Hearing the same music Dankpods uses for audio comparisons gives this video a whole different atmosphere than I expected.
Make the wrapper have two slots like a FunDip. Then put the hotdog in one, and the chemical in one, so they don’t mix, Shake it and have the heat go through the other side, and make sure the tear is on the hotdog side and not on the chemical side so the chemicals stay in but the hot dog can come out.
The hot dog idea has promise if you can figure a way past the "melts your mouth" taste sensation.

If you put the hotdog in a ziplock bag (without much air in it), then the hydroxide doesn't get to it but the heat will, and the dog will remain uncontaminated. Also, there are other chemicals you could try. Chemical hot packs work from the heat of crystalization and are nowhere near as nasty (usually made of sodium acetate).
