yeah i’ve seen the twitter discourse about the acting but i don’t want to mention it because i don’t want ppl to agree 😭 (we must give him a chance!!!) from what we’ve seen of aki’s personality though, the social anxiety makes sense

I'm very impressed with Julien character so far. she seem like a really good person, and really liked how she handled the whole zoya obie situation with maturity. Hopefully Julien, and zoya can form a good relationship that would be nice for a change on tv without obie interference.

i know people like audrey&max more but i don’t see any romantic chemistry.it’s clear that they only sexually attracted with each other.but with max&aki, it’s better because it’s helps aki to realize his sexuality and the fact that aki is shy and weird but max is totally opposite makes this couple more attractive!! introvert bf & extrovert bf we love to see!

I really love audrey ,and Julien friendship she is such a good friend when she heard Julien, and obie broke up she was willing to cut tie with him that a true friend there.
also when julien was willing to hear about audrey's problems with her mom! their friendship is cute
julien is definitely the best character. jordan alexander's may not be that actress but her eyes speaks emotion and her voice when she speaks it feels like she mean to say it. the nuances. she owns this episode, let's give it to her.
I'm liking the dynamic between Max, Audrey and Aki as a polyamorous relationship but as a duo, I really like Max and Audrey. They've got sizzling chemistry together. They give me Chair vibes and the potential is huge.

Ep 2 just goes to show how the people in friendgroup arent really close at all. Julien is literally the glue to that whole group as there are 3 groups with in the gang. (Monet/Luna) (Audrey/Aki/Max) (Obie) These 3 "groups" dont usually interact with eachother unless Julien is involved. The moment Obie broke up with Julien he has no ties to Luna, Monet, Audrey, Aki or Max anymore. Which is interesting as it seems like if Julien were to choose Zoya, their group would 100% crack.
Love your reaction! Audrey reminds me so much of Blair and the sleeping with each other is also so Chair like. However I’d love all three of them to be together it’d be different and also cool but Audrey and Max’s chemistry is killing it. Aki is reminding me of Nate so much too

I really love audrey as a character she has so much depth ,and inclusion from her parents not being for her ,and she now taking care of her mom because she is sick ,and addicted problem ,and now she become broke from design company not gonna lie im really interested into audrey storyline so far cant wait to meet audrey dad he is such a jerk for cheating on audrey mom I hope audrey make her mom get some help .
i really like how they gave us a look inside her family life, it will definitely help us to better understand her character!
Btw I believe Obie is freshly 16 I believe. I think the creator said that. So he turned 16 before the new school year started. Zoya is about to turn 15 so they’re only about a year and 3 months apart which isn’t that big of an age difference especially in high school.

Awful? I get they should've waited, but Obie is the only one there made Zoya feel comfortable. And Obie wanted to end it with Jules a whole long time ago. I'm just glad he did the bare minimum to break up with her instead of cheat and them break up with her

She wasn't perfect with the whole relationship thing either, thinking about another man and immediately sleeping with him after before we see Aki being "okay" with it. We know that they're gonna be a poly or have a threesome, but Audrey doesn't know that yet. At least keep the same energy

Right, this is only the tipping point. If the writer play there cards right. But then again, the writers seem to weak that they wouldn't write in any good drama. They need a new writers room .I know they are trying to lean into the diversity, but we need the drama!

Zoya just seems like one of those people that try hard to do good to offset the bad that they have done or plan to do . Kind of like a cover for their true selves .

Yeah, the setup is definitely interesting for this love triangle/threesome that’ll eventually regress into shipping wars. Audrey is immediately established to at least be sexually interested in Max, and more willing to cheat on Aki than he will on her (That’s probably, in part, due to his burgeoning sexuality, but the fact that they both cheat is a little weird). So, Audrey is immediately infatuated with Max, Aki is resisting said feelings even though he also has them, and Max is interested in both of them. The pairings have a different set of chemistry, but notably, the difference is their development by Episode 2. Audrey is immediately seduced by Max, has sex with him (offscreen) and the fallout and eventual attraction is the presumable outcome. Compare this to Aki, who’s only kissed Max thus far (onscreen) before they kind of pulled away. What does this say about the possible future pairing?? I think it’s likely Aki and Max will fall for each other because the story is setting up a slow burn, tease-it-out scenario. Much in the vain of Chuck and Blair, and it also aligns with what we currently know of Aki’s personality. Now, I might be wrong. They might tease out the sex scene of Audrey and Max for the fans. But it’s just jarring to see them progress to that stage so early on, when longevity of (at least teenage drama) relationships usually includes a prolonged chase/pining period. Granted, I don’t know if I’m actually here for Max and Aki because it seems like Max doesn’t want anything serious and is exploiting Aki’s lack of experience with the same-sex. I feel like the games Max plays aren’t gonna pan out well for Aki, and seem to be much more on Audrey’s wavelength-but, the show is so twisty and unpredictable thus far, I could be totally wrong! I’m excited in the direction this relationship goes regardless, whether it be thruple or triangle (or ménage a trois). As a side note, I actually find Audrey and Aki’s friendship really compelling and wholesome. I think they’d be much better as besties without the forced sexual dynamic, which is why I’m not as thrilled about the threesome as I was when the show was announced. I think it’s healthier for both of them to remove sex from the equation altogether, and just be supportive friends again.

I don't have enough information so I could be wrong but like, am I the only one who hates how Julien's dad talks about Julien/Zoya's mom? Saying that she was "stolen from him" like she's not a vase, she can make a decision. I'm also glad that Julien has gotten some perspective cause blaming a 14 year old for all your problems is pretty yikes.

Being bisexual, I have such a problem with people saying that a pan or bi character has to end up in a same-sex relationship. It makes it seem like we only matter when we are in those relationships and is honestly incredibly bi- and panphobic. We rarely see a bi or pan character end up with a partner of the opposite sex. So it would actually be kind of refreshing to see. However personally I am hoping for the polyamorous triad storyline (that way he wouldn't even be 'choosing'). We rarely get that kind of representation too and if it's well done, it could make the show stand out in that way. Also I do agree with you, that we need more queer main couples but I am honestly getting kind of tired of the amount of male same-sex relationship in shows (specifically teen shows) and the lack of female same-sex relationship (and this does not even come close to the lack of representation for genderqueer characters). Let Monet and Luna be the main same-sex couple it would at least give them something else to do besides being the one-dimensional mean girls. Edit, because I want to add something: personally I would also like for Max to date around a bit and have relationship with partners of different genders (what I mean not just exclusively partners of one gender) but not the teacher. The end game ship doesn't have to be dating from the beginning on and they seem to make it a slow burn anyway (Aki and Audrey both need to time to figure things out too).

I think he secretly is in love with Max. Max didn't tell Audrey about what happened with Aki coz he is intrigued. I'm hoping Max and Aki are endgame. They have this sensual side. Especially with Aki. @@rosagenao In my experience the Gossip Girl fandom for the old and new show identify with the spoiled and bitchy characters and are harsh towards the ones who are supposed to be decent or relatable in the original that was Dan in the new one its Zoya.
