From a total unknown to winning a grand slam chain sawing all her opponents in just 2 sets to the finals is phenomenal already. I knew right then she is very special! Fun to watch all her matches! At just 20, she is still improving and that is the scary part! If she develops all her first serves to precision aces, nobody can beat her at this era. A natural talent bound for greatness!

Well, Iga lost her first tour final in Lugano (vs. Hercog). Afterwards only Bencicova avoided bakery products, so respect for her. ;))

@@vojtasjedyny I know that it was WTA250 but Iga at that point was not a regular part of the tour. She was still in high school and not fully on tour. That's what I meant.

Qatar wasn’t that long ago, and I honestly forgot that Swiatek was in the lower half of the top ten at that point. Once she hit that hot streak, her ascent to #1 was swift.
Qatar quarter and semis matches was the turn around, beating two big hitters back to back in straights on HC, that was when she really turned on

She reminds me a bit of Henin's shot making ability, but with more pace behind it.
Nr 1 strength - movement, small steps , constant corrections of the hitting frame. Nr 2 - using the best and the most under utilized shot in tennis- behind the back of running opponent.
Her confidence, freedom and domination over the ball will paralyze all opponents long before a direct confrontation. I am reminded of working at the court of Lendl, who was once called a professor. 🧐

I think now in the next tournaments Stuttgart and Madrid on the clay, only Barbosa, and Garbine. She said on the clay it will be much more fun than on the hard courts Qatar, Indian Wells, Miami……

كلما كانت حركه الخطى للاقدام بشكل متغارب بمقدار نصف متر كلما كانت وظعيه ظرباته مركزه ودقيقه وعند عمليه رده للكرات الصعبه بشكل منفتح للاقدام بمقدار متر تكون حركه المظرب لديه بشكل مريح للوصول للكرات البعيده عنه بشكل اسهل ومريح له

عند اخذ الكرات من خط البدايه للاعب بشكل قوي الى الاطراف في الملعب الاخر يستحسن بان لايعطي الاعب فتح الذارع بشكل اكثر بل متوسط حتى وان تغيرت حركه مسار الكره تذهب حينها نحو الاطراف
تسديد الكرات نحو اليد التي لاتحمل المظرب بشكل سريع وقوي وبشكل منخفض باتجاه الركبه عند تغارب الاعبين في وسط الملعب تعد من نقاط الظعف التي يلعب عليها الاعب لكسب النقاط بلخبره والذكاء الذهني السريع
تبادل الكرات بين الاعبين بشكل متقابل ارهاق للجهد البدني لحركه اليد وتغيير المسار نحو الاطراف بشكل مباشر بعد الارسال يسهل من عمليه اختصار الكرات وكسب النقاط باسرع وقت ممكن وهاذء الاسلوب يستعمل في بدايه المباراه حتى لاتطول فتره وقت المباراه بشكل اكثر

اخذ وظعيه التقدم بلقدم والتاخر بلاخرى يعطي الاعب قوه دفع مركزه نحو تسديد الكرات نحو الملعب الاخر باتجهات متعدده ويشترط فيها بان تسدد الكره بليدين حتى تعطي دقه وصول الكره بشكل مستقيم او معاكس جانبي معا اخذ وظعيه جسديه متوسطه ومستقيمه علا حسب تموقع الاعب لتسديد الكره واعطاء فتح للذارع بشكل متوسط لانهاء هياء من تحدد وصول الكره في الاماكن المناسبه في الملعب الاخر ويعرف باسلوب الدفع المتقدم للاقدام لتقع الكره في التمام والامان
عمليه تسديد الكرات بشكل مباشر الى الجسد بشكل قوي واخذ الكره من الاعلاء والى الاسفل يجعل من ارجاع الكره شكل اصعب لان وظعيه يديه تكون ابطى من حركه توجه الكره اليه وظرب الكره من الاعلاء والى الاسفل يعطي الكره توجه مرتفع اكثر للاعب الاخر ثم لايستطيع قراءتها بشكل واظح وقد تظرب في جسده ان سددت من منتصف الملعب لسرعه حركه توجهها اليه وارتفاعها بشكل اكثر

Kinda weird that the two most important matches for her in 2022 thus far - the AO semi against Collins and Brisbane vs Barty - she lost, bigtime.
I mean.... arguably her most important matches in 2022 were the 3x finals of Masters 1000 :P
