Chillin in the same spot as last time trying to catch something different. I ended up with a few. I originally only had 2 on the first day so I came back on a better day and got a couple more!
The Bowfin/Dogfish is the most hated fish in here. It's easy to see why. These are hard to handle and can easily cut lines or fingers with their teeth. When caught they can be nearly impossible to hold and tend to roll around in lines, nets, or whatever else they can wrap themselves in. They can be a hazard either to us or themselves by getting themselves dropped. They can easily grow over 10lbs and fight strong with very violent head shakes. They will eat mostly anything as long as it's alive.
These fish are often mistaken as being bad. While typically not a favorable catch, these are native fish. They aren't invasive, destructive or in any way bad for the ecosystem that I am aware of. All they do is eat other fish. Unfortunately this sometimes gets them thrown on the shore to die.
Not really fat but neckbeard check sweaty check!!! Hope the channel grows. Tight lines from the Oregon coast.
Yeah we got a bad problem with him in North Carolina and a snakehead you can't stand you don't throw back although the snake is supposed to be pretty good eating
I think I heard that too. Luckily there are no snakeheads here yet that I know of, only these things.
Dog fish
in ga i was told if i caught one dont throw them back
I've been told that a few times in the 2 years I've lived in Wisconsin. As far as I can tell there is no reason to not throw them back other than not wanting to catch another one. They have been in the waters for many millions of years in some form.
@@NeckbeardFishing But they're gross
