nice
Make a city in the sky (if that's even possible)
💀
Remember, Right is right, the Roads start with a R for a Reason, Rce, you Really should build your Reputation Rather than your Rules… idk?
Using only water/poop power (like timberborn) to make a city. IE no advanced technology (pre 1950s)
Whenever Matt says he is going “off grid” for road design, you know it’s going to be the strongest shape
It is very European.
Guess it already, just waiting for when he shows it and yep, there it is 😂
It took me far too long for me to figure out what he was building
@@clssgn ye i didnt pay much attention to what he was saying and then BOOM
when he first zoomed out to build the clinic I inhaled my drink
Finally the devs allow Matt to break their game in brand new ways!
about time
💀💀💀💀💀
It's not CS until Matt says "poo"
And they even paid him to do so😂
That’s why they never gave it to him whilst they were still polishing the game. They didn’t want Matt in their discord every 5 minutes screaming that he’d broken something that every single normal player wouldn’t even think to do 🤣🤣
wow this game is so realistic, just standing in the rain doing nothing such a finnish thing to do (only a drink was missing)
The finnish flag is because the game is made in finland
@@juliusmcankka😊😊😊oooo
Im finnish and this is true.
Yeah, just Karhu is missing
Paradox: "We should sponsor an episode of CSL2 with RCE!" Matt, 20 seconds in: "PWHOAR look at that road layout does anyone else see that?" Paradox: "... Ah."
But he still hasn't gotten a sponsorship from viagra.
9:21 too 😭
"Let's mirror the coastline." The architect said calmly.
Only people who get the Harry Potter reference can like this comment.
I can't believe it took me 9 whole minutes to notice the strongest shape.
me too
right at 3:45 ish I knew it was a tip 😆and then even tho it was zoomed in I knew they were veiny roads and it just confirmed he was gonna go for what we all are here for ! yay for these kind of jokes !
Im not an engineer, but I belief him, when he says it’s efficient! ;)
When he zoomed out I gasped 😂😂😂😂😂😂
same lol
I think it's time to compare the water physics of city skylines 2 vs city skylines 1
Paradox: we'd love to sponsor a video :) Matt: what's your knob policy???
20:42 One tile. Nine tiles. Matt is counting like an architect.
Nah, you start with 9 tiles now unlocked, as they're generally a lot smaller, but cheaper. So to Matt, he was given 1 tile that is subdivided into 9 tiles based on the tiles around it.
One tile. = nine characters (uncluding full stop and space) therefore one tile. = nine tiles
Fun fact: you can expand certain buildings such as the highschool for more capacity or add a sport field! Just click on the building and you’ll see it
That’s cool, like the awesome sim city (2013) 😊
Man I love Sim city creator on my ds, I still occasionally play it. So much fun with it as a kid especially 🥹
I’m shocked at how quickly he was able to erect all those buildings. What a strong city!
💀
pun intended
12:33 "Jaksu" is a synonym of "energy" in finnish! Brilliant one, devs!
Im finnish and i have never heard the word "jasku".
@@justaguy1228 jaksu
@@justaguy1228 jos joku jaksaa, niin sillä on jaksua
Jaxuhalit😂
@@Jantzku joo
Matt: wants to fill in extra space with more houses* Also Matt: throws shade at America’s gridded city layout
The Finland references are because of the developers of CS1 and CS2 are located in Finland
Nah they're swedish, paradox studios are the makers of CS1 and CS2 and are based in sweden
@@jarvor_Paradox Interactive is the publisher, not the developer. Colossal Order is based in Finland.
@@jarvor_paradox is the publisher, colossal order is the maker
9:21 I don't know why I thought he was just drawing random shapes in the beginning. I've been watching this channel long enough to know better so this shouldn't be a surprise anymore but yet it still sometimes catches me by off guard. I guess that's the real reason that the strongest shape will forever rein supreme!
Luckily he didn’t Cock’it up and his roads had great medical coverage
You can really see the lag! That's what I'm scared for!
It just got released. It'll get optimized.
@@jonathancarney4994 It's not released until the 24th. Its just preorder rn. Though yeah, nothings optimized on release anymore. Its an unrealistic expectation of a competitive market and impatient gamers. lol
Paradox already stated that it's performance is still suck but in the future it will be optimized and mod features will be coming
@@vembriarta471 they just ploped assets without any optimization it seems
@@jonathancarney4994 Yeah I dont know about that one haha, these are hard coded issues...
Ignored all other KZheadrs playing CS II until Matt got to play it. Worth the wait. I love Matt’s reactions each time his city levels up.
Matt - curious about this game, particularly if they've enhanced water physics at all. Would like to build things like streams, irrigation ditches, or small drainage channels, something that didn't work really well at that much smaller scale with Cities: Skylines.
So how are sewer lines designed when there are curved roads everywhere? In my irl city, nearly half the roads are curvy-wurvy
I saw you can buy tiles even if there not connected to another one what if you tried doing a city that was checkered style only buying tiles diagonally and none next to eachother?
As a civil engineer, im mainly here for the architecture shade 🤣🤣🤣 very entertaining commentary to a very interesting game!
In Germany we have a very stupid dad joke in the official naming of these bridges to nowhere: They're called a "Soda-Brücken"/"soda bridges". But Soda is not only meaning sparkling water, but you can write it "so da": "Just there". A very stupid dad joke on a nationwide level.
10:05 Finland mentioned!!1!1!1!! Suomi mainittu perkele!!!
First thing Matt does on a city building game: build a bridge
That's actually the second thing...
The first is opening the game
Im so excited to watch every single cs2 video from matt im literally just watching my pc be wasted until this game comes out
We do be getting the part 2s to all the old videos 🔥
My friend and I rate bridges IRL because it started as a joke and got out of hand in the best way possible. At least according to us. That bridge review made me so damn happy
It's very nice and enjoyable to see you get so happy and excited for a game and finally getting to play it!! I'm definitely looking forward for more !
As a Finnish person seeing all those proud Finns waving the flag, I must say SUOMI MAINITTU! Torilla tavataan PERKELE!!!!
PERRKELE
as a Swed this is realy nice to see
The TTP on this video was longer than I was expecting...I mean we knew what all those roads were going to be, but almost 10 minutes before the full Monty was impressively restrained for Matt.
The rapid water near the prison could be a good spot for a hydroelectric power plant. Just stick a dam in there. The awkward small useless pieces of land between the private houses could have giant wind propellers. And you could set up subway trains and put the largest roads into tunnels too. That would save enough room to add some large malls and what not.
You know its a better game when you can build finland accidentally
Colossal Order are Finnish Matt. You are always building Finland when playing their game
Can't wait to pick this up at some point. Hopefully the devs actually manage to sort out the admitted performance issues they plan to release with by then.
Can't wait for Engitopia 2
Engitwopia
He actually did it, got CS2. Still wish they made RCE play it while lifted up by a crane
At first I was like what is this guy talking about counter strike 2, but I agree that would have been epic
your positivity and enthusiasm are absolutely wonderful!! "the bridge is threatening me" i almost rolled of my couch lauging🤣
YES, YES, YESSS!!! I LIKED WATCHING THE GAME FROM KZheadRS I KNOW, BUT NONE OF THEM ACTUALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A LONG-TERM FUNCTIONAL CITY AND IT WAS SO SKSKDJDJSKSKSK So, thank you. Your knowledge is invaluably appreciated.
can hear the « xmas has come early » tone in your voice, and it makes me happy 😂
9:21 such a intriguing design I will take notes boss!
Looking forward to more Cities: Skylines 2 content!
HE FINALLY GOT IT!
yes
4 days before the official release....
SO excited to see new cities and myth busting! RCE, is it possible to turn that motion blur off? Looks like it might be bringing down your framerate, and makes me feel queasy. lol
The motion blur is bad, but the framerate looks bad because it probably is, game can run bad even on 3090s
@@CanonOverseer its not gpu heavy game.... it can run on like gtx 570... its super cpu heavy, and will start lagging even with the best consumer cpu's quite fast
nice one matt, pat on the back. he is drawing out the first lines of his road network and you know: he is going to do it, again, and i love it 🤣🤣
petition for real civil engineer to change his name to real civil architect on aprils fools
Matt with mini motorway roundabouts: 😠 Matt with City skylines roundabouts:😮👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍
Finland mentioned 🇫🇮💪🏻 Hope they have saunas there.
I love the the beginning of what I think will be a great game. Even if it will be perhaps costly with dlc. But my one wish that I used to think a CS sequel would bring would be that individual plots would connect despite curved roads. Fences could line up at whatever angle is needed. Their could be certain things like gardens/pools that always line up with the back of the house. Trees/garden sheds etc could connect to a back or side fence line. Then the grass yard texture could fill to fit the rest of the property within its fence line no matter the size or shape. More larger buildings and commercial/industrial could be fine with just adding more concrete ground textures in the blank spaces. There might be more games but I remember playing the Manor Lords demo and seeing that they did something like this for the little house plots and I was thinking the next Cities game would do this. But I’m back to filling in as many trees as I can in between houses to disguise the empty spots.
1:06 That is a very tight roundabout. Normally they have broad angles so traffic can flow more freely and semi trucks can make it around.
Also COME ON DEVS MAKE IT AVAILABLE FOR MAC I'LL GET THE $90 VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sequel we all need
What does it do thats new? I cant tell ...looks like a sequel wasnt needed at all!
11:49 thats a really interestinng shape you've got your city in xD
One thing im actually hoping for is that the Devs will include nice tools for Road Management. Cant wait to play this
Ive been waiting for this since cities skylines 2 was announced
Maybe after this we can get another poo-cano Or maybe an even bigger map that Matt would have to constantly keep on top of problems. It could be a test for how good his management skills are
I've been waiting for this one :)
Soon as RCE didn’t make a knob with the roads straight away especially after all the set up about curved roads I realised the Devs obviously made a deal, we will sponsor you but no knobs on the first play through!! EDIT-- he just zoomed out…. Devs obviously were slipping when negotiating the sponsorship
Really looking forward to the cities skylines 2 videos.
I am so excited for Matt's Cities Skylines II videos!!
Obviously you build Finland! Brilliant country, not biased at all.
Yes he finally got city skylines 2! can't wait for Paddy 2.
The fact that you got this game early means you are an architect, architects designs things long before engineers get their hands on the product. from this point on i shall refer to Matt as the RealCivilArchitect(RCA), i may need to update some scores on Poly Bridge 3 as a result...
Love to see the strong shapes have come to the new game 😂
This game seems amazing so far but i’m hoping they optimize it a little more
This has been long overdue. I’m so excited that the devs finally gave Matt early access!
Considering the high pollution, bad healthcare and education, and the fact that it's a small gray city with a river flanked by tall mountains, this place reminds me a LOT of Santiago de Chile.
9:21 oh. RCE: Plays any game for the first time RCE seconds later: funny shape haha
cant wait for the shenanigans youll make in this game! ✨
us tradesmen (master plumber and pipe fitter) talk just as much shit about engineers as architects, you should have to build what you draw, also great video !
Can't wait to see more Cities Skylines 2 :D
I love watching RCE’s videos, especially the city builders. I have to comment on the “30% is nothin’” line though. That’s a lot of taxes.
I'm defiantly excited to see a Cities Skylines 2 engitopia!
I think there mmmmiiight be something off about the economics in this game :D We have 6000 residents, but a highschool, college and uni and a giant prison, but still making a positive income 🤣
9:40 there are places that allow you to reserve your spot and put in a headstone ahead of time. I've seen many that says "[Name] 19xx - (blank)". A bit grim if you ask me.
So glad you got a copy at last and the devs saw sense but where the hell is the scaffolding going up then unravelling to reveal a new building? Gutted that's not there, one of the best things in a city builder is a new building being revealed in that way.
7:59 Yes, there will be steam. Another half-realism of the game, you don't burn coal and collect the electrical output from it with grid plates, you burn coal to turn water into steam to drive turbines connected to generators. Coal plants should require lots of water. CS2 looks nice though, I will check it out... after I've finished InfraSpace :)
As a British I declare the cul-de-sacs not just sufficient but excellent ; British stamp of approval 👍
As a Finnish person, i wasn't expecting that Finnish flag :D Edit: Finnish flagS* :D
Paradox: alright matt we'll give you city skylines 2. Matt: Thanks i love you guys! *less then 30 secs into game* Matt: DONG ROAD
15:05 as a non-uk-ian when i visited the uk and drove on your highways it's insane to me how you have traffic lights and roundabouts in the middle of highways, that's literally the most insane thing ever.
So happy to see CS2!!
Glad to see they included you for once
One of the things that irriated me about Cities Skylines on the Oculus Quest was that you only get one or two blocks (can't remember which), but you can't buy more. While it is awsome to see your city in VR, the problem is, I've used pretty much every centimetre of the blocks I have, apart from a bit that is occupied by a sheer rock face that I can't get rid of, or use. I haven't played Skylines 2 much yet, but will be doing so.
City Beautiful has recently talked about the efficiency of Hexagonal City Layouts on his youtube channel. Since you have tested another couple of layouts already I think it would be really cool if you could test that as well👀💪🏽
I wasn’t even watching this initially I was elbow deep in another video and my app closes and I reopen it to this gift from the engineer gods
5:15 Imagine a Cities Skylines 2 Online Multiplayer, where you all have your own grids, and you can connect a bridge or highway to another player's city.
"Our prison is in, so now it is truly an engineering paradise as we have a place to put all the architects" XD made me laugh
Honestly, everyone else has built grids (even if they're rhombusic they're still a grid) so seeing some curves is quite refreshing BUT YOU ALL MAKE 5 WAY INTERSECTION ROUNDABOUTS WHYYYY
8:51 "Let's hope the trains don't open their windows" Well, that's very ironic, because we have in my area a "garbage train." They literally transport garbage on the train. And they love to park it overnight in the residential neighborhood.
Glad to see the CS 2 cars still drive like absolute maniacs (sarcasm). At least they got rid of pocket cars. Those were maddening
That moment you get to see the shape of city wile listening to some serious talking like nothing is going on! XD
I cannot wait to see all the new hi-rez dongs our boy Matt builds in CSII
Matt is filled with the glee of a kid in a candy shop. :D
3:34 in Australia theres always small roads that just come off the 4 lane road to like a one way because theres cars on the side so we give way so basically comes off from like 70kph (45 mph) to 50kph idk why the tiny squashed roads have a limit of 50kph(30mph) probably cuz an architect made it
14:57 even the signature building is repping Finland lol
Finally, now we can see the greatest archi...... Engineer in CS2
Matt do a giveaway and buy this game as a prize for it! That would be so amazing. Damn skylines 2 looks so good, I wish I could actually afford to buy it but I guess skylines 1 will have to do
After watching the whole video, i can say that cities skylines electric boogaloo is for sure a game
This game looks incredible! I NEED IT
9:21 🤌 highly efficient city plan
