  • Honestly LOVE how Vanessa interacts with the dogs. From singing to the dogs about how big of a whiny baby they are, to politely informing the dogs that their behavior is very unnecessary. ALWAYS go to a groomer or any pet professional really, who talks to the animals like this. 10/10 times they’ll be good to your animals and fun to work with.

He was a commercial cleaner for 40 years of his life, inc. Hospitals and Veterinary Clinics 🤓 He insisted giving you some tips that might speed up your Post-Furnado routine: -place a plastic sheet or tarp over your bathtub to prevent the hair flying in. Shake outside. -brushing the "furry wall" first is a great idea, even better with a soft rubber-bristled brush. Hair really adheres to it & so easy to clean -as for the sweep-up in the beginning, here's a direct quote from Bill: "Geez, I'd be taking a leaf blower to that lot!" 😂

  • Although not really a German Shepard himself, this boy reminded me of Diana, a German Shepard I’ve had years ago- and how she loved to shed everywhere, no matter the time of year :)) thank goodness she was a short-haired one. She was a lovely dog, the kind you have once in a lifetime, and we got her by accident, too. Me and my parents were on a walk, saw a man walking with this gorgeous young German Shepard. We just passively said ‘that’s a beautiful dog’ to which he explained that he was on his way to put her down- the seller he got her from said she was a miniature or smth, and his home was too small for her- we didn’t really intend to take her, but we also thought it’d be a shame to just let her die. We asked how much he’d want for her, the man simply responded with ‘give me money for a bus ticket home and a beer and she’s yours’. We gave him an equivalent of £10 (roughly the same dollar wise) and had a new family member for the next 15 years. She really was one of a kind. We were simply meant to see her that day :)

  • Pro tip: You might wanna invest in a window squeegee! Sounds funny, but you can get one from the dollar store for cheap and use them to wipe down the walls, the shower, etc. Heck, you can even get a big one for the floor! Trust me, it'll become your favorite cleaning tool! (And you can even use it on that chair! It gets *ALL* of the hair!) I use one to gather up all the hair from my cat tower! And I have 3 cats... who shed incessantly. Works wonders!

  • Having the camera up in the corner showing the room but mostly the shower gives a really good angle where you can see a bit more like a fly on the wall. I also really appreciate you showing us how you clean the room and everything plus the products that you use. Helps out a lot when trying to figure out how to clean your own home with pets.

  • Oooh what a most formidable and beautiful boy! I had a German Sheperd with a long coat as well, and eventhough she was a female, and about half the size of this distinguished gentleman, the shedding was just like this! Really took me back this video! My baby Farah has gone to chase the rainbow 7 years ago and I miss her dearly... can't say I miss the cleaning of the furnado though lol.

  • A good reminder that yes, animals might react because they're animals and they might be fearful/not understand, but there may also be an underlaying cause for it (such as the possible sore on the tail) and it behooves us to always check and make sure there's nothing else going on (which may help inform how we approach handling any animal). Thank you for the education on how you clean your shop afterwards - it's really informative and I'm sure will help many of us know what to look for to make sure the pet professionals we're considering working with are checking all the boxes.

I have a cocker spaniel that I keep in full coat at all times, and I grooming him myself, so I don't know why I never thought about how much work you have to put into the cleanup, especially with all the various breeds that come through your door. Thank you for the behind-the-scenes eye-opener.

    • "Altdeutsche Schäferhunde" are a separate breed, just as you say. BUT the King Shepherd is not it. The KS was first bred in the USA in the hopes of rectifying physical deformities of the GS breed standard.

      @hopemasike531@hopemasike53110 ай бұрын
    • @@victoriaadams3318 das ist leider nicht so ganz korrekt und das ist der Grund: Es ist wichtig zu wissen, dass Elsässisch nur ein anderer Name ist, den die Briten vor dem Weltkrieg verwendeten, um die Hunderasse des Deutschen Schäferhundes zu bezeichnen. Der Deutsche Schäferhund wurde ursprünglich im 19. Jahrhundert in Deutschland gezüchtet und ist heute einer der intelligentesten und beliebtesten Familienhunde der Welt.

    • I have a Shiloh Shepherd. They were developed in the late 80"s and the King Shepherd was a split from the Shiloh. The Shiloh on average is a bit bigger. My boy is 30.5" at the withers and is 130 lbs. King Shepherd went the route of putting more shepherd into the mix and Akita, the Shiloh didn't go the Akita direction. Shilohs look more wolfie while the Kings are more german shepherd looking. Both are gorgeous rare breed dogs. Mine just gets mistaken for a wolf all the time, and also a bear. 🤣 But I feel the pain of the groomer, furnado is an accurate statement.

Breathing in anything that isn't plain oxygen IS bad for you period, even dust and dirt particulates can mess the respiratory system up over extended periods of time!

  • Glad you showed how to use Equigroomer for furniture. I used it for the back seat of my pickup. Yellow Lab all over my nice black upholstery! And yes, even with a seat cover. The Equigroomer does a great job getting the hair out of the more “furry” difficult upholstery that the hair sticks to more tenaciously and the Dyson V15 (on high!) helps for the majority of the job. Which is endless… 😊

  • Re overtrimming nails: one of my favorite dog walking memories is a pit lab that I had out on a very cold, icy day. She started favoring a forepaw and I saw a bit of blood on the ice. I assumed she had cut her foot on the ice but I found out later her owners had gone too short on the nail. Anyway, at a loss for what else to do, i took off one my gloves and tied it loosely onto her foot with a new poop bag. I thought she'd shake it off and get upset at it flapping around; much to my surprise she was totally happy with it and it stayed on for the whole walk! She never favored the foot again the whole way. I wish I'd had booties for her but in a pinch what I did worked and I imagine she was very happy to have someone notice and solve her problem. ❤

Massive effort on the groom and furnado cleanup 🫣 Someone may have already mentioned this, but it might be worthwhile to look into making the wall surface smoother and using a special enamel paint. I’m sure you would still need a little cleanup but maybe not so much as you currently have to do.
