This song is my forever crush
🙋
,,🙋♂️
Yes, i was in my teens when this song came out....im 44 now....one of my favorites👍
Is it just me, or does anyone else get really sad that this time has passed. To the point that you want to somehow travel back to this time and never leave. Also, do you think previous generations feel this to?? Can't believe this was so long ago now....feels like just yesterday. ❤😢
Every generation has had and will have this
Find a way to cope and move on
Nostalgia hits hard, these times were so much better we had more privacy and connection with our people
I want to go back to the 70/80s❤❤❤❤
Yup
Man the memories. Who else misses this kind of music? 80s/90s/00s music was just 🤌

Gen Z cannot understand how impossible it was to avoid this song in 1998. It was everywhere.
I heard this playing in the radio on my way back from work.
I was a real nice thing “not skipping a song” though..
as a 26 yr old zillenial that restaurant is bussin
98? you fucking kidding me? This fucking 30 years old man thinking they own the fucking 90s or something, it’s so fucking pathetic, barely millenials discovering a hit song. Ps: barely millenials are the worst lmao
@@fucku9849 Damn one comment doesn’t mean that an entire generation of millions of people are the worst

It does Jennifer uploaded it 5 yrs ago but I don't know if it's any better but definitely I want to see it in HD over 1800 mega pixels
It depends if it was shot on tape or film. This could be as good as it gets.

In 1998 I was 17, now I'm 40, seems like it was yesterday
Anton M I'm 17 now..so basically I'm where you were about 23 years back...
I was 16 when this came out. I so feel you, almost like life just last us by 😥 wouldn't we all give up everything to just go relive our past one more time. Man I always wish there was a time machine or some sort of supernatural power that I'll go back someday just to relive one moment
I was 20! Lol. Feeling old!
I was 23
I was 14. Where did the years go!?
When life gets too complicated, I put on my 90s playlist and travel back to the good ol' days 🎶
Me too, because a lot of the music from the 90's always makes me happy. 😊
Me too guys, scientifically us humanbeings recording memories on music and perfumes. Emotions, motivation and willpower is getting less day by day year by year as we learn that real life is not as we have dreamed during our teenage years and 20’s included. Keep on diggin’ for that rare song haven’t been listened for ages!
Me 2!
Je suis de France et nous partageons le même avis que vous . Nous avons vraiment connu une période bénie. Je suis triste pour ces jeunes générations.
Put on your 80s playlist and you will feel even better.

mafia kimpet good stuff, thank you for sharing
There's something about the music of the 90s and 80d that just sounds so damn good! It's the fusion of the instruments and voice and heart and everything. Really special. I'm very glad I was born to be kid in these eras.
songs had a lot of pro artists working on them for months. ghost writers. session musicians. sound engineers. most songs now start in someones bedroom on a laptop and sometimes finish there lol
The real answer to that is nostalgia
In 1998 everything was still done on big consoles in studios. Now it's a laptop and a UAD card. The only person who still actually has hardware is the mastering engineer, but he's working on someone's laptop stems.
Here we are, 4/4/24 Perfect lyrics Perfect baseline Perfect vocals To be expected from that era.

I was a little kid when this song came out and I remember it was always on the radio and on tv. I remember my mom and my older sister would always sing along to it whenever it came on. The song was so hypnotic to little me. It’s crazy running into this today and hearing it for the first time in decades, now being able to understand what the song is about. Nostalgic and bittersweet feeling. Sweet good times growing up.
The bass line and side stick beat are absolutely KILLER!
The bass is highly underrated

Totally agree! The memories.
I'm listening in 2020, because this is clearly one of the best songs from the late 90's, and i always gets addicted to it everytime i hear it because this is a fantasic song that always makes me happy when i hear it. Just like it was back in the 90's.

This song has held up so well over the years - not just the tune and feel of it, but the sentiment behind it.
I walked into this playing today (1-10-24) in one of my liquor store accounts, Man does this bring back memories and make me feel like I’m in my 20s
I remember hearing it in Walmart, when it 1st came out. I believe '98 or '99. I was like, wow who's that!
Such a great song. I am a girl who mainly listens to R&B, but this song is a classic! I've loved this song since I was a kid. And as I grew up I came to appreciate how well Jennifer can really sing!
Let me tell you, If you’re gonna be a one hit wonder, this is the song that you want to record. It’s a brilliantly produced record. The lyrics are universal and her vocals are sultry and powerful. 10/10
People knock 1 hit wonders but they got 1 more hit than the rest of us. I've always liked this song and it came on yesterday at work and I realized I had no idea who sings it.

@CAL4life but youre still a loser no matter what
Started with Cardigans 'Lovefool' .... and No Doubts 'Don't Speak'... now I'm locked in a playlist of 90s goodness
Pushing 30 i'm glad to see that is more people here on KZhead that listen to real music from the 90's, because i'm a really really big fan of The Cardigans because they're my absolute favorite rock band of all times, and the first song i heard with The Cardigans was Lovefool so that songs is bringing back a lot of good old memories from the 90's in my opinion. 🙂 And the 90's pop songs was beautiful compared to todays shitty pop music.
and I'm following u
en 1991 j'ai débuté avec Nevermind, puis je me suis arrété à l'année 2000 avec Garbage
Same here. And an ignorant millennial neighbor shouts 'what the heck I'm playing. I shot back: 'Not the garbage your generations now are hooked into. Btw, I'm now into Cher's 'Believe'.:-)
Lovefool and Dont speak were my favorite songs at this time, so many good songs!
I loved ❤ this song so much , I sung it at my High School talent show , I got a standing ovation , after that night , I was known for the 10th grader with the soulful voice 😂 ! Good times .
Jennifer Paige, Tina Arena, Selena, Dido, Natalie Imbruglia and many others are simply nice. They only proved that you can be great at singing without showing too much skin. ❤❤❤
Pure 90s pop perfection.
true😍
Songs were so good at capturing emotions back then, it all flowed out so naturally. Nowadays everything's forced bc people's emotions are forced too. Nobody knows how to be real anymore.
and this much more true if u are born in 80' when a decade
Saw the new Resident Evil movie yesterday, and it has one of the weirdest (and possibly unintentionally funniest) uses of this song I've ever seen in a movie.

Same here. But it's missed because it's no longer here, which makes it so much more genuine. Enjoy now because in a decade you'll be saying the same thing believe it or not. I probably will too.....
It actually hurts to see this. How did American culture and the music industry steer away from this? This is when American culture was pinnacle.
I believe the downward spiral started after 9/11 happened but that is just my opinion. The film industry has also experienced a downside also. Again just my opinion.
I seems that American culture was at the peak of its splendor in the second half of the 20th century.
This is really an amazing song
@@STMARTIN009 I totally agree. I personally noticed the downward spiral in 2004, specifically. You’re right on the money.
@@randomgeographer4410 Excellent observation. I would say that the late ‘60s up to the year 2000 was our cultural peak of creativity, influence and dominance. Everything was in full bloom.

This was playing at the hotel this morning. It just took me back... Love the song.
Nothing like the late 90's....I just can't help but smile when I hear this song!!!!
Delia Hardy so agree
Delia Hardy me too! :)
Delia Hardy I know every generation thinks their childhood music was best but I really think the 90s were the decade for ballads. (80s for dance)
Happy times. Jennifer Paige, Natalie Imbruglia, Savage Garden, No Doubt... oh sure there was a lot of awful music around too, but enough good tunes not to be bothered with the bad ones.
Errr....I have to respectfully disagree! However this is highly subjective and almost impossible to answer. The 1950s probably had the best quality of romantic ballads (Nat King Cole, Doris Day), and the 1980s had the power ballads (too many to mention!). The 1970s had the folk and pop ballads. The 1990s had a few ballads but mostly boring, over commercialised stuff like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. I was a teen during the 1980s and it was the decade of a style genre explosion.
My grandad was singing this while he was decorating he didn't know me and my Nana were watching him while he was using the paint brush as a mic. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Hi five!
This is exactly why I came here! 😂😂
Always loved this song, 1998 was a great year but the entire 90s was the best ever decade
I have memories of being in Wisconsin Dells, sitting in a dark car, on the way to a movie theater to see the movie Alien Resurrection. It's all really hazy, but this song was playing and looking out the window, the world just felt so full of possibilities. Like something really good might happen at any moment. I really miss feeling like that.
There is a scene in the new Resident Evil movie which is set in 1998 where this is played and it is HILARIOUS.
SPOILER when Leon sleeps with his headphones on while the truck arrives to smash everything and explode 😂😂😂😂

I remember when this song originally released. I was 14 and it had major radio air time back in 98. Kinda wished she had a longer career in the music industry but unfortunately she was more of a one hit wonder. Still awesome to hear after all these years.
Chris J Who was eclipsing female pop back then? Look what happed when Trey Songz came out.....male RNB singers careers were stunted, and he led for like 4 years. Wasn’t Britney crowning around this time?? I’m just saying it may have had more to do with her competition around that time.
I always thought she'd come back with another hit but she gave us gold with this one song, thank you💜😊
@@patricew.4010 it was 100% because Britney and teen pop took over! The issue is everyone tried modelling their artists off her shortly after this.
@@rikindanger1079 actually I believe Paige's issue was more of bad timing due to something else. She released her sophomore album September 18, 2001; and it's common knowledge of what happened at that time. Most entertainment releases flopped right after 9/11...especially US releases...
I was 16
