In this video you can learn how to make wooden dowels in easiest way. Large wooden dowels can take much time to make but with this method large wooden dowels can be made very quickly. I found this method quick and easy to make any large size of wooden dowel.
This is genius!! I've watched quite a few of these now and while they are ll great, this one uses nothing but cheap hardware store parts and a drill.. GENIUS!
Nice job! There are video's on YT that show you how to make a jig that'll make multiple size dowels with just the jig and your tablesaw. Some even include sanders to sand your dowel while it's being made.
very good idea. A little improvement : try to make an angle on longitudinal ribs to make it cut better, like a drill bit. I think you will get better surface finishing.
Sorry for replying on your order comment on older video but will this work for 3/8th dowels?

Если ещё добавить несколько простых направляющих после прохождения проточки...,что бы заготовка не отклонялась, то получится ещё точнее и проще.
Зуб заточил не с той стороны.Поэтому и сколы на изделии.

Wouldn't it be easier just chop off the bases of a cheap hole saw set for about £20. You would have about 10 different sizes to use as well
Good idea. The issue is you get what you pay for. A cheap hole saw would work for a couple of sort softwood dowels. Then be too dull and start to burn the wood…no-one has the time to sharpen it between uses. Using (otherwise scrap sized) iron pipe will it’s thicker walls will last, be able to take the wear of hardwoods and be much easier to sharpen and maintain as needed. Great video.
No. The wider the teeth the better.
A hole saw should be a hardened tool steel as well - that’s a good idea. It would require a lot less sharpening than iron pipe, which doesn’t really hold an edge.
@@MD-en3zm just found a 10 piece carbon steel hole saw set at tool station for £ 7. 13 This would cut wood doweling for years without sharpening

Такая конструкция обычно первой приходит в голову. Когда я первый раз делал станок для круглых палок, делал похоже, только ножа было два. Но потом оказалось, что лучше всего работают конструкции, где медленное, с произвольной скоростью, можно даже от руки, вращается заготовка и быстро вращается режущий инструмент, стачивающий выступающие места. Например, болгарка с пильным диском или фрезер и т.д.. Потому что режущий инструмент сбалансирован, значит нет вибрации, и срезает материал любой твёрдости, значит поверхность получается точнее и более чистой. Ведь заготовки часто не имеют идеальной формы и имеют сучки и прочие изъяны.
At the end of the day the cutter is just hot rolled mild steel and not likely to hold a cutting edge for very long before it starts to tear out wood like the two tear outs in the third dowel A wooden dowel.cutter with a single tool steel cutter set at an angle like hand pencil sharpener makes smoother dowels as does a dowel tube type cutter . Or a dowel plate

If you fix two stands after the cutter to just hold the rod so that the woods turning would be restricted to turning only not playing it would have cleaner round rod would have been.

Dowels this size and larger can be made by basic spindle turning on a lathe ,and have a smoother finish with minimal.sanding
But how many peopple have lathe machine in their workshop.
@@Micro_Trader dowels can also be made , using the Bodbers trade tools of side axe , draw knife and spoke shave , and spring pole lathe

El único inconveniente es que no queda totalmente recto ya que el taladro no esta fijo y esta expuesto al movimiento del cuerpo. Ese sistema solo serviria para empotrar trozos en la pared para poder atornillar tornillo que se requieran para apoyarse alguna repisa, cables, etc.
Obviamente es un procedimiento que nos entrega la solución de una manera ingeniosa y sencilla. Si quieres perfección, no te queda otra que usar un torno, pero ¿¿¿cuánto cuesta uno??? 🤷♂

@@pomztoybox6877 You are right. I'm 68 now and i never used gloves. Not comfortable, not precise handling and difficult to find the right size for me (large hands). And i worked with 2500 w grinder and with welding machine and i still have my 10 fingers and still work the same way. Some people want to work without injury or make war without dying, that's the same way to think, in my opinion.

A dowel needs a hole. what size bit will make a snug hole the same size as the inside of that nipple?

На входе поставить отверствие круглое в которое входит квадрат , на вьіходе поставить отверствие в которое входит обработаньій квадрат , так качество обработки будет вьіше и вместо ключа торцевого изготовить квадрат , тогда отпадают дополнительньіе подготовительньіе работьі и еще если фрезу изготовить с соответствуещей стали , тогда фрезу можно закалить . Удачи !
