Parking next to a load bay is never a good idea. Heck, parking at a regular parking lot can have dire consequences.
The semi missed the loading bay, not the Cybertruck. The CT was there first perfectly in front of his bay and probably loading Cargo into the back (actually it doesn't even matter why he was standing there). The fact is that the semi missed his assigned bay and smashed into another vehicle (CT) in a neighboring bay
Still better idea then buying this thing.
@@abgvedru hate it so much u needed to watch and comment yay!!
Why would you park that close to a loading bay?
Because Cybertruck owners have more money than brains.
Is not forbidden
6 feet!
It looked like he was literally parked in the loading dock. The Cybertruck owner was either an idiot or trying to commit insurance fraud.
Insurance. The highest payment I heard out the owner mouth? $1,600.00 a month.
That will buff out.
Buff the fender, glue the mirror on !
Time to market silver Bondo!
😄😄😄 My father is a television repair man. He has the ultimate set of tools, I can fix this!
The other aspect is that had the Cybertruck driver tried to move his vehicle, it could have legally complicated his damages claim. The truck driver could then lodge a contributory negligence damages claims. No matter who moved their vehicle, it was inevitable more damage would be sustained while the wedged vehicles scrape against each other. One should exercise caution and consider the potential legal implications of their actions, such as moving vehicles or making statements at the scene. The truck driver caused the problem and it was his responsibility to fully remedy the issue.
Attempting to shift blame onto the Cybertruck driver for trying to move their vehicle could be seen as an attempt to mitigate the truck driver's liability. Ultimately, each party's actions and the circumstances of the accident will be carefully scrutinized in any legal proceedings.
@@JoeyBlogs007 What legal procedings? Almost no insurance claims end up in court. Keep in mind how US insurance works. When driving, if the options are to potentially damage your vehicle, say by veering into a field, or to be hit by another vehicle, you should always choose the second option. If you chose the 1st, then the driver of the 2nd vehicle is not responsible at all.
@@arthurmoore9488Are you sure? You could be kill by the collision.
Wow, legal advice!!
To be fair to the driver of the truck, confusion over the load bay was probably due to the similarities between a refrigerator being loaded onto the bay and a parked CyberTruck. Cut the guy some slack, he will learn how attention to detail and a discerning eye are needed to avoid accidents like these. If he just took 10 or 15 seconds max, it would have been obvious that this was no fridge on a load bay.
Is that funny … real long for joke.
I have no idea why this is news
It's not. However,.....
It's of interest.
It’s news because it’s a cyber truck it by a semi truck! (At least by its trailer). Actually, it withstood that hit quite well. The damage done to Cybertruck is not structural. The body panels are bolt ons and can be removed and replaced. Not sure about the door though. I don’t know if you have to replace the whole door or if you can just re skin it.
It got mildly side swiped and sustained probably $15k in damage hahahaha if anything I predict this will not be positive for cybertruck...
This is news on a channel that specializes in news about Electric vehicles.
Not even his blind side, terrible truck driver.
What a cyber non-news bit😂
What damage would that have done to a Toyota Tundra. Keep smiling everyone
The bed would have been crumpled and pulled off the frame, as would the front fender.
Basically what the reply said. If you think toyota wpuld have faired better you under estimate what a semi truck can do to a vehicle. Honestly i was expecting more dmg on the cyber truck but i bet its still mostlikely totaled because its terrible design
@@makoshark40 Your right but a Toyota can be easily fixed and the "cyber" most likely will be a wright off
@@MsRs232 yeah i did say the cybertruck is mostlikely totaled but i didnt mention the aspect that the toyota would be easier to repair and mostlikely wouldnt be totaled. You are correct as long as the roof pillar didnt get deformed

The insurance company will total the pile of junk.
LMAO, that’s a side swipe. Of course it’s not going to be completely destroyed. The sides of the cyber truck are a flat as a barn door…like the trailer. As Max would say…”missed it by that much chief” holding his fore finger and thumb together 😂.
what are you going to report next? cats sleeping under a Cybertruck?
Cats on the cybertuck that would be cool
Cybertrucks rusting and staining and not running.
Dogs and cats hijack a cybertuck and force owner to drive them to pet smart
You have to admit - it improved the look of the Cybertruck.
The Broken Window Franz von Holzhausen look, for free!!
Semi-trucks often can't see exactly where they're backing up to. All they have is those 2 mirrors on the side of the cab more than 53 feet away from the trailer's tail, and if the truck is turned one of those is useless. Very seldom is there a viable spotter available. The only indicator they have when something goes wrong is they feel an impact. By then it's to late.
And yet the smart ones learn how to do it without accidents, I have watched them.
@@tedmoss With experience backing into a bay you have done before, it can be no problem. Otherwise, safe truck drivers use the GOAL method. Get Out And Look. Spotters provide the best solution. Mirrors help. Backing without knowing where you are going is asking for trouble. Been there, done that for many years. The Cybertruck had no business parking in a loading bay.
And in our next session we’re talking about the invention of cameras!
Insurance. We cannot verify the batteries integrity. Therefore the Cybertruck will be written off. Basic reason why EV Insurance is expensive as opposed to ICE Insurance.
Watch Munro live bro 😂
This has to change.
@@danharold3087 The insurance co. can't assess the risk yet, they have to adjust the cost of insurance when they have the data, it will take time.
@@tedmoss Data for batteries. This is like claiming to be collecting the recovery rate for an illness when you shoot anyone who becomes infected. It is 100% fatal.
@@tedmoss We have over a decade of data on how batteries hold up plus realtime data on the Cybertruck from the moment it was first turned on to the time it was hit and then beyond that. Tesla's with their live update connection relays all the data about the entire vehicle back to Tesla so that they have a complete history of everything that happens to the vehicle and its systems. Due to insurance company price gouging Tesla has jumped in to provide owners of their vehicles more reasonably priced insurance where the law allows them to. Nissan is also doing similar. Likely as more EV owners start cancelling their insurance policies and start switching over to their OEM's more reasonably priced coverage the mainstream insurance companies will start making adjustments so that they won't continue to lose customers. Best!
It's a total loss. . . The A pillar shifting that much and given that the truck is a unibody frame means the truck is damaged beyond repair and the only solution is to build a new truck. Now on one hand someone could say "well the trucks very safe," and they'd be right, but the moment theres damage to the frame, the structural rigidity of the truck needs to be called into question and the truck is therefore a total loss. Also maybe the car can drive, I have significant doubts as anything could have happened to the tire. Maybe the axle broke, maybe a bearing was bent. There are so many what if when it comes to the wheel that even if the truck could drive off, it's still not safe.
"Missed by 6 feet"
will be interesting to see how long it will be and the cost for this repair.
Could be a write off, damage doesn't look minor to me. Frame could be bent.
I’m wrapping my Cybertruck in a reflective tape for easy visibility.
Got to wrap it in something, else it's going to be a nightmare to keep looking tidy.
Rust will do that
@@anglosaxonmike8325rust? What rust? Are you talking about the brake dust? Your ignorance is showing.
'tis but a flesh wound !
...it's totalled. Cracked the gigacast front end structure and will take months to repair (sarcasm).
In an accident like that the trucking company will have to buy him a completely brand new vehicle. That's standard operating procedure for almost all trucking companies in North America.
What's the wait like for one? the guy won't be made whole for at least 5 years?
@@francismarion6400 they will most likely fully pay off his loan if he has one. If he already paid the truck off they'll have to pay him fair market value via a check.
My guess would be at least $20,000 repair bill to the Cybertruck
its not worth fixing. they'll never straighten that out
Missing context….was the semi there first and the CyberTruck squeezed into that spot after the fact , blocking in the semi ? Where I live that is considered to be ‘criminal’ mischief if the semi knew the CyberTruck was there and hit it .
@@Withnail1969And you know this how?
@@dominicm2175 Go back and listen to the part where its stated that the semi driver missed the loading dock by about 6 feet and backed into the Cybertruck pushing it into the building and locking it in there so that the Cybertrucks owner couldn't move it along with how the semi driver further damaged the Cybertruck when he tried to pull out. The full context was there in the first few minutes of the report. Reading the full report in Main Stream Media the owner of the Cybertruck has been using that spot for the past decade to charge his EV's. Jimmy the owner of the Cybertruck had just taken delivery of it a little over a week before the incident. The security cameras in the Cybertruck automatically activated and caught the semi driver hitting the parked Cybertruck along with the additional damage the semi did while pulling away. Jimmy the owner of the Cybertruck will be documenting the process of getting things settled with the insurance company, trucking company, etc, etc and the repairs completed. This took less than a minute to find out the more complete backstory here. Best!
If you are worried about these type of costs or time to repair, which I am assuming CT owners aren't, you are better off getting an F150 Lightning. Using mostly standard F150 parts, you will be up in running in no time at a fraction of the cost. But again, I don't think most CT buyers care. It is something I do consider though, when buying trucks for our fleet. Time is also money. I am looking forward to his documenting how long it takes, costs, and procedures for him to get his truck fixed.
I can only imagine the cost of replacing those panels. He better be insured.
Genius Parked right next to a loading dock. 😂😂
This tractor-trailer driver will receive points against his or her CDL license, which will also result in frequent stops at the weigh station, if the driver is employed by a company. There is a guarantee that the semi-truck driver will be fired. This video could unfold in one of two ways: Either the Tesla Cybertruck driver parked next to the trailer and the semi-truck driver was attempting to leave, or the Tesla Cybertruck was parked at the loading dock and the semi-truck driver was upset. The CDL driver 53 foot van is what we calling in the US but it’s really a reefer a.k.a. refrigerated trailer had swing doors which makes the trailer rear wider with the doors open. If it was a roller door like a garage that reefer trailer with been OK but still, it takes balls to do something like that to a vehicle let alone the Tesla. I would’ve called a wrecker a.k.a. tow truck for tractor trailers to come jack up the rear of the trailer and move it over. you got a way out to options. Is it cheaper to call a wrecker or is it cheaper to continuously tear up someone’s vehicle? I don’t think calling the records on cost you $100,000 to move something over. Would I drive something like this which is a refrigerated van? I keep my rear trailer doors closed my back up to the loading dock to make sure that I’m dead center on the left side and right side then I pull forward about 6 to 7 feet swing my doors open then back up you don’t ever back up without bump the dock first with swing doors cause there’s a chance that the doors will close on you and there’s also a chance that you’re gonna miss it. Apologize for the long paragraph but as a CDL truck driver also 1 million miler which basically means I’ve been driving 1,000,000 miles safely. I have a lot of opinions when it comes to stupid ass robbersa.k.a. CDL drivers

Why is this good? Strong isn't better! Crumple zone's are so important to protect occupants from injury.
As a truck driver, this mess happens all the time. I am not taking away responsibility from the semi truck driver, but a lot of people parked their cars right next to a dock especially in tight areas. I promise you they want to be here intentionally to get a payoff a lot of them will ask you to pay them under the table, so it does not affect your license
That may be true, but my girlfriend parked my car right behind a school bus barn and was surprised when it got run over by someone backing out without looking.
wow that truck driver was a silly fool
Do you even Truck bro?
Oh my ! I hope the owners ok but the first thing that came to mind was Nail It to the Wall by Stacy Lattisaw !
Side-swiped / Scraped, yes Crashed, not really. Repair isn't going to be cheap though. A lot of body panel alignment work. Not sure how much damage to the supports under the panels will be needed.....
And the big question is did it bend the frame. this is new ground it will take a few of these to have a base line. one things for sure if it so much as put a scratch on that battery box well it's going to turn into 2 refrigerators and a stove.
CyberTruck was BLOCKING the loading dock, while it was plugged in charging there ... did Semi driver get angry?? ..loading dock rage?
Yep. I wondering the same. Whole lot of diesel jealously in the world.
it will all come out in the car wash.....
Here’s some wacky thoughts on the Cybertruck! I’m curious about the possibility of two inventions. The Cybertruck mirror is removable. So can it be replaced with a slightly different design? What I have in mind is the same mirror but it has a telescoping shaft that extends it out an extra 12 inches (30 cm) for more visibility for towing a trailer? The other idea is using sliding doors instead of swing doors on the Cybertruck. Sliding doors are common on vans and panel trucks. They might also be helpful on a Cybertruck, so to open the front door, it would move to the side 6 inches, then slide forward and the rear door would slide towards the back to open. I was thinking how much effort would it take to convert a Cybertruck to a wheelchair access taxi or an ambulance? Having a low floor in the cargo box would make that possible. One more wacky idea... that bulletproof ...ness feature. Lincoln Navigators routinely get bulletproof upgrades for VIPs. Who would consider doing a genuine bulletproof upgrade to the Cybertruck? The added weight might mean doing it properly might need to wait for a next gen battery chemistry, so you don’t need to charge this up every 20 miles.
Either way, no matter how good a job they do repairing the Cybertruck, the value of the Cybertruck will never be the same upon resale. The owner might need to seek material damages compensation via the courts, not only for repairs via the truck insurer, however also devaluation of the vehicle. Diminished value claims typically fall under the umbrella of material damages law.
Yeah, I can imagine recovering damages from an unlicensed, uninsured, drunk driver.
Well, it didn't crumple like a most vehicles would.
Most vehicles would have been scorched over without as much damage. And the doorstop wasn't HIT by the truck...it was SIDESWIPED.
removing a slidly crushed car part vs full body staneless steel
the Cybertruck still looks cool even with a few scars... but im looking forward to learning how long it will take him to have it repaired ?
Ask again in a few years
"Crashed"? More like scraped. The skin would have peeled off the side of an ordinary pickup.
I think the Cyber will be fine cheers mate
I will tell you what doesn’t hold up in any Tesla vehicle accident. Your insurance premium. FYI to insure a Tesla here in Australia it’s roughly double the premium to a standard ICE vehicle.
I’m not a fan of EV’s but I try to be impartial. I recently (Feb 2024) renewed the insurance on my VW Golf with AAMI. While I was talking to the lady I said I was considering buying either a current model Tesla 3 or a VW Tiguan and could she give me a quote on both scenarios. She tapped away and there was only a slight difference between the two cars, the Tesla being a little more expensive. So I’m not sure what’s going on with all the insurance horror stories. And I am actually genuinely looking at the new Tiguan, I don’t want an EV.
@@MrPropanePete I just went to AAMI website, put in a Tesla Y and it was a $1510 premium with a $1450 excess. The Tiguan R Line 2024 model was $916 premium with a $950. excess. If you increase the excess on the Tiguan the premium drops to $717. Less than half the price. Thats in Brisbane.
And it should be 4 times. They cost a HUGE amount to repair. That is IF you can find a repairer willing and insured to actually take the job.
@@MrPropanePete I wrote a long response with details I checked AAMi pricing and it got deleted. In essence the Tesla is twice the insurance premium and a higher excess so not sure what you’re talking about.
@@ricecrash5225 Tesla have their own insurance in states where it is allowed.
This actually pretty impressive, if that was another car damage would be allot worst, as a truck driver i see tractor trailers back into car at loading docks
Hope he had it in fender bender mode. Mite void his warranty.
Don't worry! The owner waited 8 years for cybertruck delivery, he can wait 8 months for the repairs.
That same thing, any other standard ICE truck would do a lot more body damage unless it totals the cyber cast
In tomorrow’s news, rain fell on a Tesla model 3….
and it rusted
Okay, that is bad for the Cybertruck owner. No crumble zones means if someone was inside, they would have had all the energy transfer into their squishy body.
The only Cybertruck repair video I’ve seen is JerryRigEverything's. He shot his truck and welded it up in a separate video.
One was recently launched off a 4.5 bank at moab and did not totally clear the bank on the other side. DblCapCrimpin Has vids on his misadventure and the 1st installment of the quite major repair.
@@danharold3087 Sounds like he’s got a plan to fix his truck. There will be pioneers that ford a trail for others.
@@douggolde7582 Indeed. The damage as in how it failed is informative.. It is interesting that the rear casting failed in a way the is relatively easy to repair. If people start manufacturing the repair they might sell it as a reinforcement. I find it interesting that the airbags are smart enough not to deploy. He was not hurt so the right choice.
Why was he parked in front of a load bay in the first place? Maybe he was unloading or loading from there, possibly with a large Costco pickup.
Did anyone notice the Cybertruck was plugged into an electric power outlet in the wall on the drivers side?
Any bets the Cyber truck will be vary devalued and written off.?
I’d sure like to hear about what the insurance cost are in the U.S. for Cyber trucks. For some reason it doesn’t get discussed.
As opposed to a conventionally painted car body, which if damaged, body panels could potentially be repaired and repainted, I would imagine that it would be pretty close to impossible to repair these unpainted stainless steel panels, even with minor damage. They would need to be replaced by genuine Tesla panels if you want it to look new again. Wonder if that is factored into insurance premiums on these cars?
I think if you have a semi crunch into the side of your car you won´t be repairing your side panels but putting in new panels
Should semi truck drivers be required to have CDLs?
They do have to have a CDL
This guy was the one guy stuck with a "don't C" DL...
The steering tie rod is connected to a gearing mechanism and electric motors. Forcing the wheel to turn would typically not cause damage but in this case, the force of the semi truck yanking on it and possibly pulling it hard against the steering lock may damage components which could cause an accident in the future. Nothing different here than a standard steering setup by the way. This would be a concern on any other car out there with standard steering linkage.
If it don't track, it needs repair.
This is as stupid as Donald trump story
No, what you have is a Cyber truck parked at a loading dock, a loading dock design for semi trucks. Shouldn't have been there to begin with.
If the battery is damaged, it needs to be replaced. If he ignores it and keeps driving, it may just catch fire.
Damn we have an expert here.
@@DzeiEidz Graduated from Walmart.
But on the other hand, Stainless Steel holds up to fire very well could be time for a cookout.
It should fare pretty well considering it’s heavier than the semi.
I'm thinking this was a setup, why the hell would anyone park in a loading dock just to charge up?
[Possibly intentional ...] Cybertruck 'blocking' the loading dock. The usual course of action is to find the driver and insist the Cybertruck be moved, but no way he didn't see it. Dollars-to-donuts that the loading area had "NO PARKING" signage, which would put the driver at fault. Semi drivers have a wicked sense about who's boss in any given situation. That trucker knew what he was doing, and he knew that Cybertruck didn't 'legally' belong there. Unlikely your insurance will pay, when your in a clear violation of common sense.
Was there a loading bay on the opposite side of the Cybertruck? The semi truck was behind an entry door, Not a loading bay. Was that a contractor or a yard dog trying to duck that trailer? And who parks a new cyber truck where there is semi trucks driving around ?
Interesting. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think that’s fixable because of the exoskeleton. Although if it’s drivable then it might be a cool scar.
The battery cover has a scratch on it. It has to be totaled .
Now find out how much the repair bill is for the CT. Probably totalled.
Be interesting to see how much this will cost to repair or if it ends up as landfill.

Why was the Cybertruck parked at the semi’s loading dock?
personally, ive worked in enough warehouses, loading and unloading trucks, that i would never park my vehicle in a loading dock. thats just silly! and here is the result.
Why did the semi back into the Cybertruck? Didn't he use his side mirror? Obviously not a good driver he was off center from the loading Bay by at least 6 to 7 ft. That's of course assuming it was an "accident" which it probably wasn't...
I ran car parts for five years to various semi loading docs and never had a problem at all. The driver should be fired and CDL revoked.

Very odd why the cyber truck is in a loading bay.
What is the point here? - that 2mm stainless steel is slightly more durable than 0.7mm of aluminium? Or - that due to its unique construction even a light sideswipe totals the Cybertruck? If this happened to an ICE F-150 any Ford body shop would quickly replace a few cheap body panels and you would drive on. If you took this “lightly damaged” Cybertruck to a repair shop I doubt they could even repair it. I would not be surprised if this story ends with a completely new replacement truck.

Oh GAWD this isn’t be “hit by a semi”. I guarantee you when a Cybertruck actually gets hit by a semi it’s not going to be a win for the Cybertruck. 🤦♂️
50,000 thousand in damage to cyber truck
Could the Telsa truck crab all 4 wheels to the left and move away from the semi?
Truck hits car oh wow, big news LOL
These Tesla trucks are almost as wide as Hummers aren't they?
The cyber truck was charging in the loading bay. I’d say that truck driver was pissed off that he was in his way and did it purposely.
That's how a narcissist thinks.
@@francismarion6400 narcissism implies intelligence but if the truck driver did that on purpose that’s just angry little man syndrome not nothing to do with intelligence
@@gregwatling4041 I was talking about you.
@@francismarion6400 I think you better have a look in the dictionary at what a narcissist is. But I definitely believe you’re an antagonist
😮😮😮😮 WELL I NEVER. give me just one minute for research and then buddy boy ITS ON.@@gregwatling4041
Dude, didn't crash into it, reversed into it at slow speeds. CLICK-BAIT!!!
Guy is going to make the company broke after it’s totaled $170k damages 😂😂😂😂
Needs four wheel alignment maybe bent steering rods ECT. Not sure...
Morning mate
What's that going to do to a pedestrian.
I’m not asking questions here. Too many to even contemplate.
