  • Hojlund reminds me a lot of van Nistelrooij. Lethal poacher, but is equally capable of scoring goals out of thin air (basically all his goals with man utd ATM). He is an even greater prospect than Haaland (maybe a bit of a stretch but damn does it feel good to have such a talent in our team)

  • As a Arsenal fan, the moment I saw him play against us earlier in the season I knew he was a quality signing gave Gabriel something to think about , physically his hold up and link up play is exceptional I would say better than Haaland in that respect. Score all kinds of goals , strong and has a very deceptive pace and acceleration . Funniest thing about him now is hes still not really getting proper service from his wide players, united just need someone that can cross and play him in more and he will cook. Kinda jealous as we dont have a striker .

    @ReinierRuneScape@ReinierRuneScape2 ай бұрын
    • They still cannot. He are absurdly the striker in PL that have received the least assists. Rasmus on the other hand are not selfish but a teamplayer that see his teammates and are getting assists under his belt as well as goals. One have to question ETH´s managerial capabilities when he are not able to get his wingers and upper midfield to find Rasmus for now 6th months straight,. Rasmus are getting these goals by himself and that are a testament to the toxic dysfunctional player power at Man U, Make a serious fire sale in June when the window opens, then get rid of ETH and hire Thomas Frank, then hire the new players and accept the burden it will be that most will leave with a financial loss attached to them. Those positions that there are not money enough to replace with top proven player, then have to use younger talents from the academy and Europe. Thomas Frank would be the man for that rebuild in my opinion.

    • That might be partially his fault though.I don't really rate Henry that much,but there is something that stuck with me "Don't expect everyone to be Denis Bergkamp and find you wherever you are,some people are like Pires that do a 1-2 pass,or some people are like Ljunberg that see you only when you are in front of them. In other words play to your teammates strengths,and you'll make them look good and you'll get your opportunities.

    • @@Mike-zx1kx I wont question ETH for not being able to get the wingers to pass to Rasmus.. But I will question him for thinking that Rasmus could play well with those wingers.. ETH had the answer last season using a false 9 with martial and Weghorst and somehow rip up that blueprint to bring in Rasmus and then expect Rashford and Garncaho to start passing just like that.. Never going to happen.. Same issue like when we bought CR.. Either change the wingers to get the best out of Rasmus/CR at the time or buy a false 9 if Rashford is your guy.. The balance is off..

    • @@akeemguy7331 If you have a strong number 9 you have won the lottery in modern football. And when you even have one that are not selfish and still tick all the boxes, acceleration, speed, ability to be physical without overstepping rule books, ability to both be in right spot for the tap ins as well as taking it all the way from midfield alone, THEN you have to be able to utilise that. I personally do not care whom or how many that have to be removed to, once and for all, break the dysfunctional player power but has to be NOW! We cannot have another decade of this BS. Better to accept a season or two with lower results due to the financial hit and a bunch of new players but something radical have to happen. I cannot recognise myself in anything ETH says at post match pressers. BUT let him stay for a while until the window opens and we kick out all the deadwood and begin the rebuild. That are my opinion.

    • @@akeemguy7331 Garnacho i'm sure will start to find him more as time goes on, the thing with Højlund is that he is suuper clever with his runs and positioning and knows he has the pace to not start his runs at 100% speed but rather go at 70% and then accelerate when the ball gets played to him which creates much more space and is one of the reasons why he is so deadly infront of goal (for instance look at this goals during international duty when people actually play the pass even when it's hard to manage passes he still just bangs it into the back of the net), but that approach leaves un seasoned players or bad visionaries un able to find him because they don't think he will reach the ball or is even trying to get into the goal scoring spot, you can often see Garnacho look up trying to find him but see he is behind another player and then instead go for the shot, drible or just run to the backline, so all it takes is for him to start to trust Højlund to get the ball and then play it infront of him for an easy 1 on 1 situation.. Rashford however i doubt will ever try, he never seem like he is looking for the pass or Højlund in general, he has only 1 thing in mind, and thats cutting into the box and having a shot.

Sadly he didnt stay long enough to win the ÖFB Cup for my team. It was our first trophy after many years again. His impact was huge and we couldnt decline the offer from Atalanta because for an austrian club this was lots of money. As far as I know, we also got again some money when Atalanta sold him to Manchester United. I think there was something in his contract. He had a huge impact for us because we can finally compete with Red Bull Salzburg. The club that won the austrian League 10 times in a row.

It is one of the periods hojlund has felt most down, and being benched and sold to sturm graz from his childhood dream club, is one of biggest fuels hojlund has been working from since then. Everyone around copenhagen knew Emil & Oskar has serious talent. but no one thought rasmus would be the one of them. The coach said it himself in an interview. 🙂just so we all know and understand hojlund, and why he is the workhorse that he is 😇He has to work for it. And who knew, it turns out working hard is a talent in itself, not everyone can.

  • Looking at those big money transfers makes you think. Can any of them (excluding Hojlund, he's not been there long enough to assess him) be considered a success? the best of the bunch is Harry Maguire, I think he's been unfairly denigrated by United's "Fans", I guess he was brought in play in one style but is struggling with ten Haag's needs, which are very different. Lukaku seems to last 2 seasons per club, he scored the goals for United but we won nothing, just showing that goals are only a part of the game. Sancho, a washout. Antony, a washout, which everybody but ten Haag can see and Paul Pogba??? He was great for a season and a half. It all seems to suggest that that whoever decided on those players is not able to see whether a good player is good enough, (stable enough), to play for United. So that's where I think the changes are required. And of course we can't sell the players because we paid too much for them, who's going to pay anything like what we paid and their wages are so ridiculous that United has to subsidise them if they do get a move. And they won't agree to a move because they are guaranteed those wages till the end of their contracts.

  • Main striker for the next 6 or 7 seasons? So you mean you think we should replace him literally when he is hitting his prime and playing the very best he can? No, the point of Hojlund, Garnacho, Mainoo are to build a team around them with all their young ages for the next 10 to 15 years. Just like the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Neville, Rooney etc. United over the last few years have seriously ramped up their Academy again, as we can see by how they're dominating the leagues again, that will transpire into more like Garnacho and Mainoo coming into the first team and having huge potential. Ten Hag and United have completed changed this for the better and for the future of the club.

Regarding League games, Højlund got off to a terrible start for several different reasons, he he moved to a new club and league being injured and in United he was hardly getting any service, but now he has 7 goals and 2 assists in 20 games so far for United, playing 1,474 minutes, leading to him being selected as EPL player of the month. He now also holds the record of being the youngest player ever to have scored in 6 consecutive Premier League games.
