In a bid to revolutionize Nigeria's film industry, the Federal Government has on Friday launched the nation's first-ever Creative SME Film Tech Academy in Abuja.
The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), an institution of government in partnership with IdealBox and Citi Polytechnic aims to address the critical need for skilled professionals in various aspects of film production and technology.
Leveraging SMEDAN's expertise in enterprise development, IdealBox's track record in innovation, and Citi Polytechnic's educational prowess, the academy seeks to equip aspiring filmmakers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of the creative economy.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Charles Odeh Director-General of SMEDAN, who was represented by Mrs. Charity Abah, while emphasizing the roles and importance of empowering SMEs, highlighted that the institution will provide necessary training materials to foster job creation, drive economic growth to the participants.
