Conan was super intimidated by 16-year-old Billie after watching her documentary, "The World's a Little Blurry." Plus, Billie and FINNEAS ask Conan's staff if he's secretly an asshole.

  • I get teenage Billie, I was similar. It's how we survived. I love that about her. Of course I don't need that anymore, and it seems Billie doesn't either. Not sure I would apologize for it tho. It was a defense mechanism that protected me at the time.

    @cdow9032@cdow9032 Жыл бұрын
    • I feel like I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I guess I had a lot of anger around and directed at me as a teenager and that made me terrified. Thinking back to it makes me sick to my stomach because I wish I had allowed myself to feel angry instead of scared or guilty, I feel like I owe myself an apology for not being a little angrier. A little rage can be healthy.

    • I know lots of people with unhealthy defense mechanisms that ruined otherwise perfectly fine relationships with their family and friends. Not saying that you're at fault or should apologize or whatever. But almost every time I come across someone like that, they never actually dropped that defense mechanism and they still jump at the opportunity to pull it out if they feel threatened. And it isn't healthy, no matter the age. It's a shame that you and everyone else is a product of their environment and their upbringing because building those defense mechanisms isn't your fault. Just bad parenting.

Conan is still the king! He got better with age and more freedom to be himself beyond the shackles of NBC. His podcast is so damn funny too and it opened him up to be himself fully. Billie Eilish gets the rewards and fame but she wouldn't deny that they are really a double act. She has qualities he doesn't have, the 'look' (incredibly important in the music industry these days) and the voice. He has the musicianship and creativity (not saying that there's no crossover in these qualities between them).

  • Music is so weird. Moreso than any other kind of video, when Conan interviews musicans there are more devisive comments than if he was interviewing a politician. And everyone can immediately tell what you feel about certain musicians or really certain genres based on the comments. Im willing to bet that most of the people with negative comments have never even bothered to listen to their music and just like the idea of hating "pop" music or anything the kids are into. I was one of those guys who only listened to 90s music for a long time but Billie and Adele both woke me up to the fact that theres actually some suprisingly great song writing and performances happening in pop music right now. 🤷 And I still remember the 90s.... I remember that despite all of the great music coming out, the radio stations still had Michael Bolton, Kenny G, and Bryan Adams on heavy rotation.

    • I’m 21 right now and only 5 years ago I was 16. Yeah, it’s not a big time gap but it is a big mental gap. I acted completely different when I was 16 compared to now. And that’s what Billie is trying to say. The maturity of a 16 year old compared to a 21 year old is pretty different (especially in women). I’m not saying that at 21 your the most mature you’ll ever be, but your definitely more mature than you were at 16.
