Yes that’s awesome mine is May of 1943. Loos like it was hardly used. The bore is amazing. Little tight still to load it. First time firing it since I bought it. Was a little scared.

That's a nice rifle! I never had a chance to own one, but would like to one day before they are way beyond my price range. I have been lucky enough to fire a few of them and they function and fire flawlessly when maintained.

Mine is also tough to load a clip. Strong op-rod spring and maybe grease the clip rails a bit.

Last year i got a completely refurbished CMP M1 made sometime around ‘54-55. The ammo is a pain in the ass to find though and the price of it as well.

It’s not to en bloc clips I just played that part twice to accentuate the clip ejection and the signature “ping” known only to m1 garand rifles. Basically signaling you enemy that your out of ammo until you re load.

oh I see I thought it may have been an additional piece or a form of an extended mag for one which I had never heard of before. I should have considered that.

@@TheKinzlerBros right. I HEARD that's why they made the carbine model later to replace the big spring for the magazine which let the enemy know someone was reloading hence it being called a manufactured flaw in the Grand models system. idk if that's true though.

It’s an m1 garand but yes it is a 30.06 caliber but different load than modern 30.06 cartridges today.

Spendid weapon ! Seems it has never been used, not like my Winchester... but please do it justice, throw away this ugly web sling and find a good, auhentic, period made leather sling, whatever the price, your Garand deserves it !
