  • 6:47 little bit of a nit pick here. Jacob doesn't use noflip (you can see him do a flip in the video). Otherwise great video!

    • i wouldnt call it "a bit of a mistake". Flip vs noflip is a pretty big topic in the clock space so its a pretty important detail to get wrong. (that being said noflip better)

      @Trexrush1@Trexrush1 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Trexrush1 I mean what he said about noflip becoming the new meta is technically true, but jacob doesn't use it. What do you mean by noflip better? the noflip method isn't defined as one method but the most popular at the moment is sheerin and 7simul (which again splits to bpaul 7simul and caleb's 7simul). because of this you can not just state that noflip is better. I wouldn't call it better just yet as it is still being developed but it has a lot of potential. Both WRs at the moment are also set with flip. Flip is more dependent on tps but you can still use advanced techniques such as pseudo skips and sub-4 is definitely possible with flip as Jacob and Carter Thomas have proved. In the end it comes down to the individual skill of the solver not the method.

  • This year was my first full year cubing (started mid 2021). Coming into 2022 I averaged about 40 seconds with a single pb of 35 seconds only knowing F2L and beginner method LL. I ended the year averaging 16 seconds with a PLL skip pb of 8.18 seconds and a full step pb of 9.62. Knowing up full PLL and almost full OLL and 3 easy zblls for good measure. Also at the start of 2022 I got my first 5x5 (a rubix brand). I averaged about 10 minutes. Now ending 2022 I have an MGC 5x5, I average low 3 minutes and have a pb of 2:51.37. I also got all the other NxN wca cubes (2x2 - 7x7). Can’t wait to see what happens in cubing in the next year

    @eddih2116@eddih2116 Жыл бұрын
    • For cross, I’d say watch a lot of example solves and look at the ways they solve multiple pieces at once etc. You can also experiment yourself creative ways to solve different cases For lookahead, make sure you can do every f2l case without thinking. You just look at two pieces that go together and muscle memory instantly knows what to do. That way, you can look around for your next pair while solving the pair before it. To start off, try doing untimed solves and slowing down a lot until your solves are smooth and your amount of pauses are minimal. Then you can gradually speed it up.
