This OEM Style Dashcam from FitCamX comes with 3840x2160 UHD resolution and records video at 30 FPS.
The Dashcam is seamlessly integrated into the RAV4. It gets installed in place of the plastic cover located on the windshield.
The installation is plug-and-play. The camera gets connected to the existing connector in the vehicle. It uses one short wire. There is no need to install long wires.

any updates in the performance after a year? any noticeable glitches? i have a 2023 rav4 prime xse and i'm considering this and the OEM version which is about $125 more expensive. this is more slightly integrated than the OEM which would be installed to the side rather than centered.
So far no issues. It works like it should.
Do you have to format the SD card...and if so how? Does the camera do that? How long are the video clips and are there options for various lengths?
Yes, you need to format SD card before the first use. You can also format the SD card once per month to prolong its life span. You can format the card in the settings of the Fitcamx app. The length of video clips is one minute. In case of this dashcam you can't change it.

Is there a model that will fit a 2017 Toyota Corolla? I like how easy it is to just plug and play, but I cannot find one like this for my vehicle model.

I bought this and installed it a couple days ago and one observation is that it gets noticeably hot. Especially the SD card slot. Almost too hot to touch for more than 10 seconds. Is yours like this?
It does get hot. But I would not say that it gets extremely hot. So far there are no issues with the dash cam.
Thank you for sharing. Just ordered one for my Corolla. You say that you "wish Toyota would integrate these." Isn't there a non-compete clause or something that prevents carmakers from doing this? It's a bit ridiculous. It's like telling airlines they can't put in black boxes due to a non-compete clause.

Hi, I was hoping you could help me. I'm trying to install fitxcam x front facing camera only. I have a rear camera in my Toyota r4 2019. My mirror assembly has something to the right of it, and it will not simply push down. The rear view mirror is digital and came with the Rav 4 limited edition. Are you able to comment on that?
Hi, thank you for your question. Unfortunately we have not tried to install the Fitcamx in the RAV4 with OEM digital rear view mirror. I am pretty sure there should be a way to remove the cover but it is hard to tell without looking at it.

Are there any other time loop options? 1 min seems really short. 5-10 minutes seems more realistic.
This one only has 1 minute option.

It always records the video. The app is only used to view the recorded videos, download them to your phone, configure settings or view live feed from the camera.
What is approximate file size for 1 min video for resolutions 4K and 2K ?
The 4K is about 250mb for one minute file.
Is there a removable SD Card slot so you can just take the card to a computer and download the footage?
Yes, there is. On the right side of the dash cam. It is easily removable.
Does this affect the computer systems in place like the lane assist, adaptive spacing cruise control, etc

Yes, the original SD card was used in this case. We did not have any issues.

They have options on amazon, trims and year are included in the description. I think they have two types for the rav4, the one with vent and without.
Would this work on a 2018 Rav4?
We have not tried, but I don't think it will. Besides that the box most likely won't fit.

Does this cam stay on to record even when the car is shut off?
No, it does not. It shuts down as soon as you turn off the power.

It's awesome that they made a custom housing for it, but the recorded video quality is awful and much worse than the Viofo cams I've used. I've seen several samples of FitCamX videos on different KZhead channels, all of them have awful video quality. Real shame because I'd gladly use that if the quality was actually good.

I've heard horror stories with this camera. Like it stops working after a month. or it stops recording when the sd card is full even though it was set to auto loop. overheating issues as well. I would be hesitant to buy it until more reviews come in. It is great however on how stealth it is.

The 4K is not real, it is interpolated.
WARNING! This is a scam product. The "dashcam" doesn't record for more than three minutes, no matter what SD card and power options are being used.
This is not a scam. We installed a few of these cameras in different vehicles and they all are working fine. Your unit could be defective. If this is the case, you need to return it.

Our Fitcamx dashcam works fine. No issues so far.

It does, but you need an extra hardwiring cable in order to activate the parking mode.
