  • I am beyond grateful and humbled to be included on the video. The creativity throughout is astounding to me. There are times that life can feel so difficult and bleak, and then I see what wonderful things are being created by people all around me and I think "you know, we might all be alright in the end".

    • Agree! I always thought the spirit of the contest was stripped down versions of songs. Last years winner had a well produced video with a professional mix. Not very homemade at all. Regardless it is a great opportunity and I love watching and listening to the submissions.

    • Music is so subjective. What you consider supreme quality might not be the same for another person. And how will we discover new talent if we only listen to the people who already do this for a living? I'm personally glad it's open to everyone. I love watching all the different musicians - of all abilities - sharing their art!

  • While some wonderful artists and songs were featured, I'm dismayed that at least one entry from each of the states and eligible territories wasn't featured. For example, of the 125 (+/-) entries shown, none from Alabama or Alaska, however, there were 26 from California (~20%). Come on NPR, I know you can do better.
