  • Bruno, as far as I am concerned you are greatly missed. Your videos are a breath of fresh air from all the problems that surround us. I have a great interest in gliding and I do have a glider license, but do to the distance from nearest gliding clubs I do not participate in the sport. Your videos satisfy my eagerness to be in the air (just like being there). Well wishes and happy holidays.

  • Hi Bruno. I'm really hoping you will return. I check in frequently to see if you've resumed your videos. I notice I'm not alone. I love the way you inject exitement and fabulous commentary into all your videos, and this sets you apart from others involved with gliding. I sincerely hope you are well and able to return. From Australia (down under).

    • Thanks so much for the kind words Ralph. Yes, I plan on 2022 being a fun new year with new videos. I am surprised at how much my FAA suspension hurt my spirits and desire to make any videos. Time to pick up the pieces, rise from the ashes, and start having fun again. Cheers and thanks again for the encouragement. Bruno

    • You can really just take an ordinary flag and a rubber band and take it to a tailor. A tailor can sew it so it will wrap around the canopy.

  • Hey Bruno - bit of a random question but were you flying over Timpanogos on Tuesday? Went hiking with family and when we reached the saddle about midday we saw a glider sailing right over the ridgeline and thought "hey, maybe I know who's in that thing!" Just curious haha.

  • Bruno? It's been 3 months since you last went up (on video at least). I know, I know- it's the NATIONALS- I get it. AND, I know that it's a total pain to run video while gliding your heart out (to win, place or show), so- I'm not grinding you. But, it's JULY and I haven't seen a single video of Nephi, or any of your usual haunts, no mountain wave videos, no flying with buddies, no crazy 100+ mile "let's see if anything is going on over in ___?" Ummm, what's happening? Sort of missing strapping in & joining you for a nice glide. I don't need hiker loops although I do like thermal circling and some of the advanced acro that you often do... Not being mean, just reminding you that there are tons of us who just enjoy regular flights...

    • Thanks David for saying hi. The nationals was amazing. I took no video in the air. Why? I was crazy busy as both the event organizer and a participant. I am also pretty messed up in the head over my FAA 7 month suspension that is clearly now over. I am just not over it. They have made it hard for me to want to share my passion because they told me I will permanently lose my license next time with any slight infraction - intentional or not. Not sure what I will do going forward... Cheers, Bruno

    • @@BrunoVassel OK, I wasn't aware of your FAA suspension. I'm SURE that you're very upset about all of it. I do sincerely hope that you don't lose your passion for gliding- you certainly made it fun for those of us on the ground. Your passion translated very well. Good luck & thank you for organizing, planning & executing this years Nationals- I'm sure it was a challenge for the participants & fun for all. Maybe I can look back in your video library to get a handle on the suspension. I'm sorry because you are a bit of an ambassador to gliding flight. I hope you will share (privately) if I do not understand the ins & outs of what happened. Of course, I'd prefer NOT to bring it all back up for you... Please, be well! Thank you for responding- it's appreciated!

    • Bruno, I usually do not comment on anything but given your predicament I am moved to do so. I just want you to know that it was after watching your wonderful videos that I decided to go gliding once again (not exaggerating). There was so much I learnt by just watching your videos, and also enjoyed being up there with you, that I booked myself on a gliding course at Taupo Gliding Club NZ in December 2017. And it was a thrill to solo again at Taupo after previously having gone solo in my then home town Jaipur, India back in 1981. I have watched almost everyone of your videos and in my view they are so good. So here I am in India watching your videos because gliding as a sport in India is almost non-existent and dreaming of my next gliding holiday abroad. Covid scuppered some of my plans, but then there are those videos to watch on the internet! So gird your loins and take up the cudgel again Bruno. Edit out anything the FAA may object to or are likely to object to. Hoping for more. Cheers.
