Good thing this isn't a reboot and this theory is incorrect! Scott said he wasn't the dev on Reddit, meaning the indie games in Help Wanted cannot be the FNaF games. He also said in the same post FNaF1-UCN are canon to UCN. How could they be canon if they never happened? Don't listen to what Mat says because most of his newer FNaF theories are incorrect.

This video is probably my favourite out of all the theories detailing Matthew’s ultimate demise…that 7 and a half minute intro still gives me goosebumps.
I think this all links to Scott saying "the lore can become so dense there is no room for a story anymore" which means that after the first six games FNaF was solved bc there couldnt be another game without the lore and story being messed up and therefore impossible to solve the mystery. This is why Scott made Help Wanted to say the first 6 games are lies to keep the FNaF legacy going into the future.

And this was the turning point. This was the point of no return. The point when fnqf abandoned the original story, throwing out like a old creation when the new creation worked better. When the old, rough, home grown story was thrown out in favor of the modern redesign. This was the point where (in my eyes) Scott betrayed the thing that was so beautiful about his games, the fact that it didn't fit together perfectly, but it fit together enough. At this point, I don’t even know if Scott knows his games own lore.
He has now written himself as a character with limited knowledge and no longer an omnipotent being.e.i, he can screw around his own lore as much as he likes and write it off as 'misinformation'. And I can't decide if it's lazy or genius.
As far as I know, his in-game counterpart (which has Scott's face, but not his name, according to IRL Scott) only made FNaF games within the FNaF universe because Fazbear Entertainment hired him.
