No matter how many times I watch gg, I'll always hate Rufus for the way he treated Jenny. Like I get that he's a dad and had to raise jenny alone without the help of a mother figure but, he was the definition of double standards on dan and jenny. Jenny went through so much crap alone trying to find her place in the upper east but her dad couldn't put his feet in her shoes and all he did was ground her, again and again, which resulted in her acting out even more. But he was always so supportive of dan and his activities. I get the age difference between them as siblings but Rufus definitely should have just trusted jenny in making her own decisions rather than telling her what and what not to do. I don't think Jenny deserves the hate she gets. She simply had to toughen up due to her environment in the upper east side. Sorry for the paragraph lmao

Jenny was one of the few relatable characters in the show for me. Don't get me wrong, Blair is iconic and I liked Serena in the first two seasons, Nate was decent but he was kinda irrelevant and had no storyline most of the time, Chuck.. well what can I even say, a lot of controversy surrounds him but Jenny - I don't think there's any girl who doesn't see herself in her. The struggles she went as a teen, her fights with her dad, chasing her dreams, the trouble at school and her boy drama.. when she went all goth and became this materialistic, corrupted, spoiled queen B trying to steal Nate and hurting Serena later on that was tragic. I blame the writers for that tho - it really seems like they didn't know what to do with her character. And when she lost her virginity to Chuck omg I'll never forgive them for that either!!

@@chrissy3875 I don't hate Chuck but I don't like the way people glorify him and excuse his actions just because he changed in the end. Yes, he developed so much and I liked who he became towards the end of season 5 and the whole of season 6 but his actions from seasons 1-4 still happened. Like, people are always "yes he was horrible and he did so many mistakes, I hated him at the beginning but he regretted all of the bad things he did and he changed for Blair 😍" like yeah obviously, but it just gets on my nerves how they just completely gloss over everything he did just because he regretted it and like, regret isn't always enough - he literally tried to rape TWO girls in the ONE episode 🤦♀️ Also, I'm realizing now that I forgot to mention Dan, well I don't get why everyone hates him so much? Yes he was a little judgemental at the beginning but most of his actions against them were justified because _they_ had messed with him first like the very first time he has "beef" with one of them, Chuck literally tried to rape his sister and Blair was always so mean to him for no reason, can you blame him? And I'm so tired of hearing the "well at least they don't pretend like they're better, they know they're wrong but they own it" argument like just because they don't pretend to be better, it doesn't make them any less horrible?? Anyways, they were all shitty in one way or another at one point, the only character who was actually a decent human being was Dorota.

Jenny was actually such an interesting character.. and she was never really jealous of Blair. She was confident and wanted to be like her and she kinda did in her own way. Also she actually won when she really put all of her while fighting with Blair. Even Blair was impressed by her(especially when she brought Nate to that dance) and wanted her to be the next queen of Constance.

I will never understand people’s obsession with characters like Blair. She wasn’t a #bossgirl, she was a literal bully most of the time and it’s weird how they glorified that. Jenny acted like a bad person because she was driven to that point by all of them. However, she did have her flaws, but unlike the other characters was never granted forgiveness. There was a power dynamic since the beginning to the end and Jenny ended up getting the most hate because of it.

I liked Jenny in the first seasons and I thought she was the best character, I also liked her "rivalry" with Blair (although she was set to fail from the start because she was "poor") and thought that all the gossips and schemes were fair game. So, I didn't mind that she changed to fit in. I think I started disliking her when she turned against Serena, who was the only one that always treated her right. Even worse when she schemed with Juliet and Serena almost died. I think that people dislike Jenny so much because she was very relatable and likable in the first seasons and people identified with her. And she was considered a good person so people had expectations. While the other characters were already bad from the beginning. But considering the finale maybe she wasn't that good of a person?? Also, one thing that I really hated about Jenny's storyline is how they made it such a big deal her losing her virginity, especially her dad and brother.

No matter how many times I watch gg, I'll always hate Rufus for the way he treated Jenny. Like I get that he's a dad and had to raise jenny alone without the help of a mother figure but, he was the definition of double standards on dan and jenny. Jenny went through so much crap alone trying to find her place in the upper east but her dad couldn't put his feet in her shoes and all he did was ground her, again and again, which resulted in her acting out even more. But he was always so supportive of dan and his activities. I get the age difference between them as siblings but Rufus definitely should have just trusted jenny in making her own decisions rather than telling her what and what not to do. I don't think Jenny deserves the hate she gets. She simply had to toughen up due to her environment in the upper east side. Sorry for the paragraph lmao

I feel like the reason most people hate Jenny is because she’s a representation of yourself. of how we would act if we were to be part of the ues. she wanted to fit in but being who she is wouldnt allow her so she just simply changed herself and got carried away just like how the next person would.
Jenny was one of the few relatable characters in the show for me. Don't get me wrong, Blair is iconic and I liked Serena in the first two seasons, Nate was decent but he was kinda irrelevant and had no storyline most of the time, Chuck.. well what can I even say, a lot of controversy surrounds him but Jenny - I don't think there's any girl who doesn't see herself in her. The struggles she went as a teen, her fights with her dad, chasing her dreams, the trouble at school and her boy drama.. when she went all goth and became this materialistic, corrupted, spoiled queen B trying to steal Nate and hurting Serena later on that was tragic. I blame the writers for that tho - it really seems like they didn't know what to do with her character. And when she lost her virginity to Chuck omg I'll never forgive them for that either!!

Yes, he developed so much and I liked who he became towards the end of season 5 and the whole of season 6 but his actions from seasons 1-4 still happened. Like, people are always "yes he was horrible and he did so many mistakes, I hated him at the beginning but he regretted all of the bad things he did and he changed for Blair 😍" like yeah obviously, but it just gets on my nerves how they just completely gloss over everything he did just because he regretted it and like, regret isn't always enough - he literally tried to rape TWO girls in the ONE episode 🤦♀️ Also, I'm realizing now that I forgot to mention Dan, well I don't get why everyone hates him so much? Yes he was a little judgemental at the beginning but most of his actions against them were justified because _they_ had messed with him first like the very first time he has "beef" with one of them, Chuck literally tried to rape his sister and Blair was always so mean to him for no reason, can you blame him? And I'm so tired of hearing the "well at least they don't pretend like they're better, they know they're wrong but they own it" argument like just because they don't pretend to be better, it doesn't make them any less horrible?? Anyways, they were all shitty in one way or another at one point, the only character who was actually a decent human being was Dorota.

Jenny was actually such an interesting character.. and she was never really jealous of Blair. She was confident and wanted to be like her and she kinda did in her own way. Also she actually won when she really put all of her while fighting with Blair. Even Blair was impressed by her(especially when she brought Nate to that dance) and wanted her to be the next queen of Constance.
Also she was passionate about something other than petty stuff and actually went on to work on that to try to make a successful career out of it.
Nah she was definitely insecure about her wealth and also felt like she needed to prove she’s worthy to the girls. Maybe she wasn’t jealous of Blair itself since she fought with her but she was jealous of her life and tried to copy it

jenny deserved sooo much better. her entire storyline trying to fit in made me sad and rufus didn't even try to be the least bit understanding. it seemed like the only person who actually made an effort was nate. he really did care for her and they deserved a happy ending. blaire, serena, and chuck were so much worse and jenny's the only one who got shit on for her mistakes. i sympathize with her because even though i didn't do any of the things she's done, i see myself in her. i understand where she's coming from.

I will never understand people’s obsession with characters like Blair. She wasn’t a #bossgirl, she was a literal bully most of the time and it’s weird how they glorified that. Jenny acted like a bad person because she was driven to that point by all of them. However, she did have her flaws, but unlike the other characters was never granted forgiveness. There was a power dynamic since the beginning to the end and Jenny ended up getting the most hate because of it.

I liked Jenny in the first seasons and I thought she was the best character, I also liked her "rivalry" with Blair (although she was set to fail from the start because she was "poor") and thought that all the gossips and schemes were fair game. So, I didn't mind that she changed to fit in. I think I started disliking her when she turned against Serena, who was the only one that always treated her right. Even worse when she schemed with Juliet and Serena almost died. I think that people dislike Jenny so much because she was very relatable and likable in the first seasons and people identified with her. And she was considered a good person so people had expectations. While the other characters were already bad from the beginning. But considering the finale maybe she wasn't that good of a person?? Also, one thing that I really hated about Jenny's storyline is how they made it such a big deal her losing her virginity, especially her dad and brother.
