I believe as a public content creator, you should first educate urself. Ur in a Chinese branch restaurant and calling it Vietnamese hotpot. So maybe I can call a Chinese fen when I am at a Vietnamese pho restaurant in China. I understand how Asian culture and food looks similar to you, but at least do some research before you open your mouth. I have been watched ur videos and this one caught my attention. When you later compare your videos with other travelers, or next time when you eat a real hot pot, you will find out how stupid ur.btw, please stay in Vietnam and US and don’t go traveling other places. U can turn everything into Vietnamese, my simple empty brain American friend.

I used to think that traveling and making videos would be easy but after traveling to Europe for my honeymoon for a week I realize that it is a much harder job than what it’s made out to be. Thank you Sonny and team for always making such great videos and content! Y’all are truly an inspiration and I’m so happy I happened upon your videos years ago because they’ve given me unlimited happiness and entertainment!

You, Mike and Mark make it seem so easy to eat that much.. And i actually thought i could do that too, took my boyfriend to an unlimited sushi/ gyoza buffet yesterday.. We could only eat around 10 sushi and 2 gyoza each 😅 and i ended up with a terrible tummy ache right after cause i tried to eat too much 😭 i hope one day i can have the appetite to at much more.. There's so many delicious dishes out there
sushi is hard cuz of the amount of rice and yeah i agree, i have no idea how they and competitive eaters eat so much
@@mingrat8866 specifically for competitive eating, its stomach expansion. Usually the day before, competitors would drink a lot of water, or eat something with high water content (e.g water melon) to expand their stomach a day in advance. The stomach has the ability to enlarge itself temporarily, which competitors use to be able to down more food.

He doesn't actually eat that much if you watch his behind the scenes interview... he often spits stuff out, or the crew helps him quite a bit. Keep in mind Sonny used to be obese, so it's in his best interest not to gorge himself all over the world.

dear its not Vietnam hot pot its chinese hot pot,as you can see there are chinese everywhere，This is a chain store.this shop is run by Vietnam ppl and is placed km Vietnam though.wish one day you could visit china and taste chinese hot pot😘
I like that they show you how to mix up your own sauce combinations. I've always wanted to try something like that, but I feel kind of silly about the sauce (and I also wonder how people know how long to cook each item, assuming it's not instant as it is with thinly sliced beef for example).
You can always be experimental with the sauces. My fav is a combo of chilly oil, fresh garlic, fresh cilantro, soy sauce, and roasted sesame sauce. In terms of time to cook each item, it really depends. A general rule of thumb if you have potatoes or taro, they go into the broth first and will stay there for a while to really soak up the flavours. Veggies and mushrooms are very quick to cook. Bokchoy and some leafy veggies may take a 30-second blanch at most, while mushroom takes a few minutes. Most meat items are cut thinly and shouldn't take more than a few minutes to cook.

13:00 I ordered the same thing in Saigon like 2 months ago in a restaurant without English menu. We used just a google translator thinking it was a bone marrow with eggs. In fact, the thing is beef spinal cord and it was delicious, kind of like a brain, but more delicate

thanks you for sharing your mothers recipe for being so kind I'll share recipe from my grandmother as written on a card from her tin box add cabbage and onions to hot bacon grease add salt black pepper and fresh garlic mix is your cooked ham and chicken aunduie sausage make sure to add plenty of cabbage and onions its simple and delicious I'm aware she misspelled some thing but I gave you what's on the card feel free to change it up it was something she use to make on new year's so for authenticity use a spiral ham a good Virginia one other than that hope you make it and enjoy

i love your videos, eating and documenting various kind of foods all over the world considered weird or bad in many religions and countries. But as you were living in vietnam for a long time, i expected you would make a video on dog dishes as it is legal and quiet common in vietnaam. Its ok if would not like to eat it, but it will be nice to make a video on market and restaurants serving dog meat.
he probably doesn't because that would get demonetized or taken off of youtube almost immediately. people would freak tf out if he went to a restaurant where dog was served and especially if he ate dog, to put it lightly.
