He did the right thing not bringing the girl from the other family, as sad as it is. The wouldn't have let her onto the plane. This is legit scary though because it can happen.
It was a very very very hard and heart shattering choice to make, he couldn't take her, even if he wanted to, of course, he wanted to take her to save her life, but he couldn't take her, because the military would have turned her away, can't these people read, is he the only one who actually read that?, didn't those people see on the television screen - (No One Else Is Allowed With You, There Are No Exceptions), as emotionally painful, heartbreaking, and traumatizing as it was to think about that, he has a point, It is hard and brutal to have to leave your neighbors and friends behind like that, it is unbearable psychological and emotional pain to have them accept their fate like that, that really is extremely heartbreaking - That Is Going To Hit You Really Hard In Your Heart And In Your Chest.
True! Didn’t that mother read the message on the tv clearly?
@@alexwilson9886 the mother was desperate. The military would have definitely turned the girl away, and then she would have died alone by herself. They made the right move by not taking her.
@@sdaftermath123 Yea, he was right to turn her away but they did not get to the plane either so theoretically the girk could survive comming with them.

The scene that really broke my heart was when the family was flying out on the last plane and you can see the countless cars coming
Didn't notice it, will definitely watch it again now that you mentioned it
I hate thinking about that scene because you just can’t help but think, “what if that was me?”
The birds flying away from the blast and him not taking the girl was very realistic. I just watched this film on the plane. I was struck by how the other parents wanted to give the daughter to him instead of finding their own solution regardless of how futile.
Because it was just that. Futile. The parents instincts kick in to keep their child safe. Even if it means dooming them. I mean might as well try and if that doesnt work try to find shelter somewhere yourself.
What solution🤔
@@killasam1951 Best not to respond to someone who's clearly ignorant on parental instincts. She has no kids clearly so she wouldn't understand that the effort the mom gave to give her child away to safety was her being the best parent she can be. Putting her child's safety above her own.

I've seen and watched a lot of messed up stuff in my day but that scene with the girl and her mother ripped my heart out! Great acting on their part!
It took me back to the "I am legend" days and I was sobbing
I remember first seeing that and that actually got me tearin up.
I always cry when the mom begs for her daughter to be saved. Knowing that she and her family died, and feeling a mother's pain for not being able to save her daughter is heart wrenching. And the poor boy crying, unable to save his friend, so distressing.
The mom and her family have to get to a railway tunnel to save themselves.
this was a surprisingly incredible scene, probably my favorite in the entire film just because of how realistic the tension is between the father and the other families
Exactly! What I also liked is that it shows how someone can be your friend and neighbor and then become almost the opposite a few minutes later. It shows their true colors. Example: when John was talking with his neighbor about how John was doing (forgot his name) and then a few minutes later, he gets upset about John not knowing if the shelter relocation plan was real.
I'm gonna say why I liked this movie A LOT, like everybody else i've seen my fair share of "end of the world" movies but this one was just different to me. Just in this one scene you see he refuses to take the girls because she's gonna be left alone when they dont allow her in, such a good decision, its realistic he's not trying to play the hero or a "we'll figure it out there" situation, in the whole movie he's just trying to get his family safe but in a way that feels realistic no one does anything extraordinary, just really bad people and some really kind people, good and bad decisions, realistic situations like people partying in the middle of everything, riots, people doing the most to be safe I just feel its what it would actually happen lol
They focused on the family. They didn’t switch to some random city in China like in Armageddon. That’s why it was so much better than the others like this.
I actually really enjoyed this movie, year it's quite disturbing but it would be the reality if this was actually happening.

If they had let the girl at least to come along, she would of course gets rejected by the army. But then remembering how Garrity's family also rejected because of his son's condition, she could at least survive when they go to Greenland. But alas. This movie is awesome though!
There are 3000 to 4000 km aprox. between Greenland and Clarke's point of impact, and judjing by the satelite video from the ISS, the blast radius reached Greenland in a matter of seconds (even the voice off-screen says 1 minute 20 sec.). I don't think the girl would've survived outside the bunker.
There's no guarantee she would have even made it. The guy who kidnapped Nathan may have just decided to take off with her instead.
@@Godzillaman No, he wanted Nathan specifically because of his wristband. The girl wouldn't have had one. He would have left the girl with the mother, because she wouldn't be of any use to him. She would have survived, because the wristbands meant nothing in the end. The family didn't end up using theirs. They made their escape on a non-military plane. So if they had taken the girl with them, she would have survived, because she would have been with the mother the entire time and made it all the way to the bunker in Greenland.
@@Xylarxcode To be fair, there was no way of knowing that. We, the audience, obviously know how the whole thing went down. The family are only going by what they're being told and the logical thinking of the girl being turned away because of the no strap.

I really love how this dude is important enough for the government to beam a message to his TV telling him where to evacuate to, but they limit him to one bag. Like they’re going to turn him away if he brings two suitcases instead of one.
They would just make him choose a bag not just turn him away. Why would they turn him away for bringing two bags instead of just throwing one bag away? They might even make a exception if he had some important stuff in the bag that the goverment needed m.
This seems really realistic as this is what would happen only a few would be selected and you would literally see chosen few just driving away. Going to watch this now as seems a decent film.

@@babatundeii9275 yes spoil the film. Great one mate
You wouldn't see the chosen few. It's just easy to assume that you or someone you know will get picked which just isn't true. The odds of being picked for this is like 2/100. The odds of watching someone "go here or drive off to go there" are even more slim. You won't know who's going to a bunker and who isn't, it'll be mass chaos which will only lead to mass confusion and delirium.
