  • Well tbf the bar is probably 15-20kg. I get problems with my shoulder from ego lifting for years. Those band exercises etc definitely make a huge difference.

    • IMO best workout to strengthen rotator cuff is wide gripped pull ups. Since I’ve started weight training my rotator cuff pain is nonexistent it took 3-4 months.

  • That’s about the extent of overhead load capacity I have too😂. With a shoulder that has fully dislocated over 30 times, there’s no level of rotator cuff or scapula conditioning possible to overcome resulted limitation. It is beyond available medicine and I just happily accept it.

  • Very true, benchpress shows this as well. You may have killer pecs and triceps but if your stabilizer muscles are weak you wont lift much. Compound movements are great in that they reveal what needs love.

  • I almost always do external rotations with a light dumbbell before any pressing, so this was validating! Gotta try that band one tho, I do also usually do band…up&overs? Don’t really know what they’re called😅 but a narrower band should be good in a different way

  • I do it after bench press and side raises. I usually only warm up with light dumbells overhead press, then move to empty bar and then actually do my working sets. That's enough warm up for me. Although it sometimes get's a bit wobbly, because the side delts are already worn out from the side raises.

  • Here's the thing too about the small little plates... I like to use them when I can't quite get over a plateau. I'll throw one one of the small plates so that I can incrementally increase my PR. And that's a little something I got from an old school bodybuilder

  • I usually do single arm presses with a 10 or 15lbs plate to prime the stabilizers in the movement itself. Then I’ll do 180 degree lateral raises with 5-10 lbs for a dynamic activation of the rotator cuff muscles

  • It's impressive enough that she reached failure , it's not easy at all to reach failure on the overhead press because the fatigue in my shoulders is so darn high. RDLs too, i never got to failure on RDLs because the fatigue is just almost unbearable, it's a weird feeling wich is hard to deal with.
