣
Anyone else think Guga should join them on the Catch and Cook?
He would try to make a stake out of every fish they catch. With his experimentation might be a funny episode.
😂 today we sous vide a tilapia for 40 hours for comparison
As always the ingredients will never be listed below
@@cvnate619ify but you can count on salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
That would be legit. lol only salt, pepper and a good amount of garlic powder! Guga and Jordan would be super entertaining!
For the bugs, just hang Thermacell on all 4 corners of the boat, the insects will keep distance. Those things come as gas lamps too and you even have a sort of ranger version which you can hang on your belt while being in the jungle. You can also place one inside, but I recommend to vent the room before closing it up, because people have said it is not good to be in the same room with it due to the substance used. But contrary to zappers, it reppels insects.
Definitely thermocel
I'd put a thermacell outside right by the door to keep the insects from gathering there. Then when they open the door to go in or out it shouldn't be an issue. Of course, they'll be going through refills fairly quick.
Also try actually turning off your interior lights.
😂too many lights 😂 they are attracted to them
Don't they use concentrated DDT? I'd kill for a natural bug repellent and killer that's a great price for once myself. One that genuinely works wonders.
You need a Thermacell patio shield. Works awesome for mosquitoes, and most other bugs.
Hey buddy when frying fish. Don’t lay them into the basket and lower it into the oil. Put the basket down and carefully lay the fish into the oil one at a time. That way it won’t stick to the basket and you’ll get an even cook all the way around.
Don’t leave the inside lights on when you leave the boat. That’s what attracts the insects to the doors. Yellow lights on the porch near the door may also help.
You guys made me laugh so hard with the top bunk bed situation that my wife had to come check on me 😂. Really good video and congratulations on the TV show!
For the bugs you should get a couple of those fans that go above the doors and point down and only turn on when the door opens. You see them at gas stations and grocery stores. Also, poor your oil back in the bottle through a funnel lined with some coffee filters. Keeps it safe from spills and saves money.
or a pressure washer filled with bugspray lmao
And Citronella lol
@@JASONH01 I get sick when a citronella candle is near me. Makes me 🤮
I second the wind screen.
@@JASONH01 or y’all are just walking vag’s.
You need to put screens/mosquito nets around that porch area so that you have a buffer between the bugs and the indoor area. All that light and concentrated C02 is going to attract bugs regardless. The door to the mosquito netting can simply be the kind where the opening closes up with magnets. Something you can can roll up or put away when you're moving fast or fishing. I would probably put overlapping netting in front of the door to the houseboat as well so that you go through one piece of netting going onto the porch and another curtain of netting when opening the door, just to have that extra buffer to prevent any that slip into the porch area from also getting into the indoor area.
I have that same Camp Chef oven, and it’s awesome! Cookies, rolls, pineapple upside down cake, pizza. Best Father’s Day gift ever!
good to see Hudson again glad to see he is doing well
The house boat videos are definitely great.
Hey, Brandon. Nice to see the Nautical Bros again. Hudson went the extra mile to get spares for you. Lol'd when your girl wouldn't make the houseboat deal. Looks like you had quite the successful fishing/bow fishing day. And the bugs.. just grab a couple of those annoying lizards. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe, all of you 👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mosquito nets outside the doors. Yes inconvenient cause you got to slide them over but they will work. Also turning the porch light to something other than fluorescent would keep the bugs away. Maybe a yellow tone light.
Give the whole house and boat blue skys white fluffy coulds and blue crashing waves. Especially the poontons with blue and white water waves so it looks like is gliding through the water all the time.
when frying things with a wet batter you want to put the basket down first, then add the battered fish or whatever else you're cooking to the oil. this should help keep it from sticking to the basket like that. also it's not a bad idea to kinda half dunk the fish in the oil and hold it there for about 2 or 3 seconds before you let it go. this will cook the bottom and help keep it from sticking to the basket. and if you're frying in a pot without a basket, doing this will help keep the food from sticking to the bottom and burning.
Pretty sure you gotta drop the basket empty into the fryer and then drop the pieces in one by one with tongs. Beer batter is annoying lol You can try screen curtains over the doors for the bugs but you really need bug zappers and some of those thermocells as well to really wage war on FL bugs!
spot on that's frying 101 👌
All you need to do to help with the bugs is install a net infront of each door. Some even come with magnets to hold it shut and you can make sure its closed. Got a few for my house to leave the doors open when its nice and cool in the summer.
You can buy rolls of fly paper. Just hang a few rolls on each side. They will catch 1000s of bugs, just tear the paper and pull down more. You could knock down the amount of bugs pretty quickly. Or leave them hanging while you go fish. Side note - You should drop battered foods directly into a fryer by hand (or with tongs) instead of setting them in the basket and lowering the basket. The oil couldnt get between the fish and the basket which is why they were glued to it.
For the bugs you should bring a mini cordless vacuum and then you can suck up the bugs off the ceiling and wall.
For the bugs consider spraying your boat deck down with a fogger can of bug repellent. I live in southeast Texas and it works great. It can be found at almost any hardware store. It’s made to be sprayed on your yard for temporary bug relief but I’d imagine it would work great out there and it smells good too!
Beaumont, TX here. That stuff works for us as well.
For the bugs you could get something that blows high pressure air down when you open the door. Those bugs couldn't fly through that
When you have a wet badder, you have to drop the fish in the oil. You can't put it in the basket and then drop it in.
The part of the stab by pegs was killing me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Everything looks so amazing and fun I hope yall have an amazing week😊
Lake Hatchniha has the most alligators, I’ve ever seen. Used to go out there and run the edges in airboat and seen more than I’ve ever seen in one lake as a life long Floridian who grew up on airboats.
love your shows and never miss, want to say i hope your health is doing better so you can get back to driving.
The music in this was a vibe, also your laugh is very contagious!!!!
I like the houseboat in the catch and cook and the bowfishing good video❤ great seeing your girlfriend take her on a trip with y'all
Nice boat! Love doing stuff like that.
I’m so hyped for the show!! Keep up the great work Brandon
Nice seeing you and Lakeland! Great lake
I quote this is the most organized thing you have ever owned 😂 love the content keep up the good work. Much love from Indiana 💥
Still love that the folding chair capt's chair is still around lol.
Love the house boat great job!
It’s a nice touch 😂😂😂
@@JigginWithJordan I would try screening both porches in and adding a screen door on both sides not sure what else would help other than fly strips and outdoor bug zappers on the porches
Those bugs are attracted to the white lights, you might want to try Amber lights or yellow. Bugs are not very attracted to the yellow spectrum. 🤔
Bugs or no bugs id love to be on that house boat. Fishing and catch and cook is life🥰
Awesome video to wrap up the weekend. Keep Orange Crushing It!
House boat is lookin awesome! Good to see Hudson saving the day too! Need to screen in that back area or something
Now ya see why houseboats are lit up on 4 corners with bug zapper lights lol.😅
I’m so happy and proud of you! I love the Nautical Bros. as well! Y’all are so much fun together!!
Awesome video Brandon. Love your channel. Thank you for posting.
Alright, Brandon, I thought you might enjoy another recipe for the catch and cook cabin. Here’s a recipe for your next tilapia catch and cook. 😊 Ingredients: Tilapia fillets 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (not the powder stuff) 1/4 cup softened butter 3 tablespoons mayo 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 pinches of dried basil 2 pinches Black pepper 1 pinch Celery salt 1 pinch Onion powder Parchment paper Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and broil the tilapia fillets about 3 minutes on each side. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl. Remove the fillets and slap the mixture on top. Stick back in the oven for about 2 more minutes until golden and bubbly. You can KISS and enjoy it by itself but I like mine over herb n butter rice. You could serve with a little roasted asparagus with garlic and butter.
For the bugs inside you could use a vacuum cleaner to clear them out. Works well with fruit flies as well.
Screen the front and back with those as you see on tv garage door screens and get real good blackout curtains so less light to attract the bugs. Citronella candles are good too.
Looks so fun. Need to rent it out as an Airbnb.
Try break-cleaner and a scotchbrite pad maybe for the pontoons, also maybe some candles for the bugs or spray. It may be overboard to go syfy and put a chamber inbetween for debugging
Brother Get a Lint Roller for the bugs! Lint Roll the cabin Before bed hahaha, Goodluck! Love the Boat!
Get some bug zapper lights for the deck outside and tint your windows.. In the middle of the lake at night, your lights are attracting pretty much all of them lol..
I live on Table Rock Lake and what I found their best solution for night insects was a one gallon shop vac. Once in for the night, suck up all you can. Helps a lot. Also on the generator exhaust, I took the muffler off, got steel threaded pipe and lengthened the exhaust to the edge off the boat and curved it downward with a 90 degree elbow then put a muffler on it.
Hudson!!!! Nice to see him back in the videos!!
Yo Jordan, I tried your recipe for that fish fry and the whole sandwich... your right is for my kids loved it too!
need buy one of those over the doorway air curtains. Makes a curtain of air to keep bugs out!!!!
Weather channel shot is 🔥 👏🏾 Congratulations 🍾
Different color lights outside at night. And a bug vacuum for inside. 👍🏻
Love the Channel ! I know it's not great for filming, but yellow and red light don't attract bugs like white and blue lights do. You should get some waterproof RGB strip lighting, then you can change it up as needed. If you hang an outdoor bug zapper out over the water, the falling insects should attract fish and keep the insects that are nearby busy.
Peppermint oil and dish soap in a spray bottle can help keep the bugs away. I use it around my house. It keeps most insects away.
I’m loving the pontoon fishing cabin. Each video with it makes me wanna build one 😂
For the bugs you should add a bug zapper or some essential oils, peppermint lemongrass, those help will with the bugs problems. Love the house boat it’s amazing
You need a heavy duty quality blanket to go and end of the patio hangs down for when you leave at night and on clips in the morning covering the whole patio window like a big sheet blanket
The houseboat videos are the best
I’m getting so excited
U guys need a little shop vac to vac the bugs up before bed and also a ton of fly sticky strips
So great seeing these videos, love it. Maybe add a 3rd axle to the trailer? Idk...I run a double with my 22' Skiff for aligator season and lumber etc.. so a triple for your massive camp boat might work better
You could put an air curtain above the doors so every time you open the door it turns on and blows air down to the floor so bugs can’t come in
24:22 Reef drooling! LOL
Was waiting on more content w the boat hell yeah
You should hang the googan bait wall on French cleats. So they are sturdy when hanging but can easily be taken down at night. Love the boat!
Citronella oil tiki torches attached to the railings on both ends of the boat should help take care of most of the bug problems along with shades pulled down on the windows to block the light from attracting the bugs.
Had fun seeing you at Lake Parker.
For the bug zapper, what you could try is adding some kind of boom arm to swing out when you're out on the water to get it further away from the doors, but you can still swing it in to secure it for transportation
Tint or put pull down blinds on the windows and paint the porch a dark color.
Mount the zappers on the roof for overnight trips and get LED lighting for the color spectrum that do not attract the bugs. Yellow, orange and or pink as you never know, brotherly love and all. :)
What y’all need is either a Red, Blue or green light through our the house boat, works like a champ. In my opinion Green is the best.
So cool as always!
Brilliant video 😊
good to see her again
in australia, we use yellow/amber lights with a lens filter. they dont attract insects period. its particularly good on minesites to avoid insects on nightshift and great camping in the outback
Those little dust buster's vacuum up the buggies!
The problem is the white light, that's what's attracting all the bugs. Rookies!! Come on boys step your game up!! You need to be rolling with blue light 💙
Venice was so fun today thank you for stopping by
Funny and fun to watch❤
LETS GO FOR VENICE MEET UP! Cannot wait to meet you again!
If you want to get rid of the bugs like that, an oscillating fan works pretty good, especially if you get one that does misting. Another option is diatomaceous earth. They make a bug vacuum too. It has a separate chamber to trap the bugs, otherwise it will just spit the bugs back out. If you put soapy water on the walls outside the house, that willw also get rid of them. Drop in a tiny amount of cornstarch in tne mix to thicken the solution.
Still need to get that big 4 stroke upgrade on the house boat so you have plenty of power to move the house in windy conditions and so y’all won’t get hurt with the 2 stroke exhaust. You could add a remote control system to it as well so you can drive it from the front deck if you want to.
Yo that laugh man I haven't laughed like that In weeks thank you for thar
LOL YOUR LAUGH WAS SO FUNNY!!!
Hell yeah brother living the dream life 🤘
With beer batter u need to put it straight in the grease and that will stop it sticking to the bottom
Came to say the same thing.
@Kyle Underwood when done right it's the best way to eat fish I think
For that generator you could put it on it's own deployable float to get it further away from the cabin and make it a lot quieter, and perhaps even better put solar panels on the top and/or on a tow behind solar platform for ultimate silence.
Best tiny home on KZhead ❤❤❤.
Absolute banger bro 🤙🏻
When I go camping, we use lights that you can toggle between White and Orange. Orange helps a lot against bugs compared to white UAV
For the bugs either Bug spot I use Dawn dish soap and water to spraying them. Works.
We need more of these videos 😂
Small vacuum is all you need for bugs bro. Just put one light on to attract them and go wild. 😉
