#restoration #ww2 #remington
Here is the restoration of an old 1945 Remington Rand from ww2. This firearm was brought back from the war and sat in a Barn for decades before finally meeting me. This 1911 is horrible pitted but does function still. This is a testament to how well designed the 1911 was. Hope you enjoy the video and consider subscribing. AS always thanks for watching!

    • I noticed as well and agree. It functions with purpose and well timed snap; not beating the action to death, but no soft slow-mo slide action from 3.5 gr of Bullseye H&G 168 softballs.

  • For those who might not know Remington Rand was a manufacturer of typewriters. One of many manufacturers who switched production of their signature products to make military equipment. Other makers of 1911 handguns were Union Switch & Signal company who were makers of railway switch equipment and the Singer sewing machine company.

  • I will echo the sentiment of previous commenters by saying why some people would allow that pistol to be so neglected. But since we don’t know the previous owners situation or mindset we shouldn’t judge them too harshly. You and your extensive skill set were able to resurrect an old warhorse and give it a new life and purpose. I own a Remington from a similar time period. It’s been well taken care of by me over the 50 years I’ve had it and will continue to serve with my son. Outstanding restoration!!!!! Thanks for sharing your video with us.

    • Yes you tell me. I can’t believe, well I can believe this happens so many firearms where made for the two huge wars and they came back after service and probly just threw there sidearm somewhere and couldn’t deal with the PTsd.

  • Seal 1 is what I use for my gun care... Fantastic products !! You could even cover all parts and use it as a lubricant as you put it back together : it leaves a protection layer even when you wipe it.
