RIP brother.
Wow. He’s a WW2 veteran too. This guy must have a lot of stories.
I bet you
if he still remembers lol
I remember ur mom@@daskohlenstoffeinheit1971
That's something you don't forget !@@daskohlenstoffeinheit1971
@@daskohlenstoffeinheit1971he passed away
This is what you actually call a lifetime of service. Him and l.c. buckshot Smith would make good partners.
Absolutely!
Someone needs to make a TV show or miniseries starring partners Hardin and Buckshot haha
Oh I'd like to see a movie on that partnership ... hahaha
They would just drive around giving young cops a hard time
Yes bro!!!
RIP Bill Harden. Legend has it that he's still doing his duty even on the otherside.
Damn
I wouldn't think the afterlife would require law enforcement... BUT, you never know. LOL.
@@StrangeScaryNewEnglandthese people are so dumb I swear😂
I would bet on it, good job Deputy
can you even imagine how much the technology has changed in all that time? service revolvers to glocks, a suit to a bulletproof vest, all the new iterations of police vehicles, it must be amazing. if he retires at 75 i hope he writes a book!
Definitely!!
When the Dodge Polara was the standard police car he already had 20 years in service. When the Crown Victoria became the standard he would have 40 years. Amazing!
@@nightflyer3242 I was about to joke he started out riding a horse
He's 97 year old he'll have worked as a policeman for 75 years
Each of those stripes on his lower sleeve represents 5 years of service. There are 15 of them. I’ve done the maths, it’s 75 years!
Yay
@Openlightstudio Production 74 relax
His arms need to be longer so he can wear all his service stripes!
they're chevrons dumb ass
@@JordanOHairie a chevron is a inverted V, kinda like this “^”For instance, the SGT insignia is 3 chevrons. What you guys are talking about are service strips/Hash marks. “It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt” Atleast know what your talking about before being a ass man.
Wore the same hat since 1953. That is a level of dedication we all strive for yet very few can even dream to sustain. His integrity was unmatched. Bless him. May he rest in GLORY!
I wish I could live somewhere where crime is so low, your great grand dad could be a cop
@El Sucio Federali It's a giant senior citizen orgy down there... ain't no party like a lemon party
Vermont is nice.
@@enchxntedd5826 Vermont is 96% white. No coincidence.
@@SlopJedi Oh really? I took guess. I'm Canadian lol.
Go to a white majority area and you'll do fine.
I called my career at 41 years and the technology had changed so much in that time, so I can only imagine the even greater changes he saw in his years of service ! Well done Deputy Hardin !
How old R u? Judging by your initials, you'rea deputy
King Henry personally taught him the fingerprint system lol
Wow. I had to throw in the towel after 18 years. Amazing. 1000% respect.
Just curious, why’d you leave? Just get burnt out?
@@x92811 Not a police officer, but a lot of officers retire because the job can can get really tiring. Dealing with others problems, having to have your guard of 24/7, yeah a lot of them get burned out. Some also have to medically retire, the list can go on. 😂😂
18 years as a police officer is nothing to scoff at! I don’t think I’d be able to do that! Thank you for your service!
Thank You For Your Service!!!!!
I retired after 21 years as an LEO and I now hate people!
He could have pulled my grandfather over who is 85 now. He lived in Fort Worth Texas in the 60s😄
I guess he reached 75 years by now, congrats Sir!
This man is a true legend. His life is Law enforcement. Imagine the thousands of people he's served
Bill Harden, Should Meet another long serving "LEO" his name is L.C "Buckshot" Smith he is 91 years old he is the oldest working Officer in Arkansas. These guys can make a movie together Called Old Timers, Starring them, Clint Eastwood, Betty White as the Secretary at the department. Sounds funny 🤣 Congratulations for both of these men for their service, most people are thinking about retirement around the age of 65-70. Most people go home and are bored out of their mind, die of just being alone. Working keeps your mind sharp, interacting with people. Some people don't even get to see these guys age While working.
I saw the same video and thought the same thing after seeing this one !
They should make this a movie.
I’m 19. I Plan to keep working until I’m 116 and a half years old.
Love this. God I miss those old boy's. When right was right and wrong was wrong and people were innocent until proven guilty. And we faught for the victim and not the conviction. Love this xx
Holy crap brother, keep up the good fight sir, thank you for your service
Polecat likes little boys watch out
I pulled the plug at age 72 after 42 years as an LEO--can't imagine still doing it at 90 + Kudos
But this year there's a 91 year old cop so he should get a award
This guy is 97 here?
no the other guy is 91 years old, this one here served for 74 years
Just saw a video about the oldest man in law enforcement but he was only 91 so I guess he’s been unseated but either way they are both wonderfully inspiring men! Thanks to both of them for their service.
Officer buckshot is 91 years old with 46 years of law enforcement service, This guy in the video is 97 years old with 74 years of law enforcement service.....
@@camodude4316Correction. Officer Buckshot had 65 years of service when he retired.
That generation will never be again, they had utter integrity, respect, and dignity!
Rip Deputy Hardin, he passed away in February
Aww no... 😢
Him and Buckshot need to team up, that would be a great remake of Lethal Weapon
What a great guy. Don’t ever retire sir. You’re to valuable! He received that hat the year I was born. 1953
Absolutely awesome!! Thank you for your service Deputy Hardin! You are so awesome, and all cops are awesome! Blue (police) lives matter first and foremost!!! I love the respect that the newscasters gave!
This shows what one can do when you set your mind to it
Wow an army war vet and 75 years of law enforcement. I salute you and have a great respect for you.
When he first started he knew Smith & Weston.
What an absolutely awe-inspiring man. WWII veteran and still a good and trusted policeman! I salute you, Deputy Bill Hardin.
I love how these county sheriff's are so country, they all wear cowboy hats.
And we don't like liberals

He is an inspiration to all law enforcement officers around the world.
Amazing.. Respect!
Geezus!!! Those service stripes LOL
No kidding heh. When there is an international shortage of gold thread we know why!!!!!
A lot of officers are young, but there are some old ones as well.
Good on you Mate from the Sheriff's Office in Melbourne Australia
This is so cool some super old cop officer who served and saved people.
Thank you for your service!
The oldest solider in military history was Fusilier (private) jean Thurel he served in the French army from September 17, 1716 to 29 January 1792 75 years and four months he saw combat first in the war of polish succession in 1733 and his last war was the American revolution in 1782. He was born in 1698 and died in 1707 at age 108. .
Just imagine the stories this legend of man could tell
Imagine getting pulled over and this guy comes to the window.
I'd not give him a bit of trouble.
This guy wrote my great grand pappy a ticket ...
I've never seen so many service stripes!
He's NOT the oldest. Lt. X Y Brown, of the Jacksonville, NC Police Department, turned 100 years old on November 2nd 2021 and is still very actively working every day!
I LOVE THIS!!! Thank you for your service, Deputy.
THANK UCDOR YOUR SERVICE !!
Much honor and respect sir
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE THERE SIRRR. GOD BLESS YOU.
74 years. How many days PTO do you get for that?
Well you get around 1hr for every 40hrs worked, sooo around 10 days per year....750 days or almost two full years!
Welp, Fezzik ("There are four of us ... if we find the lady. Hello, Lady!") if'n he's still showin' up fer work after 75 years, I don't think he cares! ;-D
@@Kenngo1969 you’re probably right. “It’s not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don’t even exercise”
For the amount he's accrued - the rest of his life.
God bless this man...
1:10- HOLY SHIT, ELMER KEITH AND BILL JORDAN WOULD BE PROUD!
RIP brother!
He's not dead yet because he DIDNT retire. He gets up and moves every day and doesn't just sit in some nursing home.
Exactly!
I think he tried to arrest Billy The Kid early in his career.
He looks amazing for his age
This guy pulls up on his horse with his 6 shooter on his hip then pulls out his flask of moonshine
He gives people tickets for going 3 over via horseback 😂 he’s old school.
Amazing God bless him
He ain't the fastest gun but he is the most distinguished
Wow amazing! Thank you Sir 🇺🇸🙏🏾
Shout out everybody from the buckshot video
Wow so nice still serving the people
" Buckshot Smith" in Camden Arkansas is a 90 plus year old officer.
So that makes this officer several years older at 97 (probably now 98)
King amongst men.
I think the most impressive part of this entire story is that the hat is in PERFECT condition and older than my father by 5-ish years. Mind-blowing.
Guy's earned so many Chevron's he has to wear 2 long sleeve shirts to fit them all.
Wow! That's dedication! Two week police academy though. 😳 He should write a bio about his life as a LEO. Thestoriess he must have to tell.
Respect, Sir, pass it all onto the recruits...
At he have a good heart to do what he done he have ever stop be a law .
Wow that’s amazing!!
Its a Great Miracle!!! Hallelujah!!!
Respect 🙌
my dad lived in johnston county
I like how the service hash marks on the sleeve of his uniform run up past his elbow 😄
Wow, that’s wonderful!
His service record must be longer than War & Peace
We need an update
Hes dead

That's very admirable ❤ 😄
Man needs a movie about him
How is he doing now?? Its been a year
I respect him up to 100%
Wow! I wonder how's the man's doing now! Did he reached his 100th Birthday? So many questions 😁
He died at 99
Ohhhhh dangit @@gangstagamegangstagame4467 😌
Hope im doing as well as him when im 97, dont want to just laxe around
He's only doing that because he's in a smaller town. If he wasn't a major Metropolitan town he'll be long gone already and retired😮 so old to be play Cops and robbers at old age like that. He obviously didn't have nothing more to expand his life on because he kept loving what he did for work.
amazing! i dout ill live that long.
WOW- INSPIRATION!!!
I can remember back when. I can remember when the police stations didn't have bullet resistant glass. I can remember when the deputies were up in their 80's. Wear their ike jackets to work. Carried revolvers.
Bless
Don't mess with Texas
Hats off to you sir
Respect Sir.
Thank you
Appreciate you!
Do you know he died?
I cannot ever appreciate the word of 'gifted'. FUCK SAKES.
This man can still take down any crook he comes across
Outstanding lifelong service is how we should all strive to be like this man.
Uh no we shouldn’t, there are too many things that are so wrong with this, he needs to move on!
@@hueyfreeman9297 dumb ass libtard
It was awfully kind for them let him keep his job for that long. But then you gotta ask yourself, realistically, what could he possibly do effectively at that kind of age that his job requires?
