  • ❤ stunning craftsmanship. I also think staining or just oiling would be prettier, but its gorgeous either way. I personally like the look of "painting" with stain so that it has the feel of multiple colours but you still see the grain through.

  • Lovely carving! Thanks for sharing🙂. You inspire me to "have a go soon" at those horses for the Stagecoach. I am going to use Cherry as apparently, a nice wood to carve with. The color will be nice. Your opinion would help. I see you have your horse hooves anchored to the wood. I am thinking of doing the same but afterward removing the hooves all from the wood and then having pins come up from a false bottom into the hooves. This will then create the same common ground as the Stagecoach. Hopefully with not too much effort. Sharp tools are a must and what a lovely sound your chisel made slicing through wood. Gives one the feeling to carve.

  • No Dremel, no grinders, just a sharp edge on Lime wood and 10,000 hours of practice; this is real carving.

    • because you use power tools doesn't mean you're fake carving lmfao it's still carving since you literally make dents and take off material. Its faster and generally more convenient all across the board with "dremels and grinders" except for details maybe where you'd need to be softer with hand tools. If anything it's objectively better to spend less time for a similar finish cause you can make more and make more progress, evolve. Taking that 10k hours to practice hand skills is more about passion than productivity imo anyway

    • Спасибо. Лошади очень красивые животные, хотелось бы сделать работу больших размеров, но к сожалению очень трудно найти хорошее дерево больших размеров, а клеенное дерево в таких работах плохо смотрится.

  • It looked very much like a Fresian before it was painted. They are solid black. But still amazing work! I’m sure it isn’t easy carving the inner parts as well. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
