For the bug you mentioned last episode where your sims couldn’t do anything, I had the same exact thing and it turns out it’s the chicken coop/cow shed from cottage living! If you get rid of those you should be able to go back to using a For Rent residential rental :)

I had a similiar issue with a Lama and a residential rental. Which sucked cause I wanted to do a co-living farming community situation. Now I don’t use for rent features for anything challenging anymore. Just standard apartments and townhouses.
This episode was absolute chaos -- fires, lightning, resurections, passing out in the money vault, dead chickens. What a ride

Deli, check the upgrades on that toilet. There's a compost upgrade that came with (I think) ECO Lifestyle. Ask/ watch Kayla (Simsie) she knows all about deadly toilets. She even had a Sim go to work while on fire, came home early to die.

I googled it while watching this cause I was so confused. And you're right, it's the compost container upgrade. You gotta empty it out so it doesn't catch fire 😂 I had no idea composting from the toilet in sims was even a thing!
Could have that upgrade, but could also be a bug. I've had sims get set alight from toilets without "Composting Container". I had one household at one point set a sim on fire from the toilet so often that I downloaded a mod to just flat out stop fires from happening.

in my gameplay I had the toilet fire also, my active sim had not upgraded it but upon inspection I realized when I moved Azure to a roommate she randomly started upgrading everything so I had to start locking doors.. 😅 (although those seem to be glitching as well, idk if it's because of the roommates or not... welp)

Ziggy being a benevolent but chaotic Sim just skyrocketed him to the top of my favorite character in Tiny Town. Going from saving Beatrice from death itself to taking a nap in a pile of money, what an icon.
Just a note to say it’s the cross-stitch skill, not the crochet skill! Crochet involves hooks and yarn, whereas cross stitching involves using a needle and thread to embroider a material, hope this helps!
I don't think you get more wool from a llama, it's not worth the money. It's better to get more sheep with different wool colors and a ranch hand to keep them satisfied.

Eventually when it stops storming I would love for Ziggy to take a day off and go to the forest to befriend some rabbits and birds so that he unlocks more cross-stiching patterns!! Also maybe you could hire a Ranch Helper to keep up with the animals. I'm loving this series!!!

As someone who sews, knits, and crochets - the whole start up price … yeah. I felt that in my soul (or wallet) 😂😂😂 Also, when Beatrice kept making chicken, my first thought was “someone go check the chicken coop and make sure they are all there!”
Deli your toilet is 100% upgraded with the fuel composter upgrade from eco lifestyle. It saves fuel and then if you don’t use it it catches on fire. Most likely, one of the roommates autonomously upgraded it. Just replace the whole toilet to get rid of the upgrade and lock the door for the roommates so they don’t do it again.
If you added the composting upgrade to the toilet that could be causing it to catch fire-if that’s the case you can either replace the toilet with a non-upgraded one or use the compost to prevent fires!
She may have the bug box......makes it where you have to compost

Deli, the small hopps make the biggest return on investmen and take shorter time to make. I would definitely try that instead of the large ones.
I'm literally cross-stitching while watching this :) It's a fun hobby. It's relaxing (most of the time, tangles can get frustrating) and it gives me something to with my hands when watching stuff. It's also so satisfying to see your finished work, and you can make really personal gifts. For example, I'm finishing off a wedding gift just now, that I based off the couple's invite and wedding colours.
And I did knit watching this on my lunch break, for the exact same reasons you mentionned ❤
I did some cross-stitching for awhile, it’s really lovely!! My eyesight is beginning to tank as I get older though, so once I used all my hoops I gave up on the hobby.
@@cinderpoof I'm sorry your eyesight is affecting your hobbies. My mum had to give it up for years because of allergy related ecsema on her finger tips. Luckliy the allergen was identified and it cleared up, so she's back to stitching. Have you tried magnifyers? I've got a desk mounted one with a built in lamp - great for fiddly work.

I’m on Ziggy right now too! Plopsy is bugged for me but didn’t know, so what I did is once an item sold I just donated the item to charity and then added what it would have sold for with money cheats. I used that siding for his house (it’s the only yellow I actually love). I’ve been selling animal knit sweaters non stop for cash with Ziggy (and he has a crush on my Azure too! lol)
I'm doing exactly the same! Also, my Ziggy and Azure are official boyfriend and girlfriend, and they already had some romance going on before I played with them!

This challenge is so fun. I've been having Ziggy shear his llama and sell the wool for money along with selling knits on plopsy. I've also been watching other simmers play this challenge. It's so cute and relaxing 🤗
Loving this series and this episode with all its chaos had me hooked! I can definitely see Ziggy and Azure getting together down the line. Their styles complement each other so well! As Ziggy progresses with knitting, it'd be cute if he knits Azure a hanging plant basket, so she can hang it up in her Boho home. ❤

Im pretty sure Beatrice playing the violin is just part of the University-roommate system. Probably also the chicken she made! I think a lot of the random thing the sims are doing, that are out of caracter for them, is in fact bc of the roommate system :D Maybe switch between cross stitching and knitting, if it is possible to knit while his finger hurts from cross stitching - to maximise productivity hehe. And maybe you upgraded the toilet to use compost? You know, this situation reminded me a little too much of lilsimsie's infamous fire toilet ;) I think if there should be a roof to cover the balcony it wold be nice if it was of glass, so it would still feel as if there were no roof (well, nice in dry sunny waether hehe). Also - Thanks for explaining ad showing the moving in and out etc, it helps us who don't have For Rent anyways, even if the pack works. I have University thu, luckily. But I also don't have Get Famous, so how would you work around the money then? Only thing I can think of is back to basics and create a list or maybe even a sheet and outside of the game note each sim's money. Such a nice and cute series that I look farward to try out myself!
if you play with mods, ravasheen has a piggy bank mod that you can download! I did this and each sim got their own piggy bank to deposit their share of the money into (I was playing with all of the sims at once as if the tiny town was one household) and then communal money just stayed for everyone to access
I think the toilet keeps catching on fire cause it has the compost container upgrade. Place an insect farm to stop it! 😊

An American here to say Cinnamon Toast Crunch is one of the best cereals ever made. I want every country to have it so they can bask in its glory 😂 Also want to say that crocheting is more similar to knitting than it is cross-stitching. Crocheting is done with one needle I love how Ziggy’s start in Tiny Town was so chaotic lmao He moved there to get over a horrible breakup and start anew just to see his new friend catch fire from a weird compost toilet potentially, watch her die, successfully ask Grim to spare her, meet one of his favorite celebrities just for her to get struck by lightning and see two chickens die 😂 Can’t wait to see what else happens to him
Hook. Crochet is done with a hook instead of a needle.
Did you instant upgrade the toilet? If so that's why it is catching fire. The composting container is the upgrade that does that. You could always replace it with a non upgraded one.
Ravasheen also has a mod that helps with this. It’s a fire extinguisher or plunger you sit in the bathroom. It’s not something sims can use, Just eliminate fires happening while being a decorative piece of CC. It’s called ‘freeze flame’ .

the composting toilets catch fire regularly. I sold my upgraded toilet, it was getting on my nerves having one fire every day.
The toilet fire might be from it having compost upgrade. It can also occur if a handy Sim does an “instant upgrade,” which can add the compost one.

She keeps mixing up crochet and cross-stitch. The craft Ziggy is doing is cross-stitch (or needle point to americans), with needle and thread. Crochet is more similar to knitting and done with one hook as you said. Mixing up cross-stitch and crochet seems to be a common mistake non fiber crafts people make (at least in my experience).
I'm American and I've always called it cross-stitch so it's probably a regional thing (cross-stitch vs needle point) but crochet is definitely something else entirely

I started with Cyprus and thought it was super easy until I realized way too late that I had the cheats for the wood table installed from James Chanel 😂. It gave me a lot of different stuff to craft and they sold at a higher price lol.
I like the idea of Azure and Ziggy as a couple. Both creatives. They get along well. Love it!

Yes! I've been obsessed with the game recently since the update and thought I was imagining things! Glad to know I wasn't! Haha!
I think Ziggy and Azure being a couple would be cute, but I also think Ziggy and Beatrice are just meant to be. She was the first sim he met, she showed him around the community, she cooked so many chickens just so Ziggy wouldn't be hungry, and Ziggy brought her back to life. They seem to have a lot of chemistry. Cypress Handyman was the first sim to move into my version of Tiny Town...He started out just making sculptures and selling them on Plopsy, which was ok, and then He changed to selling them from the street store table, and that did the trick. But getting from knife blocks to bathtubs was a chore lol. Cypress had to sell the candle-making table to fund the woodcarving branch of his handyman business. In time he was able to buy it back and now Cypress is working on his fabrication skills so he can make better candles. I had an idea to purchase a retail business to sell the crafted furniture. Would selling things away from the t=Tiny Town lot be cheating?

As someone who actually crochets, the hoop is for cross-stitch. The two needles is knitting. P.S. - Crochet is fun. Ziggy's hat is made up of granny squares, a staple of crochet. :)
Deli this idea of yours is Brilliant. I am playing the tiny town but I used them all from day one. they all lived in my community bunk house and built their houses one at a time. I love the fact that they are building relationships with each in the background while I concentrate on playing one at a time. I also got a butler and ranch hand to help and funded it to start from motherlode. I am not much of a rule follower but have been having great fun. chaotic but fun. trying ot get the them to sleep and eat in their own houses has been a challenge
I'm working on Ziggy right now. The hardest part so far is that Azure keeps auto-starting paintings and decimating all of his money. XD
I thought that Ziggy and Beatrice would get along great as soon as you randomized Ziggy as the new sim, and with him saving her life in this episode they should totally be besties ! I wouldn't mind Ziggy and Azure becoming a couple, but to be honest he stikes me as a guy who would like older women : I totally see him crushing on Beatrice ! I don't know if Beatrice would like him that way tho
Nothing like a drama filled episode! Good reminder to turn off accidently deaths off... I also put in a dumpster in - I allow them to keep items if it meets their decor or color theme, and plants of course. Other items I have added to the community areas or I get rid of and cheat the money back to what it was before.
I am so in love with this series! I am so invested in all the sims and builds we have so far! It brings so much positive vibes to my day! Thank you for this!😃

Thank you for showing us how you are adding in the characters. I ended up moving the whole family into an empty lot and then have been moving my chosen SIM 1 by 1 to the new lot. It's been a little fun that way as they can start being friends before they move to town. I am absolutely loving this challenge and seeing others embrace it. You are so creative!

Yeah that's another reason I hate the roommate system. So many roommates die to the elements. I made a trailer park using the roommate system and everyone kept dying in winter because they'd stay outside using the grill or other communal things and not automatically change into their winter clothes =/

Since you had to switch over to using Roommates, to make it a bit easier to collect up everyone for the next character you could make a Tiny Town club with all the neighbors. That will also work around Azure being famous, and hard for new neighbors to get to know and invite back as a roommate.

I used to live in a small commune inside my city. It was a circle of tiny 1-bdrm houses around a chicken coop and community garden. Everyone shared in the yard work and chicken care in exchange for fresh organic veg and eggs and super cheat rent. There were monthly bonfires and it was really cute, only problem is 1 shared washing machine so I had to escape lol. This is giving me the same vibes and I can't wait to start this challenge. Such a cool idea Deli!

Deli, the weather here in Norway (atleast more than just where i live) are expecting snow in april, and most just want spring. For a while here, the temperature seemed to get warmer, but then today i woke up to snow. And now the ground is filled with snow. Might escape into sims to escape the snow for a bit. Love the series btw
SAME! I'm from Denmark - we havenøt had snow today tho, but heavy rain the last two days! And we were also just exciting for and kinda exoecting warmer weather. But it is semi normal for us to have snow in april as well. Bummer hehe

Deli your way of doing this works so much better than For Rent. I’ve got everyone assigned to their own bed in my little tiny town and it’s working like a dream. Hot tip from this series so thanks for that. I don’t think I’ll ever use for rent again after playing the room mate way!!!
I've had my sims gift things they each make to the new sim to help them out. Annie who is Opal in my game made a ring for Cyprus so he can gain his skill faster, Frank gifted a book on handiness and Azure painted him a picture for his home. They also used household funds to build a structure, far from a house that they all use but will become Cyprus's home

Surprisingly Ziggy wasn't the hardest one for me, Annie was. Trying to make money for photography is terrible. I didn't have him crochet at all. I just had him knit a bunch of times. Knitting gets more lucrative when you knit animal clothing. Also, not sure how it happened but the toilet fires are what I like to call fire toilets. Somehow that toilet in the bathroom was upgraded to the compostable upgrade thingy. It's from Eco Lifestyle. I like to upgrade it like that in my sims houses just to spice things up LOL

When I was playing my Sims family a few days ago, the toilet kept catching on fire. I think it was one of the upgrades I had my sim do for it. I eventually sold all the toilets and got new ones and didn't have an issue after that lol. Amazing gameplay as usual! We love when it's chaotic 🤣

Toilet catching on fire is due to the "composting container" upgrade! Just sell that one and buy a new toilet and it should be fine. I wonder who upgraded it...?
LOVE this challenge and have started it myself! Like you, I have been using the kitty vault for the tiny town and also the SNBank mod to be able to transfer funds between tiny town sims and into the tiny town fund account to be used by the current sim. Maybe others might find it useful to use too! Cannot wait to see more of your tiny town developments and let's play!!
