Calling Yooka-Laylee, Pokemon Snap and Saints Row 2 terrible games is wild.
Right?
And red dead revolver!
This. Whoever wrote this list is out of touch with anything outside the initial 12-month release window of all these games. They have basically become cult classics. Saints Row 2 is easily my favorite title of the 4.
@@MRInvidian661whenever I hear people talk about Saints Row 2 they say it’s the best of the series
Losers😂😂😂😂
4:08 She says original Pokemon Snap was monotonous and then praises New Snap for features that were literally a selling point of the first game 😂😂
Didn't say that at all
@@lilmissknowitall5775 except she did
The term terrible is used very loosely here then as none of these first games are actually bad just not necessarily outstanding.
How DARE you!!! Pokémon SNAP is one of the greatest games for the 64, one of the greatest Pokémon games ever, and was absolute perfection to play. Still is. Not to mention, you could take your cartridge to Blockbuster video and get stickers printed out of your in-game photos! Fukkin’ awesome!’!!
oh wow you could? that's so rad 😮
@@lordmegatron4789 Yup. Little stamp-sized stickers. There was a kiosk for it. Very cool especially for the time. I remember my Mew photos.....
Completely agree Pokémon snap was a gem definitely one of the best Pokémon games from n64 hell I even prefer it compared to the new one
I thought the horse balls thing wasn't until Red Dead Redemption 2.
Same.
Saints row 2 fucking ruled
Best in the series
The only one I'd ever cared about
I’m sure it was a typo on the script but Halo 2 came out 2004, the same year as the original Killzone. Killzone 2 came out 2009.
First of all, Dragonfall was an expansion to Shadowrun: Returns. I don't even know what Shadowrun: Legends is, but, upon a quick google search, it seems to be a novel. Easy mistake, fine. More importantly, Shadowrun: Returns is by no means a terrible game. It's not even a bad game. They're both fantastic, and I've never seen anyone say anything negative about either one of them. Dragonfall was an improvement, for sure, but the base game was great on it's own.
Pretty sure this is in response to the Shadowrun multiplayer shooter that was actually popular but despised by nearly everyone who's a fan of the TTRPG as it was lacking the elements of a Shadowrun.
"Terrible" doesn't seem to be the right word here.
Yeah, maybe “underwhelming” is more accurate? Even so, Pokemon Snap is a fantastic game, so…
Saints Row 2 was leagues better than 1.
Saying Pokémon Snap is "terrible" just lets people know that the writers' criteria is really lacking
It's just click bait at this point. All this channel is lately.
Damn it, Jules! Every time I hear someone stop after saying Nier Automata, I have to finish it with Potato Patata in my head.
Dislike for even insinuating the original Pokémon Snap is bad.
That's what I'm saying!
It's not that great
Oh yeah how dare anyone say anything about a mediocre game. Stop this nonsense of thinking no one can say anything about a game u personally like.
I agree
@@AkaManah45 lol it’s not that serious
Shadowrun on the Genesis was excellent and would go back to it often. Lets not talk about that multiplayer shooter version...
“Destiny’s future is looking brighter than ever” Lmao
Ikr? I was like "uh.... doesn't look like it but ok"
Lmfaoo
Street Fighter 1 was good for 1987 with large detailed sprites with a variety of different attacks. No other one-on-one fighting game of the 80s came close to beating it in terms of quality. It’s only seen as bad when compared to its sequel. But as a first attempt by Capcom in the genre, it was pretty decent.
New Pokémon Snap is the sole reason I wish gamefreak would give the Pokemon IP to someone else.
Or at least have the Spin offs shine more to make up for the Maingames rocky starts. "If you keep dropping the ball, at least try picking it up and try again better"
why does everyone hate Peter Dinklage as the Ghost in destiny?! i loved his voice. if anything i wish that we got to pick a voice for our ghosts so that each ghost for a player is unique
"Crappy live-action movie?" For me, it was a Tuesday.
How about "10 Sequels That Were Better Than the Original"?
Uhmmm saints row 2 is definately the best one hands down
Facts. Saints Row the Third is only somewhat better than the 2022 reboot.
@thenightmaricsenpai524 Nah. 3 and 4 were infinitely better than that absolute train wreck of a reboot. Sure, they weren't the best but they still had redeeming qualities.
Impossible Lair is awesome because it’s basically Donkey Kong Country and we haven’t gotten a new one in a decade.
Pokemon snap wasn't my favorite game, but there were pokemon Snap booths at Blockbuster, which was cool because you could print some of the photos.
Looks like you've been given another terrible script 🤣
The next one will be incredible.
I'm starting to wonder if this is why they don't have the outros anymore and just go right to just a harsh cut ending for most of their videos. That way you don't get to see who the writer is.
@@JimTheFlyThat could be part of it but the main thing I noticed about the hard cut at the end is an AD always plays. So often I don't hear the ending coming (because it doesn't sound like an outro) and when I go to rewind it is interrupted by another AD. I wouldn't mind so much but it feels like they changed their style and writing to accommodate forced ADs.
Shadowrun video games are a mixed bag based on the range of platforms they were released on. The SNES and Genesis games were both great at the time and I liked them a lot. The X-box arena shooter was just slapping the Shadowrun name on a boring game without more than 5 minutes of research into the IP they were using. All of the Harebrained Schemes Shadowrun games, Returns, Dragonfall, and Hong Kong are amazing. They have been steadily refining and improving on each one. But best of all the people making the games were some of the original creators so it FEELS like Shadowrun. There was a Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown game that was made about the same time as Returns but it was more hollow and faded away
The only butchering was the name "Guerilla Games" which were named "Gorilla Games" 🤣
Pokémon Snap OG > Sequel
There's no text adventure in Automata
What made Red Dead 2 better than the original, was that Rockstar took inspiration from Neversoft's ''Gun'' game, that showed them how a western video game SHOULD be made.
New pokémon snap is by far one of the worst games I've played on the Nintendo switch and I loved the original game
Not mentioning Red Steel 2 is a huge missed opportunity... that sequel was a BANGER in comparison to the first one.
I'm pretty sure that whoever said Pokémon Snap is bad quit after only 1 level, then they looked up information online. There is no way they actually played it to completion.
Nier Gestalt did have a lot of flaws. It is by no means a good "video game," but that is not its strong suit. The story and the characters are, and they've stood the test of time for those who have played. Cavia didn't have a lot of money or time, and it showed. Yoko has even said that he isn't the best developer, but he can really write a good story. I am amazed we got Automata. Then we finally got the Nier (Replicant) game we deserve in the 1.22 remake. I'm so glad more people can enjoy this game now. It is truly a great game because of Automata's success. Automata is the great game that it is due to Nier and the Drakengard series.
“Spared no expense”….haha you cant fool me with that one…ive seen jurassic park
Halo 2 did NOT come out the same year as Killzone 2. They came out in 2004 and 2009 respectively. Halo 3: ODST came out in 2009.
I’m astonished they never mentioned Uncharted 2, one of the best games of all time, even one of the best sequels, Drakes Fortune while good on its own, has some MASSIVE flaws, controls, gameplay, story somewhat, but what 2 did was expand on the game did well and make it with more passion as well as adding a bit more variety and character to the story as well. SMH
Using pokemon snap is so ragebait cus its perfection
Pokemon Snap was amazing
Street fighter should be #1, but having it at 2 is sorta fitting...lol.
If Red Dead wasn't on the list, then Street Fighter would easily take #1.
This one’s for Pokémon Snap.
I loved Pokemon Snap. It was fun and gave you most of them to photo (only 151). All camera controls were awkward on that system. You had 2 options: Stadium or Snap. A good fighter or an easy rail game.
This is a weird list. For example, Saints Row 2 is generally credited with turning the series zanier, to distinguish it from GTA. It’s why there was excitement for the third. And some factual inaccuracies surrounding Shadowrun. Shadowrun Dragonfall relates to Shadowrun Returns, which WAS well received. Legends was from a completely different dev.
Kill Zone 2 was terrible, the knife was the best weapon in the game until the invisible boss fight where it was just a giant bullet sponge. Grenade launcher to turn him visible and machine gun to the face over and over.
For all the decent games here, I'm surprised 50 Cent's games didn't get a mention. Bulletproof was one of the best selling PS2 games and it was TERRIBLE! So much so, no one expected a sequel but we got one anyway. So, imagine everyone's surprise when it was actually...good? How? Well, 3rd person cover shooting became popular and certainly helped the gameplay feel way better. I'm not saying the 50 Blood on the Sand is OMG Best Game EVER! material, but it's certainly a decent game. A shame that the 100% superior game sold less than the terrible Bulletproof, proving that god is dead and we killed him.
Someone explain to whatculture the difference between “terrible” and “average”. Most of these terrible games biggest crime was not being amazing.
I cannot believe what I'm hearing about Saints Row 2
Regarding Saints Row 3, must be talking about the console version. I bought it a few years ago from Steam but found it rather buggy... Really couldn't get over all the sound glitches - the vehicle sounds are terrible... At least for PC😢 Killzone: Liberation was one of the best games on the PSP! One of the first game to make me throw my handheld across the room... True story!
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug
Shadowrun Returns was better than Dragonfall, although Dragonfall was well finished in story, the short and sweet of Returns was more similar to dungeon crawlers that i like
Saying saints row 2 is worse than the third is an actual joke, clearly youse know very little of games lmao
Saints row 2 felt like a spiritual succeser to GTA san andreas. It was the best one by miles
You guys need to fire whoever put Pokemon Snap and Yooka-Laylee on this list.
Nier and the Drakengard series were some of my favorite PS2 era games. Automata is doubtless a massive step up from those games, but it's also a generation defining game. Calling its predecessors terrible is a joke. Not that that's surprising, since you also have Pokemon Snap on this list. Resistance and Watch Dogs should be on here, and you can make an argument for Elder Scrolls (Morrowind) though again, the first 2 weren't necessarily *bad*.
Pokemon Snap & Saints Row 2 weren't terrible wtf lol
I was just about to say lol my favorite of game in the whole saints row series is the second one
The Evil Within 2 absolutely deserves to be on this list. I quit the first game halfway through cause it just...was very meh. It wasn't all that scary, the gameplay was clunky AF, and it just didn't really do anything well. The sequel on the other hand I legit think is one of the best horror games of the last generation. The open world concept works FAR better than it has any right to, the enemies (especially the big boss of the first half) are excellent and scary as hell, and the gameplay is solid (it's nothing to write home about but it's good at least). I had completely skipped it because I figured it would be the same as the first one until someone in my Discord said it was FAR superior and they were 100% correct. Highly recommend EW2 if you skipped it like I did because the first one sucked
The original Nier's story and music is incredibly good.
Persona 4 Let’s not lie to ourselves here
Which one of you editors set Jess up for failure with that Destiny 2 segment? Or did Bungie just pay y'all to lie like that?
Pokémon snap was my first game on my first gaming console, played it so much,i miss it,the other game for my N64 was a Scooby-Doo game that i kept getting stuck on so i gave up😅
Red dead 2. Look how much details we got the testicles on the horse shirnk. Me ok were is johns daughter? Why did john never hunt the others in dutch crew?
Let just hope Pokemon platinum gets a remake in the future.....
To say the new Pokémon snap is better than the original is crazy. Most of my pokemon friends never even played the new pokemon snap
Pokémon snap was super fun back in the day though
Halo 2 came out in 2004 kill zone 2 came out in 2009 10:40
When do we get the $100 RDR2 PS5 remake?
Red dead revolver was amazing
“Killzone came out the same year as Halo 2 but got more attention”??? In what universe do you live? Halo 2 got 100x more attention than Killzone 🤣
Sainst Row 2 is the best one in the series.
Where’s 50 cent blood on the sand and spec ops the line?
DMC3 should be on this list.
20 WhatCulture video titles that are terrible, coming Tuesday.
Top 10 worst first games in a series.
Whoever wrote this one needs to learn how to research more thoroughly and accurately. Yeesh like 3-4 just straight up mistakes in here, outside of the poor use of the word terrible
Killzone talked about over halo?? D2 has good customization?? What fresh faced 16 year old did the research for this script? Lol
Okay, as someone who has played Pokemon Snap, I take issue with the idea that it's a bad game. It's an amazing game, and if you think otherwise, you're uncultured.
I loved the og pokemon snap. Buuuut absolutely hated the new one. I don't know why, but it just was so boring and lame to me
Nah Jess, for even touting the idea that Pokemon Snap was bad at all is a thumbs down from me. & New Pokemon Snap, being an on-rail game + photo game, ofc Graphics take absolute priority & have little framerate issues. 'coz, well, everything is in one tiny area ain't it?? :/ Can't compare Snap to Mainline, again, 2 different games/genres. Disappointing Jess... 😮💨😒
Saint row 2 isn't bad, the 1st game sucks because they took it to serious and compared to gra was trash, the 2 game was really good because they said f it let just made anything we want, and the 3rd game took that idea and they give a +10
And still there are some idiots who think saints row 2 was better now I can say what a terrible taste they have of games
Oof rage baiting for engagement is messy.
Whatculture gotta Whatculture
So snap was bad but destiny 2 is good? These are wild takes
Screw y'all, I loved Saints Row 1 & 2.
People hate og pokemon snap ?
Very bold of you to call Pokémon Snap a terrible game…😡
I thought yooka laylee was decent for what it was but not terrible by any means
You did not just put the original pokemon snap in the thumbnail as a bad game how dare you!
Isn't Destiny 2 kinda dying and doing pretty badly lately?
I still hate neir and enjoyed the much worse game drakengard because of its pact mechanic making the main charactee unable to comment on eventsleaving the ganee left for 100s of hours in a bland war fifurinf out true allys from tyrants
Yooka Laylee is one of the best 3d platformers i played in recent years. Dislike for that alone.
Destiny 1 was at least a game, Destiny 2 is a f2p mess now
Big Oof on this one, your writers are just wrong.
bullshi t old pokemon snap is way better. only because its gen 1 only. the new pokemon are trash
Top 10 dead youtube channels that have incredibly mid takes 😂
Its clear that none of us agree with Snap being on here. 😅...It was too unique for its time to be considered "terrible"..Even in the slightest....Maybe im too old for these now...🤦🏾
Bro, I thought about stopping the list when they said Pokémon Snap was bad. That's one of the worst things this channel has ever said. 😂😂😂
the original Nier was not a terrible game wtf??
Killzone 2 got far more attention and praise than HALO F#@KING 2? What alternate universe are you posting this from?
Really playing fast and loose with the title of this video I see.
Like number 666. Today's gonna be a good day.
yikes... bait title here all. Only some of the OG games were "terrible".
Hjonk
Viva Destiny 2!
