Luka outmatches James Harden and Chris Paul in the clutch! After going full "Trae Young" with an 1-9 start and pretty much struggling for 45 minutes, scoring only 10 points, Luka Dončić steps up his game with an 11-0 run in under 2 minutes of the last 3 minutes of the game, bringing his Dallas Mavericks from -8 to +3 in a matter of 4 possessions and finishing with 21 points. Clutch gene confirmed!

I’m watching this in 2024, I can’t believe this was over 5 years ago already. I remember this game like it was yesterday
Yeah buddy unfortunately time is the flying....there comes tomorrow and u realize that u r old😢😢😢😢.....but we have our Mavs 👍👍 👍👍 right....cheers v Bro form the sunny Portorose Slovenia ❤❤❤❤
Same. I was still in middle school back then and now I’m in college. Time passes by so quickly and it’s been amazing to see Luka improve every year
Luka Doncic - Step back three James Harden - Three back steps.
Underrated
Three Step Backs would've been better
Rick Astley yeah he ruined a perfect opportunity
that's a foul
@@ChiriConCarne yeah he steps back three times but it technically isn't a foul as he doesn't catch the ball until the 2nd step back I think.
The most underrated thing about this whole thing is Harden airballing a three, and CP3 missing two free throws.
Harden and Westbrook will never win a championship they suck. All they want is $$$
Doncic was just in goatmode in the clutch
mastyer0fReality i don’t like harden and Westbrook but you can’t be bad and win MVP, and average a triple double as a gaurd.
@@jpeakin8638 you can't win with them either. They can play offense, at the expense of victory. They don't suck but they're losers.
mastyer0fReality yea your right
Euroleague MVP vs NBA MVP
more like Hawks wants Oklahoma college 😂star than Euroleague MVP
@Ben Daulton Stupid aregument, everyone knows he only plays for his personal numbers. Doesn't do anything to help the team
@@ninjalobsterpr1292 how ?? He make players around him better
@Ben Daulton ??????????????? Whattt
might be an NBA MVP vs NBA MVP in a yr or two
dirk can retire in peace Harden just discovered his kryptonite
No comments?

I was watching it live and just going ... bananas! This guy is unbelievable! Struggling the whole game, but when it matters, he was there. This is the definition of a star. He gets better when he feels the pressure.
The exact opposite of James Soften and LeBrick James
Super calm and focused under pressure. Its like he loves it.Wants it.
MAMBA MENTALITY
@@dr.murder2690 lebron came back from a 3-1 finals and won thats clutch
@@crazyhorse9041 Draymond was unjustly suspended Bogut was injured and I know LeBrick dropped 40 in that game 5 but come on it was Kyrie who did the work down the stretch and it was Kyrie who sunk that clutch 3 pointer in game 7 and you all morons giving all the credits to LeBrick !!!!
I don't think I have ever seen a rookie before erupt like this in the end of the game... what a player!
When Luka's angry, he's angry .....
MJ rookie season bro he did this type many times thats why they call this jordan clutch by luka
Manu Ginobili don't you ever forget.
Mitchell did it against pelicans last year and scored 41
@@ardinhajihil5011 MJ WAS 22 YEARS OLD ROOKIE..LUKA 19
luka then : thin, agile and scores on everyone luka now: big mac but still scores on everyone
Scores 2x more.
This kid is literally a mycareer player on 2K just unreal lmao
This kid is my neighbour in Slovenia 😊💪🏼
@@kikoloko1606 lol cap
@@swimfan752 theres more people in a lot of U.S. cities then there is in the entire country of Slovenia. So they're all kinda like neighbors damn near. There's not a lot of them.
i can not believe this was 2 years ago lmao. i still remember screaming watching it live
Because if damn Covid the time feels so fast.
Я тебе завидую.Видел близко этого феноменального игрока.👍
"This ain't no ordinary rookie"
He show Harden how to do proper step back.
Hahaha
As He invented step back.
Harden and Don are the only players I see that do that well.
Harden got it
This game should have been a massive red flag for the league. Calm, composed and absolutely torched the Rockets who were en route to make a deep Playoffs run.
I think every great player has one game they can consider their "defining moment" where the world gets put on notice that we're seeing a superstar in the making. This was Luka's.
Rest is history hope he wins tomorrow
Yesterday it was his virtuoso vs the Suns
This is the game that "America" gots to know Luka. We Europeans allready knew who the DON was.
this is the game you know luka is taking over the league in a few years...with a game down 8 in 3 minutes, where you score 10 points, not shooting well in the whole game, you decide to takeover the game with you sheer confidence. Superstar gene is right there
exactly
i feel like he prolly downplayed in his rookie year just because he was the rookie lol he showed up when the team needed him
This was honestly the one of most impressive stretches of clutch scoring. It’s definitely somewhere up there with T-Mac’s 13
and carried by a rookie, unreal
nowhere near

That 60 pts...
2:43 - "If you don't know, now you know!" Legendary phrase for the incoming legend.
Luka legacy game
Three years later, Luka beat Paul up again. Luka is always clutch, while Harden and Paul basically always chocked.
i will never forget this game.
This game made me a fan
Dallas is blessed. Dirk now Luca. What a great kid
2:38-2:44..."Simply priceless!" We miss you Dirk (walked over there like a Dad getting hyped over his Son 😂)!
the game luka practiced the step back
the last three minutes were magical. .what a moment to remember. .and it was done against the vaunted and premier rockets. . and luka was just 19 and rookie at that. . . . . . . .the mav's fans were stunned by the magic and did not line to exit but wait to have a last glimpse of their new god passing them for the dugout. .
well written.
this player gonna bring the mavericks back to greatness just like Dirk did
this aged well
@@Joker-si5cg it was one year ago lmao
@@justanordinaryguy658 thats the point.
@@Joker-si5cg It did age well, though. He already has them back to the WCF with no stars to help him.

Handsome luka doncic😍
This was official start of respecting him in NBA.
I could watch that step back a 100 times and not get bored of it.
Here after luka's interview with jj redick
This is damn beautiful, i could watch him all day
Fresh out the podcast. Man he just said this was the start of the stepback
same here :)
Well done Slovenes, nice talent you have there. Cheers from your Croatian neighbors.

@@kauvran His dad is half Serb, actually. Luka a quarter Serb, but to the Serbs, that's 100% Serb. Because fuck maths. Nikola Tesla rolling in his grave.
@@kauvran Plenty of Serbs are born in Slovenia and Croatia. Just like Nikola Tesla. They are still ethnic Serbs. Their citizenship is Slovenian or Croatian. Luka is what we call "mixed" baby. BTW, every other person in Balkans have name ending in "ić" It have nothing to do with ethnicity.
@@kauvran If you had at least a little respect for Luka, you wouldn't allow yourself to write of such chauvinistic idiocy.
The drive that tied it was just to set up the go-ahead step-back. This young man was playing chess.
This is when a legend of the NBA started
who else is here after watching his interview on JJ’s podcast
Hope he stays in Dallas for a long Time. Luka Boulevard or Doncic Avenue sounds good. It seems European Players are made for the Mavs.
Only one word to describe this bloke 'GREATNESS". Definitely my 2018/19 NBA ROTY
birth of Luka's stepback
Finally !! The first game, when the entire Dallas team trusted Luka. All team of Dallas played top shit.Goo Mavs.Slovenia with you.I am in love with Dallas team
Here after taking the Suns to a game 7 and eliminating CP0
Still here seeing Luka magic showing greatness..
In just a few years, he's legitimately in the MVP conversation. Damn, barring injuries, he's poised to be one of the top dogs in the league.
I`m watching this in end of december 2020. So, best in 2021 for all of bb fans. Greetings from Slovenia.
He can live with pressure for sure
real
Thé beginning of Luka's legend in NBA for me
I personally do not see him as a rookie, he simply cannot be compared to any prospect coming from NCAA. Luka has more important games in his legs and head then any kid coming from NCAA. Still do not understand this amazement by his performance by US media...for love of God he was an MVP of European League. That is not a bush league... I'll tell you this thou...it is one thing to drop 24 points and completely another to take over last two minutes of the game like this. You have to be born as a leader, that you cannot teach. I agree with some of the statements made by US basketball experts calling him biggest prospect NBA has ever seen...
Still watching this 2 years later. I was there I will never forget this game.
1:23 it looks like harden says he’s got to score eleven
I said that same shit too 🤣🤣 Harden jinxing the game lmao
i think this is where luka's stepback went famous
Looks like he's the real deal
His step back jumper is mean af
this was even better than the game winner against the clippers
Watching the ending again in 2022 has different feeling 🤤🤤
rookie of the year.. luca doncic 😁
Remember when Steven A Smith said rookie Luca would be better than prime Harden? What a great talent evaluator!😅
На игру этого парня можно смотреть вечно,не отрываясь на других.Что он творит,это просто волшебство какое то.Какой он классный 👍🤗👏👏👏👏🏀
Here after hearing Luka told JJ that this was the first time he really tried the stepback
Never gets old😎
Let us notice D.Jordan picked up every rebound except Hardens airball. He was big part of the turn around indeed.
The top 2 GOATS look at Luka with a level of respect that is not normal. Perhaps they can see their next GOAT.
Luka Dončič from SLOVENIJA!
Coming back to this after hearing him speak on JJ Reddick’s Podcast
DONCIC=>He gets better on crunch time... Star player/MVP in d making!
The Day they took notice of the next King.
Your superman idol luka
Haven’t watch nba since Kobe left, it’s fun to watch again this kid must see tv!
he is amazing
Luka's stepback is brutal
End of when Luka walking into the fan at the ending of Great Game. Seeing all those different faces every time, knowing you got the Job Done and Its A Blessings. Should be a special feeling. For The Dallas Mavericks
I love the 3-point shooting, I mean the air ball from J.H. That is exactly the signature of a fake super star.
Intense!!!!😊😊😊 Congratulations 👏👏👏 dallas, specially, "Luka Doncic" and the Team.....
James Harden and CP3 at their best 😂
Still amazing how a rookie PG used his size against PJ Tucker in the paint, he really had loads of end game experience in Europe and proved that he is an MVP
1:08 Not only was that not a foul, Chris “max contract” Paul, missed both free throws.
True. Ball don't lie.

This is the game that made Luka into a star ⭐
I'm so crying last night open vedio tiems dallas 77
When you're just a rookie and already a legend.
Imagine youre a former euroleague champion/MVP/legend with 18 and probably never gonna play there again!
He is the Larry Bird of this era.
He is that yes sir. Special gifted player

Hats off man. This is Djokovic mentelity. In the end it matters. Great effort. We love you. Pitty you made the olimpics. Keep up the good work
Came back to see this game after JJ's podcast. Dayum Luka was hella skinny XD
Love it! From Lithuainia
Halleluka!
During CP free throws, Harden says "he has no left". 2 missed free throws later, Luka drives left for 3rd straight field goal. Then harden hairballs a 3. Lol. Luka puts the icing on the cake with the harden step back three to win it.
Here in 2023, Luka is so good😭😭
Before top Luka doncci
And the legend begins
Luka did both of Hardens patented moves on the same defender 🔥🔥🔥
One of the first moments that let us know we were seeing the guy that was going to define an era in the NBA.
Ex Yugoslavia school of basketball
1:22 harden says Luka has no left...
The day the legend of luka begins.
When you see Luka in big moments, you just know in your bones that ball will go into the rim....
Luka gonna be the GOAT
How did Luka celebrate after the game? with some fortnite games!
Nah, he's not a kid nomore to play that, he be putting up work in the gym rather than being KAT.
Carlos Jophet Enopia follows him on Instagram he plays it everyday lol
They say fortnite has some good and bad effect on you try to compare KAT and Luka
Im sure he plays fifa all day long
Luka magiiiiiiiic!
Dude look at how slim he was 4 years ago lol
yeah, but he needed the additional weight.
well played Dallas well played
Luka Clutčhić
That's probably a last name in some Slavic country, except it would be spelled Klatčić, not Clutčić.
And black nba analysts would still mispronounce it intensionally out of disrespect even though it’s their job to pronounce names correctly.
