Many Rolex owners wear the replica and keep the Gen in the safe. Or you can wear the replica and keep the original in the store.
The difference in polish of the parts of the movement is the difference in pay 10k vs 600$ With 10k they invested more labour on each part to make it smooth. It comes to blue spring balance wheel i think its called. So comes to all how good it keeps the time and i dont think rep is far from that either.

There have been huge jumps lately. The new ones are indistinguishable without inspecting the balance wheel. A Franken with a genuine bridge and balance wheel would be impossible to tell.
Movement will always be the biggest tell because a replica watch can't factor in the cost of a free sprung balance. It's just too expensive for them to add, they wont enter circulation and the only way someone will pick one up is if they purchase without authenticating prior so that would be their own fault and no dealer would purchase it upon inspection.
@@matthewsmcdill Not true either cause you'll still have issues with the finishes, it would have to be a fully frankened movement not just the balance wheel and at that price it wouldnt even be worthwhile doing that. mainplate serial engraving is poor so that's the obvious tell along with it always being engraved with the same serial number. The finishing you would have the change alot of parts to get it to pass an initial inspection

I bought a VSF superclone just over a year ago and frankly it is everything that I would want from a real one. I recently went into a Rolex AD in Paris and looked at the real thing. Couldn't tell the difference. Yes the clone doesn't keep as good time but on the wrist it feels and wears brilliant and all for $600.

VSF makes one of the best sub reps right now. That’s a fine watch, ignore the haters. I collect gen and have reps as well. There is very little difference in the superclones and gen. No one can tell unless they’re very experienced and are allowed a close inspection.

The reason high end replicas are getting so close is because a normal steel rolex costs around 2000€ (and some degens are paying over 10 times that on the grey market) to produce, a high end replica is sold for 1000€ and the profit margins are way way smaller, in the near future we will probably get replicas that are indestinguishable to the real watches and cost a tenth of the original
No the best out of the box high end replica, being the VSF is around $480 from a trusted dealer. $1000+ and you're in franken territory or getting hustled.

A CF or BTF Daytona is around $780 from a TD, that's the best Daytona clone you can get. Both of them have clone movements that accept genuine parts. Above that you're talking custom and franken and you can go as high as you want with it.

I am sure in one of the photo, the authentic and fake photo of the movement was swapped but I guess the editor did not notice and post the wrong tag for on it... The finishing on the rolex name on the movement was really bad yet it was labelled authentic @8:54 not just teh name, but even the screws are not polished

I was fortunate to score a Starbucks from my AD shortly after they were released and it has been my daily wear for the past 2 years. I don't think I could tell the difference between the real thing and a fake just by looking at it on someone's wrist. It's truly amazing how good the replicas are today.
I make great money and have a few genuine expensive watches, but mostly, I wear super clones. Why buy one sub for 15k when I can get a VSF sub, Clean Daytona Panda, VSF DJ, GMFv5 GMT master II, BPF DayDate40 all for around 3 grand. All with full clone rolex movements and the best finishing China can put out. It just doesnt make sense to me to settle for one watch when I can wear all of my grails.
@@the_snopro fair, but besides for VSF, the movements are really not so great. You also lose out on warranty’s. The worst downfall is the feeling knowing you are wearing something inauthentic. Do you tell your friends, family, co workers that it’s fake? On that same note, I rep a no date VSF daily.
@Everything Yugioh have you looked at a clean with 4130? And i don't tell anyone anything, if they ask I do but no one asks. Doesn't really bother me the authentic thing, I buy what I like and it doesn't matter if it's made in Switzerland or China if it's the difference of a new motorcycle or set of tires on the car for the mindset just because I paid more for it. Could you make a video highlighting the realities of someone interested in watch dealing? I'm 22 years old and completing my Masters Degree at the moment. In my spare time I enjoy reading about watches, and have a passion for watches in general. I'm interested in watch dealing (part time) if its realistically possible to make make more than $2500 per month doing it. I don't think I'll be able to sell high end watches to start, mostly watches in the 500-$5000 range. I'm a people person, and I don't think I'd struggle with building a network with other watchmakers, and buyers. I would just love to hear your perpsectives on the realities of someone wanting to be a grey market dealer. Have a good one :)

Having watched (no pun intended) several of these videos comparing fakes with OEM versions, there's one question no one has even raised, let alone answered. That is, how do these fakes, replicas or clones actually perform? Compared to OEMs, do they fail to keep time as accurately, do they fail prematurely, or do they otherwise not perform as well? That's an equally, if not more important question. What if they're actually better? Since their exterior and interior appearance is indistinguishable to all but most highly trained eyes and if they're better, or even equal performance-wise for a fraction of the cost, why not get one?

I have been a watch enthousiaste for the past 21 years and have seen the evolution of the replicas for so many years. I can tell you that unless you own or are holding an authentic one your hand, it is very hard to tell them apart and I would be afraid of purchasing an expensive timepiece for someone I do not know... Especially a ROLEX !
You can tell easy by look at the balance wheel , in Rolex it has a free sprung wheel with tiny screws attached to it while the replica has no screws only regulator , that the easiest way to tell in Rolex watches

The replica watches have movements that match the Rolex movement or are actually better! That’s why they will never show time graphed tests in these types of vides. If you want a Rolex just get a replica for a fraction of the prices.

This video has educated me on how even successful and wealthy people can be brainwashed by marketing and sponsorship strategies. These fake companies are still profiting by selling a near identical watch for 10x less money... I'm afraid Rolex has been robbing everyone this whole time. To help you out a bit though, I think the date changer is extremely precise at the midnight position for Rolex but is slightly less precise for replica. I don't know how easy this would be to fix since it requires extremely precise tolerance, so it may be a lasting difference. Also there's a slight font difference on the 3 for the date wheel in this video. Another thing is some dateless rolex have a ghost date, however people can easily remove these.

Have to tell you guys in 2023 they have now an even Higher end replica than that, this time they perfected the feeling of the movement itself so thats also being removed as a tell. Also they somehow have equipment to do the laser etching in the sapphire to mimic the crown at 6 oclock so thats not a tell anymore either. Basically you can buy a rep if you want and no one will ever know. Actually theres some sensibility in this practice. Wear your reps when traveling and just leave your real watches at home or in your safe.

The original reason pre quartz for owning a quality timepiece, was that it kept time very accurately in a world where most cheap watches did not. Post quartz, the reason for owning a high quality mechanical timepiece was that it was finished to an exquisite level of detail. High quality manufacturing was expensive. Now with cheap and very accurate high quality manufacturing the second point mentioned above, does itself begins to wane. The only thing that cannot be replicated are precious metals etc.
So after watching this video i'm not sure if I will continue to purchase expensive watches at retail because the technology is so advance that i can have a nice watch for less than $100.00... Yes I know it's not much resale value but less risk and the money can be used for things more important.
The super reps are more then $100. Most are in the $500-1,000+ range.

With the level of quality these clones have reached and the near impossibility of an average Joe getting a Rolex from an AD and at MSRP, there's really only one reason why you would go for the genuine article: *You* would always know you have a fake on your wrist. And that knowledge would bother me quite a bit. That said: The fact that there are these insanely well done replicas out there says a lot about the industry in general and about Rolex in particular. Rolex watches have always been top quality items (that was/is their appeal after all) but they were obtainable to anyone who had a decent income and a minimum of discipline. These days, Rolex have moved so far away from that level of "obtain-ability" that it's no wonder people are willing to pay $500 to over $1000 for a clone or super-clone - since it's not just required for you to have enough money but to also know the right people and/or to jump through the right hoops to get one of these from an AD.

Another easy way to determine a replica is by taking a look at the balance wheel. Genuine balance wheels have little balance weights on each of the spokes that take a lot more time and precision to balance. Reps use the more common balance arm as they're easier to balance and take less time to do it.
this is a good point - the replica movements are completely interchangable with genuine now though, so you could replace the balance wheel with the gen one.

Try this...pull out the crown and put it into the date setting mode, spin it over to five seconds before midnight and slowly advance to midnight and check the moment it snaps over to the next day.....Rolex is spot on!

Doesn't Rolex always use a free spring balance wheel with Microstella screws in their movements? I think it would be pretty easy to open the case back and use the crown hacking function to stop the balance wheel to check. No weights + regulator mechanism = no Rolex. Maybe I'm wrong?
While this is true, it is possible to swap out the balance wheel and bridge for genuine. These clone movements are so accurate real parts bolt right in. At that point, I don't think it would be possible to tell.

@@gilessteve rolex doesn't, but they are available in the secondary market for repairs and they are also used in the creation of "Frankenstein" watches. I doubt anyone but real experts would be able to tell a good replica that has had the balance bridge and balance wheel replaced. This is not common, as the parts would cost about as much as the replica watch, but I'd imagine unscrupulous individuals would use that to make money. 1k investment vs 8-10k profit if they trusted the "just open it and check the balance wheel" method of verification.

That might be an AAAAA replica, but it doesnt even come close to the excellence of a ziarex Swiss replica. You can spend less in China, but quality is worth the investment.
