  • In this video Quin: - willingly gives himself 5 min shrine timers for a permadeath run - fights Blue Bokoblin, the hardest boss of BOTW (and wins) - theorizes about Link's apple-picking levitation champion ability - discovers Link's crouch side hops after years of playing the game - wonders if Zelda spent her 100 years learning to beatbox - beats Ganon in the forests of Hyrule with a single arrow headshot - nearly allows his insatiable thirst to parry everything to end his run - leaves Hestu to cry over his lost maracas and most importantly: - never panics at all and was in fact completely confident and composed "I'm the hero of time, not time-management"

  • Unless you really want it to be more challenging, I think you should use Mipha's Grace and fairies, Quin. Mostly since you're in Master Mode, and it's going to be really difficult to fight enemies when you first start. But if you were playing in Normal Mode *then* I'd feel like it'd be too easy to use Mipha's Grace/fairies

    • Probably gonna do a rule where I can use one of each once

    • He's not using the OP DLC stuff so I think that's fair. No DLC chests, but get to use champion abilities and fairies. It's a lot more entertaining than using Majora's mask the whole playthrough or losing the run quickly. A nice middle ground that lets him test his skill without being boring to watch.

    • Honestly, I think Mipha’s Grace/Fairies are fair. In theory, Link would be accessing such aids in universe naturally, so I don’t think it would really cheapen a “permadeath” (where you are trying to simulate a more “realistic” only one shot approach, so to speak) run, in principle. If you can expect him to be doing something in canon to survive, I think it should be allowed.

  • I've seen Quin playthrough this game normally. I've seen him do the DLCs. I've watched as he sunk into the madness of the koroks. And even as he's done all the quests in the game. So, will I watch another BotW series despite seeing so many before? Of course I will! edit: For the shrine time limit, I think just having the rule that you have to complete them if you start them is probably enough. The shrines are super varied in their length, so putting a timer on it is probably always gonna feel easy for certain shrines and next to impossible for some others.

    • To be fair, how many times have you left a shrine without completing it in natural gameplay? Especially after your first blind run.

    • @@brianna7705 Well, none, but I have died a fair number of times in various shrines during my playthroughs. If I was playing with permadeath and was able to leave, I definitely would've, but Quin's removed that as an option for himself.

  • On a personal level I've done this and allowed myself Mipha's Grace but only by clearing her quest after all the other Divine Beasts just to make things a little more interesting, mostly because I feel like Ganon himself isn't the hardest boss in the game and by the point I reached him I had basically already won. Looking forward to how this goes!

I'd personally run a Permadeath run with no revival mechanics, since it seems a bit cheap that you could just fast travel to any fairy fountain and/or wait ~15 minutes to get a freebie. Anything else is fair game, though, I'd feel. :)

Free all the Great Fairies & fully upgrade every armour set that you collect. Collect the Ancient Armour set. When you help the Gerudo that makes jewellery, take the item that provides cold resistance to combine with the warm doublet to make it through the mountains to Rito Village.

  • To the fairies/Mipha's Grace: Healing with fairies is allowed, but reviving with them is not. Once per Perma-Death run, Mipha's Grace is allowed. If it activates a second time, you have to restart the run. Man, your fear is like an earthquake detection needle (Sonograph? I think?). From 100% panic to 100% calmness is less than 0.1 seconds.

  • *In today’s episode of Breath of the Wild…* The Hero of Time -Management,- The Hero of the Wild… after a century of recovery as the kingdom outside drew its final breath; as new grasses spread across the blackened, charred earth; as the populace was rebirthed from the ashes of its predecessors; as the goddess trapped within the princess held back an unknowably dark evil… finally, Our Light has returned. Hyrule will be free once again. It _must._ He mustn’t fail again. A new course has been set, a new timeline created, a new reality torn from the soil & given space to grow. Higher stakes, this time around. Finally, QuinBoBin will learn the concept of mortality; the final trial before he is gifted the title of… God Gamer. Permanent death, once a novelty, has turned from thought experiment to reality, now a nightmare. It is unfamiliar. It is terrifying. To a god, such pain can only be described as exhilarating; to a masochist, it is paradise. He mustn’t fail. Still, a trickster god plays tricks, though the ages-old soul of a King isn’t one to be crushed by Earth. A shame, it is; despite his status, such a sorry King truly deserves to be put -out of his misery- to rest. Nevertheless, gods make deals with what they cannot control, and so Quin must take the old man’s wings before setting off on _The Quest That Must Not Be Failed._ On The Great Plateau, a great seed of opportunity has been planted within this cursed reality. With the reversed sands of time comes the decay of progress that was once leaned upon; what was once a given must be scavenged for once more. And so, with a dive rated at a perfect 10/10, *Korok 1* (3:11) starts us out once more. Five minutes on a shrine is the perfect fit. The time itself matters not; the pressure of a challenge is what leads to anxiety, anxiety to panic, & panic to death. It needn't be mentioned that the shrines outside of the Great Plateau and the path to Kakariko Village will be much harder to recall the solutions for, having been seldom repeated & oftentimes cheated. Such a truth will be unveiled soon enough in Quin’s path. Saying a brief greetings to the uncovered *Korok 2* (5:58) through utilizing his recovered control of magnetism, before the cowardly Quin continues his courageous quest contingent on his capability to continue in contempt of the challenges before him. We will not see as many loading screens as before, seeing as the ichor of a champion shall not spill upon Hyrule’s green plains. Such is a great certitude; now, the debate over colors shall never occur. This does make the summarizer’s occupied task more treacherous… but a contract must be fulfilled, regardless of external constraints. Faithful greetings to *Korok 3* (13:08). Quin’s spell of confidence, however fleeting it may have been, is broken once he peers over the Shine walls and locks eyes with the unforgiving mass of VOID below him. Such is where he shall go, if he fails. (He mustn’t.) Such is where comments go, once unread. *Such is what must conclude our (mis)adventures for today.* *Today’s Korok Count: 3/900* *Total Korok Count: 3/900*

  • Big Speed! Great video as always. I did a permadeath run on master mode recently, totally makes the game feel fun again because you have to approach everything as a serious challenge. Especially the great plateau. I would say a limited number of fairies is okay, but no Mipha's Grace.

    • yeah that’s why I’m loving it, I usually go into this game just throwing myself at stuff so it’s nice to actually try and play well

  • One thing I think you should know is that the blight's health scales depending on the order you do them. So It would be best to do thunderblight first because He'll only have 800hp so it would make things a lot easier, rather than fight him last where He'll have 2000hp.

  • Here are some tips I found out doing my own no-death run: Collecting spirit orbs fully heals you. Completing shrines becomes a lot more rewarding. The blights don't have set stats. The first one you fight will always be the weakest in terms of pure strength. Keep that in mind if you're that scared of Thunder.
