McRib
The two McDonald's items I want to bring back were the deep fried apple pies and the Supersize combo.
Fries basted in beef broth, fried in lard and salted with beef salt. Their fries today taste like cardboard. They’re disgusting. I miss McDonaldland cookies. Layered with the soft serve? Duuuuude. Miss it
Interesting list of lost menu items for mc,Donald,s it's a good place for on the go food that's if you have the extra money to spend🤔🙏
The Mcsalad shaker😢
I absolutely hate it when companies of all sorts decide to get rid of something when the people like it. It doesn’t make any sense, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
My sentiments exactly!
Because if it stayed, people would eventually get tired of it and thats how they keep people wanting for more. Its just a big marketing strategy
McDonalds original fries from back in the late 90s early 2000s were so good, you would eat the fries out the bag before you made it to your destination. GUARANTEED 😂
Word
I miss the buttermilk crispy chicken strips.
YESSS
Those were disgusting compared to the original chicken selects
Same
That was my favorite item on the menu
The deep fried apple pies were DA BOMB!!!!!!
KFC has them now
@@brettbest192so does Whataburger
My absolute favorite of all time!
Preach
i liked the cherry ones better
Beef Tallow fries should be higher on the list. What a time lol.
I enjoyed Big N Tastys and Angus Burgers when they were on the menu, and I've been fortunate enough to try McPizza in Orlando. But I will forever mourn the loss of my Mighty Wings. McDonald's chicken tenders had similar seasoning as the wings, but then McDonald's went and discontinued those as well. :(
We in Poland have the shaken fries at the moment, they're called McShaker Fries. And our Apple Pies are still fried, in the same oil as nuggets or fries no less. We still have McWraps.
Sounds like I need to move to Poland! :)
They’re super popular in Japan too
Yeah some markets still have shaker fries. They're popular and a regular menu item in Japan.
Those deep fried apple pies were the BEST!!!
*What us Americans lose that other countries gain is deplorable!* 😢
The snack wrap should be number one on this list because as soon it left McDonald's began it's rapid decline in quality and affordable prices 😊
Still on sale here over in Europe
Dude, it's a shame, because I love McDonald's, but it now costs a fortune to eat there.
McDonald’s has consistently taken the items that people like and gotten rid of them, while keeping crap stuff you have to question “what human is eating this?”..
That happens with a lot of companies for some reason. And the companies that are affected and go out of business wonder what happened. Personally, it pisses me off. Like Cheez-It getting rid of their Chili Cheez Cheez Its. Seriously.
Like the mcrib haha! They bring it back worse every year and we all just want the BBQ ranch dollar burger and white cheddar hot and spicy back
@@marcusbustos2476I could have sworn the McRibb used to taste way better
@@Bman32x I used to work at McDonald's when I was in high school around 2012-13. Even then it used to be so good, id get 2 at a time haha
I think most of the items were removed because although people liked them, they stopped buying it, choosing instead cheaper items on the menu. So financially it didn't make sense anymore producing these snacks.
I wish the McRib was a permanent part of the menu. 🎉
Me too.
It is in germany🙃
Agreed. I also wish Burger King still had cinna minis.
the Buttermilk Crispy Tenders and cinnamon rolls
I miss The Arch-Deluxe that Burger was so tender & juicy.
You forgot Snack Wraps which is a completely different item than Mcwraps. I never liked the Mcwraps but loved the crispy ranch snack wrap.
I worked at McDonald’s back when we sold snack wraps and they were the best!! They must come back!!
@@darnellwilliams1139they’re always forgotten
The Fried apple pie was the best thing. The baked ones suck compared to the fried one. That crunch outside shell was amazing.
The molten filling could literally destroy a human tongue. But man, it was worth it. They were so much better.
Mighty Wings were awesome!
We all know why they gave the Super Size option the boot. It was due to a little film called "Super Size Me" and they got sued by two fat chicks that blamed Mickey D's for them being fat.
Yep and that really wasn't the whole story. As the creator and narrator of Super Size Me didn't exercise at all during this little experiment, and at the time of Super Size Me's release was a alcoholic so it wasn't just the Super Size combo there was other factors as well same with the fat girls who were sisters who sued McDonalds a day after the film came out and blamed the Quick-Service Restaurant chain for them being fat they didn't exercise at all plus were alcoholics so again there were outside factors at play here. And yes I had Super Size combos from McDonalds on occasion and after I eating one I would head to the gym and do some exercises to work off my meal plus I don't drink alcohol so I ate Super Size combos and never got fat at all from it.
I am one of those people who want the classic fries back. They were so good.
They are still great but I also miss the fries of yesteryear.
I like their vegetable oil fries because I didn’t know about the classic fries as a kid.
@@donaldkennedy9573 I have a solution. Offer both. Classic for those who want it and the new one for those who do not want the calories.
I remember one story of a devout Hindu who loved the classic fries. When he finally learned it was deep fried in beef-favored oil he returned to India as quickly as he could. The reason?: to purify and cleanse himself in the waters of the Ganges as he was a strict vegan!
@@normanlee6609 I see again I suggest 2 options for that reason.
Chopped Beefsteak sandwich. I buy Beef Tallow from Amazon and use it when I make fries at home. It's damn close to what they used to taste like. A lot closer than what they pass off now.
If WatchMojo does one for Burger King, they better have Cini-Minis at the top.
Agreed I love those things.
MAN! The Arch Deluxe was all I ate when they were available! I miss those for sure!
we miss: the price, the red and white building, the days when the app actually worked
You mean you don't love those depressing black / grey gulag looking prison buildings they have now?
Bring back the damn Szechuan sauce! That stuff was amazing!
Watching this video makes me hungry.
In 2020, prior to CO CO 1-9, they had a burger on a 'Premium' bun, topped with cheese, barbecue and fried onions. It was soooo good! I've given up hope they'd bring it back.
I forgot about McDs selling hot dogs during the 90s. Guess it was so forgettable that I don’t remember enjoying them or not. The one item that always breaks my heart of them not having anymore is McDonaldland cookies. Can’t tell you the amount of times I begged and cried to my parents to take me to McDs just to get them during the 80s. 😢
Ireland still has big tasty burgers and some deluxe ones, also has all the wraps and salad bowls
No chicken selects!??! That's upsetting. I loved those and wish they still had them 😢
I miss the cheddar melt sandwich! That was such an awesome taste, and I would love to pair it with the onion nuggets!
I wish you could taste the original fries. They were so good. Oh and you want Sze chuan sauce? 1/4 cup Sweet baby Rays bbq sauce 1/4 cup Chinese duck sauce 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce Mix all three and enjoy.
9:19 Oh, how I miss the McWraps, these were my saving grace when I was into weight training.
Honorable mentions: butterfinger mc flurry, blueberry muffin, bite sized twist cones, flavored twist cones.
Does anyone else remember that at least one day a year in the early 2000's, McDonald's would have 29 cent hamburgers and 39 cent cheeseburgers?
I miss the Cheddar Melt!! I loved that burger!!!❤
Come on, you knew Arch Deluxe would be here. I actually ate one back when it was released in the 90s. I think I was 12 at the time. And I remember I really liked it!
@watchmojo, the Cheddar Melt was the best sandwich McDonald’s ever made. You can’t keep making these lists without it.
The signature crafted burger line needs to return
Wouldn't it be awesome if every major city had one McDonald's location that had all of the menu items from around the world? I mean, there are so many countries that I would love to visit to take in their culture. But, I don't want to have to fly all the way over to Egypt to try a McFalafel. Like there are so many crazy menu items out there... I just wish there was one flagship McDonald's restaurant in every mega city where I could at least try a McKroket (Netherlands), or a McLavash (Ukraine), or even to have a nice batch of those old school onion nuggets! I miss those!
I saw the last clip you guys used with the guy speed blitzing the drive in order up and I had the video set to 2 times speed, managed to make it even funnier to me would recommend!
Not mentioned as another prime contributor to the demise of the 1/3 pound angus burger was that people were confused as to thinking the 1/4 pounder was bigger, making the higher price of the 1/3 pound burger even more of an issue, despite the angus beef used. This also happened to A&W restaurants when they unveiled a third pounder.
R.I.P. to the McDonald’s dollar menu 2002-2014, gone but not forgotten 🥀
Salad Shakers were absolute genius! They included meat and eggs (harder to find on salads these days), and the mechanism allowed for perfect distribution of the dressing.
Szechuan sauce was so good
I miss the Mc DLT. That was my favorite McDonald's sandwich!
Back in 2003, there was a McDonald's in southern Delaware that had crabcake sandwiches on their menu❤
Glad the Philippines still offers the Shake Fries
What I'd like most to see returned are the McChicken,The QLT,and The Bacon McDLT.
I remember those fries as a kid just around when the recipe was changed I always wanted a super sized meal as a kid but I never got my chance
Why do we not talk about the buttermilk crispy tenders? I miss them so much they were so good
11:18 I had forgotten about those, these were the best with them shaped like the McDonald’s characters
I miss the Mcwrap by far my favorite McDonald's item. They also had a smaller wrap that I loved! Bring one back plz!
Old School Hot Apple "DEEP FRIED" pies are #1
I work at McDonald's in Canada and we still have McWraps and Snack Wraps! We do bake the pies though, but I think they're ok that way! However, we have another restaurant called Harvey's that fries the pies and they are better. My Dad gets quite offended at the difference 😂
Seriously the wraps should have another shot since we’ve gotten the resurgence of chicken wraps starting with Burger King with Carls Jr following up.
The shake shake fries is permanent here in the Philippines
I miss the fruit and yogurt parfaits
The fried apple pies were goated
The McDonald's Turkey Club is my favorite discontinued item ! 2004 !
99 cents for a 6 piece and 3.29 for a 20 piece!!! Oh how I miss the good ole days. 😢
Yes, those heavenly deep fried apple & cherry pies with the crinkly crusts, & the classic Orange drink (not Hi-C), IMO the most heartbreaking losses; but if Rally's & Popeyes still deep fry their pies....
The Fiah McBites were AMAZING! Bring those and fried pie back!!!!
There are McDonald's products that are created for specific international markets that I wish were available here in the mainland U.S. I remember in 1991 when I went to Hawaii, a McDonalds there offered a McTeriyaki burger. It was really tasty.
4.49 cents for a 1/3 pounder. Now we pay 4.89 for a medium fry, 7.15 for a big mac and 7.39 for a 1/4 pounder. Yet they were nervous back than. hahaha
I think the bigger problem is that too many Americans believe 1/3 is smaller than 1/4.
Angus ⅓ pounder was also a competition to Carl's Jr./Hardee's, who were also selling a similar product that was char-grilled.
Sadly as an Aussie I never got to see or try most of these. I'd love to see some of this variety on the menu here.
The Angus ⅓ pounder shroom and Swiss was my jam back in the day
i miss the mcsalad shaker!
You can get something similar to fried apple pie at church's chicken. So good!
The McJordan meal came back as the Travis Scott meal. I think theyre identical except with the Travis Scott meal you have to get a Sprite with it and the BBQ sauce is not on the burger like the MJ meal but comes as a dipping sauce on the side.
McPizza?! I've never heard of that! I worked at Mcdonald's in Harlem, in the early 90's.
20 years ago, I vacationed in Japan. Out of curiosity I sent to a McDonald to see how different the menu might be. The only difference I found as instead of chicken nuggets this Japanese McD served fish nuggets
McDonalds Pizza was one of the few things from her childhood that my mother fondly remembers lol
I miss the Buttermilk Chicken Tenders
I really miss McPizza! It was so tasty!! I also miss the original fries!
McPizza and the original fries were absolute classics!
I really miss the Fish Deluxe sandwich which came out during the Arch Deluxe phase. I like the Filet o Fish sandwich but I wish there was something like a Filet o Fish Deluxe which adds lettuce and tomato. The store already has lettuce and tomato.
I miss the homestyle burger (or Texas homestyle burger, depending on your location). Those were soooo good.
I forgot about the Big N Tasty. I used to order that one all the time. I wish they kept it and just made it a meal. I also miss the chicken wraps.
I worked at a McDonald’s around the time The McDLT was introduced. It was a pain in the butt for the kitchen to put it together.
The Salads. Oh I would love one those Chicken ceasar salads
Idk if McDonald's still has this item but one of my favorite breakfast items they had was the Steak and Egg and Cheese Bagel.
In the UK all the best fish and chip shops still fry in beef tallow (dripping, as we call it). It’s sooo much better.
The McDonald’s park playground, the nostalgic 🥔 sign on my favorite French fries, Coca Cola and their olds parks and old toys
I want the McPizza back! I remember loving these as a kid, we always got the personal sized ones. Last place I knew to sell them was a McDonald's in Union, NJ. How depressed I was when that ended.
I remember them switching out the beef tallow because they were not vegetarian. More than a few people were surprised they weren't.
I still wish I could try most of these 😓
Fun fact on the Shakin' Flavor Fries: It's still available here in the Philippines under the name Shake Shake Fries and is a permanent item on the menu. Just like those McSpaghettis.
They were using the wrong onions in the onion nuggets. The breading was great but it was like biting into battered onion slime because the onions broke down too much during the deep frying process. They basically wanted something to do with the leftover diced onions that didn't get used on burgers and the onion nugget was the regrettable result. Nobody I knew bought them more than once and I distinctly remember that not even the seagulls would eat them! They tried to reinvent the onion ring and failed.🤮😃
We still have the fried apple pies here in the UK, not in certain locations, ALL of them, they even do special versions of them too, like chocolate pies. White chocolate and raspberry pies too
I loved those cookies.
Changing from beef tallow to vegetable oil is what made me turn my back on McDonald's. I've eaten there a handful of times since and I never order any fries. It just wouldn't be the same.
So no one remembers the cinna melts?? Man I used to be a fiend for those
The Big n' Tasty, original fried pies, stroopwaffel McFlurry and Salad Shakers!
Also they need to bring back the Big breakfast burritos.
If you want a fried apple pie, Checkers/Rallys have fried apple pies coated in cinnamon sugar
I really liked the big n tasty and angus burgers. Also snack wraps
The Big N Tasty, the Angus Third Pounders, and the Arch Deluxe are what I miss the most. The snack wraps and salad shakers were genius too.
what's hilarious is the 1/3 pound burger didn't catch on because Americans are too dumb and think 1/4 is larger than 1/3......
The item. I remember and want to back. Is the Peter flatbread sandwich to promote the Lilo & Stitch movie? At mcdonald's
Oh, lordy, I forgot about onion nuggets. I LOVED those.
Oh Arch Deluxe and salads(as a whole), how i miss you!
In Indiana, somewhere between 2003-2005 we had the McBratwurst for a "flavor or the month" it was pretty good
