Man these have grown on me so much. I actually think they look great. Unique, yes, but unmistakably Porsche, and the form follows function. I think now that sloped backs are more common and in today’s suv world, these stand out in all the right ways.

Me: I like that interior. Doug: It has an old person interior. Me: (Looks in mirror) .....damn..
Same I love steering wheels with a mix of leather and wood
Same. I was thinking it's gorgeous with the right colours and that wood looks great. Black interiors are boring people's choice, especially if they come with aluminium or piano black. That makes the interior too dark and feels enclosed.
ThirteenMatt couldn’t agree more. Beige leather interiors are just the business. They also pair well with any wood tint, whether it be a light toned wood like the one in this video, or a darker wood.
@@nicolasbocchino3761 I'm on my 4th car with beige leather. I've had one with black leather, I never want one again.
ThirteenMatt my father had 2 Audi a8s with beige leather and a Renault velsatis with beige leather and the interiors look great. He also had a 2003 s class with black leather and it was pretty dark and gloomy
I was never a huge fan but I've got to be honest , I think it's aged pretty well . I always thought of it (the V8 twin turbo) as the world's hottest hatch rather than a station wagon .
It’s missing a window panel to be considered a station wagon. It’s a 4 door hatch to me.
Hot hatch?! The size is 2x the size of a focus st 😂
i always loved the sloped back.
"Elderly person interior" Shit, I really like the gathered leather and the color, especially if it was on a red or green car. I must be getting old...
herranton1979 yup its a typical elderly person interior
I agree, this interior looks good. Seeing as elderly people are driving Toyota Avalons and Chevy Malibus which have all black interiors and carbon trim, looks like thats actually the elderly person interior, not beige haha.
I hate new interiors tbh. Bunch of piano plastic everywhere. Don’t even get me started on the lack of visibility.
I'd much prefer this to my interior of all black...especially in FL heat. And it kills me because the pillars and ceiling of my car is almost white. Why Dodge couldn't do some kind of two tone with black and white.. or a majority white interior for the modern Dart idk
He trippen I love that peanut butter interior

That TDF in the intro for example
One year ago, I have bought 2014 Panamera, with 50k miles on it, for 36k$, and so far, I haven't had a single problem whatsoever. The level of comfort and luxury you get, cannot be compared with most of the cars that old, in that money range. My opinion is that this one is underestimated due high cost of maintenance and repairs, but , lets face it, every German car is like that. On the other hand, they don't break down often, and my mechanic told me that like a month before I got it, its a quality built .
ur right bro. all my cars r german, i own an X5 and a mercedes benz e350 and im planni g to buy a panamera nxt year. i dont understand why people keep on talking about the repair cost, thats what meachanical breakdown insurance r for. my x5 this year was serviced , they replaced the fuel injections, ignition coils, water pump, thermostat, sparkplugs. juat normal wear and tear, overall cost is arpund 5 grand, but aince i have the insurance i only paid 350$ for everything. nothing beats the performace of german cars. the build quality alone is far more better. i hate to say this but driving japanese feels like playing with a toy, doesnt matter if its the latest models. the difference r miles away.
Just wait mate. It's a black hole.
Hey Bosko, Do you get your car serviced at Porsche or non dealer mechanic?
@@bTome9123 Non dealer mechanic, he's a friend actually, 2 years now just oil and filter change and no problems yet. I have asked him, and he is a BMW schooled mechanic, since I have had BMW 2013 750 Alpina, with messed up transmission, what do you think ,should I go with this Panamera, he just said go for it, they made them good . I was a sceptic in the beginning, but now, man, I am really happy, will drive it till it runs. Few days ago, since have I paid it off, went to Carvana website just to see how much will their estimate be, for exchange, and at this moment I have 85k miles on it, they said little over 38k, which, given this market ,makes sense. Also, I would like to add to my original comment, its a chick magnet.
@@boskojankovic8570 I'm looking at a '14 with 78k miles for $41k. It's Amethyst and it's definitely purple in the sun. Just not sure if it's a smart buy. Car is at the dealership that sold and serviced it and it has 1 owner.
Between the power & decent speed, the plush luxury, the legit 4-person seating, and tremendous cargo area, this seems like a damn bargain. It looks different, but it's really not ugly like some cars out there. Good stuff.

I don’t understand the gripe with the way the Panamera looks I’ve always loved the way they look
Panamera design looks great to me!
I think it might be because the picture of a Porsche most people have in their mind is the sleek, balanced, well proportioned 911. The Panamera looks like the 911 got old, ate all the food, and gave up on life. Some people are into that look, just not most
I'm more worried about reliability
@@darioschaeffer5513 Same here. I'll bet it costs a fortune to have someone work on it and do maintenance.

I test drove the Panamera at a Porsche driving event when it first came out. the first thing that struck me was due to the thick Doors+ Big center console+ bucket seats= very little personal space for the driver. at the time I owned a 996 and sitting & driving that car made me claustrophobic. I now drive a V6 '14 Honda Crosstour...aka "Hondamera" and love it. Thanks Doug!!

Yeah true. $1500 every year plus if you kill the engine or transmission that's $10000 easy. Even tyres are twice as much.
Mess around and buy this and you have to sell a limb every oil change
HOONSTARS do u think most people will service their cars themselves? The answer is no. Therefore for most people service and parts are a problem. Also in the example the Porsche is 2012. 8 year old definitely brings problems either Toyota or Rolls Royce.
When did 30k become cheap?

@Jay U Beige is the epitome of subdued.
I agree. Beige is da bomb. And it actually hides dust really well (unlike black that shows every spec). That said, this one has a little TOO MUCH beige: Headliner, pillars, dash top, dash bottom, carpet, seats, steering wheel, etc. it would be nice if they broke it up a little bit.

Not sure if anyone already addressed this. The speed limitation is for the winter tires which were on the car at one time (M+S = Matsch + Schnee). This used to be more common. The owner most likely never bothered to remove the sticker when fitting Summer or Allweather tires.
I've been looking at one of these to replace my Nissan V36. I actually think they look really good especially for their age..it looks like something from 2015-2020. I do have a Porsche Macan so I do know the tail lights are old compared to their new design, but unless youre into Porsche's most people wouldn't realise that. But as Doug said, theyre so well made. Great looking car, the V8 with exhaust mods sounds beautiful, you can swap out the steering wheel for a 971 which modernises it massively, and you can get an audio specialist to upgrade the PCM to a more modern stereo with Google Drive / Apple Car Play which gives you much improved Infotainment (had this done on the Macan).
Great to know, an apple car play aftermarket head unit is all this needs really! And a sub! But it’s got the boot space for it so, yeh, great fun car that also doubles as practical family car.
the macan is a dumb product LMFAO why would you pay SO much money for such a crossover
I’m not sure what PCM means but are you saying you can have they update the existing infotainment system in a 2012 to somehow have apple CarPlay in it? I would hate to have to put an aftermarket double din in dash in it, as it steals away the beauty & just kinda looks trashy in my opinion on a luxurious car that was over a $100,000 new.
Me: Damn that interior is nice! Doug: The interior is for old people. Me: Dammit Doug!
Doug needs to ride a late 80s Buick for some serious old people interior

That is a great color for the interior, especially if you live in a hotter climate like Las Vegas or Phoenix. Black is the worst color for those places. Great review. The Panamera was first displayed at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2009! I am fortunate enough to own the last year of a Gen 1: a 2016 Panamera S e-hybrid with hard buttons that provide instant feedback, unlike the 2017+ NextGen 2 touch screen versions which have seen a slight increase in front end collisions. Overall, an incredible vehicle that enables one to own green plates, utilise HOV lanes, save fuel, drive quietly, handle incredibly, while owning Porsche's only supercharged engine vehicle, with superb styling and turn heads!
"superb styling" guess you didn't watch the video, that harsh slope in that back is anything but elegant and there's a reason other sloped back sedans are much smoother and don't squat down in the rear like they're taking a shit

Beige interiors look luxurious to me

IKR, they feel just as bright as white ones, but without the problem of dirtiness. I never liked dark interiors, they just feel overwhelming, but admittedly, black is gonna last forever. I always get a kick of Dougs hand movements in sections, like the single cup holder thing. He’s like a hand model
Maybe cause I once owned a 928... I actually love the design of the 970 Panamera ...loved it from launch... maybe it's a london thing!😁
A voice cries out, “Endless money pit!” Or maybe not. I’m not sure.
That PDK is likely to cost a lot over the long term. And the brakes.
haha, definitively. the entry ticket hide the big bill behind.
x689thanatos basically like getting into a super cheap theme park but once youre in, the food, drinks and fun rides cost a lot
Scotty - "ANY OLD USED GERMAN CAR IS A PILE OF 💩 AND A SMALL FORTUNE"
x689thanatos my rear brakes for my Panamera cost me 140 to install kit cost 300
My wife is going to hate Doug when I tell her he just convinced me to finally pull the trigger on a used Panamera.
Not gonna lie, I'd get one if I could afford it.
Good luck with maintenance
Did you kill it? Oh god I hope you let it live.
Trust me your wife already hated doug
It convinced me. I got a BEAUTIFUL grey 2011 for 20k. Expensive car to maintain but I’m satisfied
I have always LOVED the way these look. It has been in my top five favorite cars of all time since it came out in 2010
It's on my wish list for a long time... It's reliable enough for me to buy a Panamera Instead of 2021 Toyota Avalon Limited
I like the design but the Porsche CEO says it's ugly
@@Mustansirtaher6 it's a 911 with a dad bod. Some are into that, but I guess the CEO isn't
hell yea
I don't know how people like the design of these...its the ugliest car Porsche ever made lol
In 2015 My wife and I bought a 2014 Panamera S with 28k on it. It's loaded up really well and it's an S !! So it hauls azz. She was always hestitant due to the back window and the style...however as a 911 owner, I told her that only people behind you trying to catch up are looking at the rear end. Not to worry about it. LOL. We now have 60k on it, and it's still worth about 30k or more based on the Used Car Market being what it is now. The car is older in looks, but it still turns heads and when my nephews come over...they all want to go for a ride in it. I would love to have a new one, with the blacked out center console, but we are very happy with ours. Maintenance can be expensive...brakes for the front and back are both over 1k with Porsche parts, NONE Dealer installed. Overall, the car is a great one to have and it replaced a BMW 750iL which cost more to maintain than the Panamera. Good review Doug...keep them coming.
18:48 that backdrop is gorgeous
San Gorgonio Mountain
California is beautiful dude!!! I lived there for six months and travel all over the place!!! You’ll never get bored there...
The city is right at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains...not gonna lie I love living there.
I'm pretty sure Doug takes his two shirts to CNC motors and lives in their parking lot to film cars.
Had a black/black Panamera S in 2012 when it was new. Liked the air suspension, valved exhaust, power window shades. Drove like a Porsche should. Put 22x9.5 & 22x11.0 forged monoblocks on it and rode practically stock. Had that car for 13 months; drove it 5200 miles and added 10 quarts of oil in that time. Had an opportunity to punch out of my lease and did. Went back to Japanese cars and never looked back. Nobody wants a German car out of warranty; how the mighty have fallen!
space around an engine is always appreciated.
I think Panameras look good, actually. Latest GT ones are so nice.
Leroy Brown Saw them everywhere when I was in Germany. The wagons looks amazing in person
Yes definitely Porsche are on an unstoppable roll
Panamera's look like a Dodge Magnum and a 2000's era 911 drank a bottle of Jagermeister and forgot to wear a condom
Love their look
I hope everyone hates these things.... more for me!!! IDGAF what a bunch of SUV/Crossover driving yuppies think... most of them are just trend riding posers and wouldn’t know automotive style if they got ran over by it

Your knowledge combined with intelligence and charisma (and a little hard work? lol) has made this one of my favourite and go-to car channels. Edit: Noticing and highlighting the extended arm rest on the doors and also justifying its implementation is impressive attention to detail.
This is my favorite car off all time. They all look great to me. My only gripe is the plastic steering wheel, the lack of 3 seats in the back, and 6 speed manual is hard to find. But its the best looking car. I love cars that have hatch and Porsche was bold to start the trend with a luxury car.
Me: That interior looks nice! Doug: This interior is for old people. DOH!
tbh it doesn't look old for a 10 year old car
Same...
Must be the woody steering wheel.
He said it without saying it. Lol. But, yes...old people.
@Angry Ox This is worse. It's beige.
