Peeling 2K gloss over plasti dip video kzhead.info/sun/o9SldJiehF9mo58/bejne.html
Would this clear coat work on matte black stock rims to make them shine
I havent tried spraying only clear coat but i would suggest doing base coat of black with plasti dip or whatever you want and then use the 2k clear
@@EhabHalat I'm trying to avoid the plastic dip
i just like looking at u
Amazing DIY . How many cans does it takes for the 8-10 coats for all the four tyres?
Damn! That gloss finish is so sick!
Great informative video! The vinyl wrap on that Benz looks amazing and the glossy rims look powder coated. LOVE IT!
ROYCE GOD We did the vinyl wrap too!
LOVE the 2K gloss finish!
This is perfect if you just want to paint your rims and don't care to peel it. The gloss will prevent the plasti dip from fading. I blacked out my rims and put glossifier on them but find they fade after a year so I sprayed them every year, kind of a pain.
That 2K high gloss does wonders! LIQUID DIPPER keep the videos coming, i always learn something new with your vids
6IX 9INE Glad to hear it, Thanks!
Such a huge difference between matte black and the gloss black, both look great but that gloss is popping! Keep up the quality videos man
Crank Racerz Thank you!
If you think that Matte black or matte anything looks great then you must love to make your shit dull, boring and ugly.....
Thank you I always see matte not gloss and in prefer gloss so thank you for this video
Those rims went from 0-100 real quick! 🔥
On god lololololol
this 2k spray max is a wonderful product. I did my wheels , painted with some metallic rusteolum paint, and it looks amazing, nobody can't tell if its a powdercoat. Heating can is the key to get a better pressure and the paint self level better. like you said in the video, use a respirator. I use the 2k max in a well ventilated garage, with a brand new paint/asbestos respirator, quit the garage on drying time and my lungs were killing me the day after. probably because of my light beard. people : shave before painting!
Where can I find that 2x spray at???
You can get it at any local paint store or even automotive store. I get mine from NAPA
Can you use plasti dip before the 2k spray ?
Yes plasti dip then 2k on top
@@shelbyhaiketic4212 lol did you even watch the video?
I have to say I completed plasti dipping my factory rims and using the 2k gloss and they turned out awesome. You definitely need a mask when spraying this clear coat.
Tommy Miller yes! 100% need a mask even when spraying plasti dip or anything really!
@@EhabHalat how many cans of plasti dip and 2k gloss do I need for all 4 rims ?
@@shelbyhaiketic4212 one can per rim of plasti dip and then one can of 2k gloss sometimes two depending on size of wheels
@@EhabHalat got it and when u say 1-2 cans of 2k gloss do u mean total for all 4 rims, or do I need 1-2 cans of the gloss for each rim ?
1-2 cans for all four rims of the 2k gloss
Really nice video man... perfect info filming and narration
Thanks man, i appreciate it
Thanks for the video.. I actually was gonna make this same tutorial a while back.. but it was too cold. Great results. I did the same thing to my mirror caps but with regular clear coat and it turned out great as well.
Ronald Ciubuc thank you! And thats awesome glad to hear you got great results
Does it peel over time like with rock chips etc
Yes its peelable but some little pieces might be hard to get too so you use a pressure washer to remove those
2k High Gloss on Plasti Dip is awesome. It really looks and feels like painted. And yes, it is peelable.
its not peelable.. it comes of pieces..
Its peelable. Watch my video on peeling 2k gloss on my youtube channel. Ya it doesnt come off in one solid sheet but still removable, it took me 15-25 min each rim to peel completely
@@gg7335 why would you want to peel them after you put on
That’s so good I think I’m going to have to try find one of those

Beautiful beautiful job man and very good tutorial you just earned a sub mah brother

@@EhabHalat welcome:) you've covered everything. I've watched so many vids and spend lots of money and was not happy with the result. This covered some important parts missed in many vids out there. Keep up the good work! :) Wish you all the best!
It's been a year or two since I saw your video. I waited a very long time for the same 2k gloss to be available again. I've got my kit. Can't wait to try it. And I cannot see what is the problem in Fonzi's video saying it is not peelable (even as talentuous and professionnal he might be) since it is considering your other video and even others available on the net. Good job Ehab.
Im glad to hear that! Most people dont even want it to be removable but it still is if its done properly. I do this method alot and never have any issues. Thanks for the comment 👍🏽
The orange peel looks awesome!
I think this will save me 700$ which is the cost of powder coating my wheels black! Thanks for the idea and the video.
J.C. C. Hey! No problem, i appreciate the feedback!
Dont do it...
First, awesome job, I will be doing same for my SLK. Question: Where do I get the Mercedes logo deco and are they available in different colors?
Most print shops can cut out decals for you and yes lots of different colours. I use a silhouette cameo to cut my decals
this is exactly what i was looking for 👍👍👍👍
My brother, that's awesome. I just subscribed to you channel. I'm in New York and I have a custom chopper that I want to black out. I'm definitely taking this route because it will save me a lot of money. I wish you guys were in NY because I'm not really good at stuff like this, but I'm definitely going to try. Thank you so much. 10x👍
Im glad to hear that man. You can do it just take your time and thanks for the comment
They look great brother, God bless 🙏🙏
Gilberto Dejesus thanks man
Removable or not, the finish still looks sick!!!
Micheal Neely until you want to remove it. If you want a permanent finish just paint it.
Great video man keep It up 🔥
Thanks bro! Appreciate it
Thank you for sharing you skill set brother!
No worries thanks for the comment!
Can you do a video of using the 2k high gloss on a chrome delete?
My guy I’ve been doing this since 2012 and people still ask “is that plastidip” and yes 2k clear and even 1k clear will give you a very glossy plastidipped wheel as long as you apply enough coats it’s peelable and it’s not difficult at all.
Is the 1k as glossy as the 2k?
If you are going to use a spray paint can for Gloss then you might as well just use regular spray paint for the new color as well.....I don't get this plasti dip and then gloss paint idea......
Nice!! Im doing mine this weekend!
last year with help of this video i dipped my rims but i skipped the 2k glossy finish for some reason which i donno why. it became so dirty and i couldnt remove break dust and other dirts from the tires even though i used everthing, for example rim cleaning agent etc. this year i removed all the plastidip and paint again, also watched this video over and over again, before i start. Now looks awesome and hope easy to clean, here in finland 2 season tires, dipped tires are summer tires and i didnt install them yet, let see, thanks for the gread instrucion video,
Underrated video
AJTHEKID thank you !
Great video and they look amazing! How's this hold up on chrome bumpers for a chrome delete? Any tips or tricks??
Chally B it should hold up just fine but i would use a spray gun to spray larger areas like bumpers
Great video. Very well explained
That was a badass job!!!! Great job
Thank you!
nice job, but you should paint those brake callipers too, they don't look good
Was thinking that and the car
Awesome work Ehab! How many cans of 2k high gloss were used on 4 rims? NM.. found the answer should have looked first About 5-6 cans of plasti dip and 1 can of 2k gloss, maybe 2 depending on wheel size and how complex the spokes are
Thanks :)
Those look sweet I have been wanting to do mine the same color nice job.
Why so Serious? Thanks!
@@EhabHalat Very welcome Thank you for the tips
I'm gonna go with your video cause your tint tail lights method worked great for me.
Awesome! Im glad to hear that
Replica's that were intended for a BMW, used on an Mercedes.
@@rduncan00 watch you respond with some dumb shit
How many cans of plastidip did u use & how many cans of the 2k gloss.
Phillip Davis 1 can per wheel, about 8 coats a wheel and only one can of 2k gloss with 1-2 coats per wheel depending on your preference.
Thanks very much. This was super helpful, as I have a new Bosch dishwasher in stainless... But all my other kitchen apliances are black. So until I switch out more appliances for stainless, I'm going to take my dishwasher to gloss black with this method. Perfect. I may make a video to detail how it goes.
Interesting! Best of luck and hope it all works out for you
This turned out really nice! 🔥👌🏾
Thank you
@@EhabHalat you're welcome
just bought some for my 2016 coyote fingers crossed....
How did they come out
I'd suggest watching DYC's rebuttal video on this very topic before going and doing this. Have fun trying to peel the dip off!
Just stumbled upon your video, great job. I'll be doing mine this weekend.
Awesome! Good luck and thanks for watching :)
Good job bro! Looks great
Thanks man
Can you show how the rims peel off with the dip and the gloss over it ?
That's why he lay the tire shine on it. Paint cant stick to oil.
@@ja-makin-me-fit7335At least understand what he's asking before commenting. He's asking how the plasti-dip peels off the alloy, after laying down the gloss. Not how it comes of the tire.
@@groot4375 instead of beating your gums why didnt you answer the question genius? Since the gloss is on the dip it comes off the same way by rubbing thinner to start an edge to start peeling.
@@ja-makin-me-fit7335 Damn, you can't have a conversation without trying to get offensive huh. I don't know the answer, that's why. I simply replied to you because you gave a totally irrelevant answer to the question at hand. PS.. This is called typing, I can confirm my fingers do not have gums.
Juan Torres yes i will do a video once the owner wants it removed from the rims
Can you give an estimate of how many cans of black you used and how many of the 2K gloss, thanks - great video
rayjohnson1974 hey i used 5 cans of black and 1 can of the 2k gloss
I used this method to dip my rims and they look great but are a pain in the ass to peel off! i tried peeling off the hub cap and it took me 10 minutes! i highly recommend everyone reading this to get dip dissolver if you are going to be using clear coat over plasti dip or you will spend hours peeling it off
Def getting that gloss!!!
Spraying spray max without a respirator gloves and full tyvek chem suit can be fatal. Praying you research isocyanates brother. For your safety and your loved ones
Sexy rims !! Good job 🔥
Sexy pic 😉😄😄😄

I use that 2k clear to refinish wheels it works great
Doesn't even look like the same rim wow I need this! 😁
This is hilarious if you already watched dipyourcar's response to this 😂
frankie rodriguez ya man
frankie rodriguez they said to remove this 2k gloss off plasti dip will be almost impossible to removed.
I know 😂
Lol you beat me to it 🤣
“You need to make sure you get full coverage of the rim” lol. So are you going to do the inner lip of the wheel?
Lol shut up
I did. Don't be lazy.

Have u peeled it with the 2k on the plasti dip b4??? I've seen what an enamel clear coat over plasti dip can do when trying "peel it"... comes off in chips....
neillgarcia5 hey! Yes i have peeled a set of rims it doesn’t come off in one sheet but comes off in medium sized pieces. As long as you apply 8-10 coats it should peel off might take abit but it still peels doing no damage to the rims
U should do a video on how it peels off the speed shape u did b4 the wheels...hopefully u still have it... really interested...thanks for the reply

Cool thanks for feed back have great day
Looks awesome!
Has anyone tried this on there front grille ?
Fun fact, this won't peel how normal Plasti Dip does.
But does it peel or would I expect thos to at least last me a year or two? Without peeling
@@Roger-ob2ft You can expect this to last a very long time. The 2K spray will harden the plasti dip. You would be a fool to think you can peel this off like plasti dip.
I should have worded it better in the video. It still is removable obviously not like Plasti Dip. Its going to be tougher to remove. I did this to showcase a high gloss finish because the glossifer is not that glossy and fades pretty quick. some people dont have the skill and money to afford/spray AutoFlex plus its not available in Canada for me. It is harder to peel but very durable, slick to the touch, doesn’t attract brake dust as much and very easy to clean. I am looking forward to high gloss aerosols from Dipyourcar which provides easier removal which Fonzie states should be released soon!
Word from Fonzie himself at DYC.com kzhead.info/sun/Y6uyeclthIV4n30/bejne.html

Wow what a hack job. This wont peel.

Great video! Does it work to apply the 2k gloss few months after the plasti dip? I want to enjoy the matte look first and then switch to the gloss
I wouldnt recomened it because u can get small fish eyes if the rim isnt cleaned properly but you can spray a few fresh coats of plasti dip and then 2k after when you are ready to go gloss
Well ehab I've been undesided for past month wat the paint my wheels with was going to use plasti dip glossy but seen it & it's just not realy glossy then saw vid on luxury metal but now after seeing this & all the benefits of the 2k I'm going with this method great vid 👍
