About me:
I've been learning game development for a few years now, I do have a background in software engineering, and I also have a background in education, so being able to combine my love of gaming, software engineering and education is the best way to spend my time.
I am currently working on a few unreal engine games as a hobby, but I am also trying to build a community, thus I am creating KZhead tutorials to find others who are interested in game development and design.

  • That math expression node, bookmark in blueprint and Freeze Rendering are gold! I had no idea, thanks a ton! Two tips in return: In Unreal 5.2 and up, as you're dragging a wire from a pin pressing R creates an anchor on the spot! The party continues!! Drag a selection box around the anchor(s) to select quickly. Now delete with SHIFT+DEL or SHIFT+Backspace. The wires will stay connected!! What's even cooler is that it even works with a sequence of nodes. i.e. A -> B -> C, select B, shift Delete, A connect automatically to C!

  • I love your videos, presentation; speed and content, Awesome! You can drop a blueprint variable directly on a node like exec or pin and it will connect with the correct getter setter. you can hold control while mouse click and drag wires pin, even a nest and they will all move to another node pin slot when you drop them over. in some graphs if you hold a key and then just click mouse it will autocreate a node, like in material hold '1','s', 'p', etc. and useful nodes pop out. hold 'b' and click a blueprint. alt click a wire, deletes.

  • To add to #18, if you want to combine several actors into one actor but keep them all as separate components, you can select them all and click on the little graph icon next to the play button on the main toolbar (same place you access the level blueprint). Then click "convert selection to blueprint class". No clue why it's there instead of where the other combine tools are, but it's nice to know where it is.

  • Excellent tips! I knew a couple of them so was surprised at my own knowledge. Do you know a shortcut to find a parent material? (I’m very new to materials so maybe I just don’t have the google fu.)I was trying to edit a material but it was a child. The editor was throwing an error saying it had a parent. I don’t know how to find the parent easily.

    • Glad they were helpful! For finding the parent material, it will always be listed in the details panel of any material instance (in the general section)

  • Yeah... the unvalid variables cost me a lot of time. :D Btw. Do you plan to make a tutorial for real loading screens? All i can find is just about fake delays or paid plugins.

    • What do you mean by real loading screens? As in showing a static screen while something is loading in the background?

      @AliElZoheiry@AliElZoheiry4 ай бұрын
    • @@AliElZoheiry Yes. Game loading screens. Tutorials here on youtube just use fake screens (widget with delay). And there have to be a way how to create a real loading screen that ends up once the level is fully loaded. Like some actor to load last and let loading screen know the level is fully loaded. Because i doubt game developers use widget with delay to hide assets loading and popping to the scene. I was not able to find anything usefull so this could be a tip for a new video.

    • @@AliElZoheiry greetings Ali Elzoheiry I can still only thank you for the great videos you make here, very sophisticated and not just a quick way to create something I've actually been trying for 3 days to create a flying AI that just flies in my direction... It would be very nice if you could maybe make a video on the topic of flying AI. I'm really tired of my nerves xD
