Friends, Do you want to convert your old petrol bike into Electric Bike?
Then according to me it is the best way of converting into E-Bike. To make this happen I have used a 48V 750W Brushless Motor with a similar controller. To power the system a 48V 30Ah Lithium-ion battery pack.
To get higher RPM I have removed the gearhead coupled with the motor and connected it with the engine crank shaft.
Thanks for watching. If you linked it then give it a thumps up and share...

An electric motorcycle with all functions working, using the most direct path and the least effort. Brilliant! This is your Mk I prototype and you got my respect.
Is gr8 an still rides like normal geared bike plus should be faster these way
This is India. Where nothing is impossible. Salute to you bro.
Except hygiene. ✌️😅
WHAT'S SPECIAL IN THIS, IT'S NORMAL, JUST FITTING, MAIN PART IS MOTOR AND BATTERY AND THAT IS MADE IN CHINA
That is absolutely revolutionary. Simplest way is always best, and a LOT of people are going to be building and converting vehicles to DC. They should all see this video!
@Jason loewenstein I agree completely with what you just said, I saw this and it was a lightbulb moment! , if it works for a single cylinder engine then it would work for a twin or 4 cylinder bike , and also for any car engine , quite simply this is better than most electric powered bikes and cars because it can use the vehicles gearing and also the major factor of being able to give a 2nd life to worn out combustion engine cars, bikes , anything else the entire world over , yes there are teething troubles to be ironed out but this guy to me just reinvented the wheel!
It’s also a LOT cheaper than any mass produced electric motorcycle or car !
this is a video that really makes me feel satisfied alone than other videos, welcome to the vrindavan server, friends
Brilliant idea well executed with only rudimentary tools, please ignore all the negative comments , well done !
I absolutely agree!
That's very true what you say, and its great to see practical ingenuity in action, something that has been completely forgetten here in theUK , but he flip side is that there are in the region of 50.000 deaths on motorcycles every year in India . .Yes, there are probably a million bikes on the road at any one time . .But there's no doubt life is cheap there, and the standard of all vehicles on their roads is shocking compared to Europe.
Well done
also ignore the extreme vibration and shuddering coming the block...
Correct
Everybody wants to say it's too small, or it's too weak, and it ain't gonna work but you did exactly that and good job!
Mike Kubat yes it is working but for how long
@@holmes1956O What's with you people ? It's called proof of concept, and he did that in spades.
Good job - looks like no problem with the extra weight of the crankshaft. Simple to do.
This is really clever. I question the longevity of the system, but props for being creative and working with what you have.
Love the precision drill and length of his arms while checking the gears 😂
Love you ican kno
Yuur namber please
This guy is definitely mechanically inclined I give him props for that! There is a couple of issues that have to be addressed to do this conversion...first by cutting off the connecting rod at the crank shift that would leave an in balance that will create heavy vibrations to the point where it will be the demise of the crank shaft bearings. Secondly the chain that used to drive the overhead cam it's not made to handle the torque that is being put into it by the electric motor...it will fail sooner than later! 🙏🏼
Perfect. The timer chain cannot be used for transmission. He could have connected the motor to the clutch basket wheel that is by default connected to the power output. Also it is basic procedure to tighten the bolts diagonally and this guy does not seem to know that.
kzhead.info/sun/aN2rkaWXfYCAeok/bejne.html
its just proof of concept
What about clutch plate which are working with out oil
@@sunnysangha8133 Vdd e a corrente tambem
This is brilliant. I would upgrade the crank shaft chain to something can handle the torque. Great job overall !
You did really good in making such things. I almost see your most of the videos. 👍
Thinking out the box, can't see the cam chain lasting too long but 10/10
Interesting idea. Maybe if you used a 2 stoke engine, although I suppose you could do the same on a 4 stroke, and used either a belt drive or heavier chain running to a pulley or sprocket where the magneto would normally be on the outside of the engine case preferably using a straight shaft instead of a crankshaft through the cases to the primary drive, or on the (Hodaka) motors I'm thinking of to the cutch that is mounted directly to the right hand end of the crankshaft. You could make the electric motor pivot for belt or chains adjustment on top of the cover plate where the barrel would normally mount, or make some other type of adjuster run against the belt or chain. And with a 2 stroke either put oil in the lower case area under the cover plate / motor mount to lubricate the lefthand case bearing or simply remove the seals from the right hand case bearing. A drive belt would save having to lubricate a chain and would be cleaner to operate. If there would be any advantage in the flywheels on the standard crankshaft you might use it, but the crank pin may be a weak link and you could twist it out of alignment, so you could mount a flywheel on a straight shaft between the crank cases or add one later if need be.
Wow, this guy blew my mind! Great idea. Built a masterpiece from recycled everything with the shortest, bent drill bit ever. "stay gold man"

In addition to what some of the other commenters have said, my thought would be how do you keep the crankshaft lubricated and the weather out of engine. The crankcase needs to have oil in it. The crankshaft and transmission all need to be lubricated. In addition to this as soon you get to the rainy season your engine is going fill up with water because you didn't seal it. That was a 48 volt motor and you're running 24 volts which means you're not using the motor to its full potential. This means it will run hot. Therefore it will wear out quicker. The power that you are putting into that small chain and cam gear is to much. The chain is not going to last long. The first time you have to put this under a hard load it is going to break. This is a driven chain not a drive chain. It's a good idea but you need to improve it. If you take the crankshaft out remove the gear that you are using with a stronger gear and then do the modifications to seal the crankcase and then go and buy smaller dry cell 12v batteries so you can use 4 for 48v then with the improvements that you have done will be able to improve what you have and it will be a decent little bike. Thank you for the video it was interesting and you have a good idea you just need to finish it. Best regards from Virginia USA
The best part Is you have preserved gearbox & clutch for smooth driving & optimization.
Yeah preserved with grinding dust 😆
Presenving Half conecting rod ...LOL
Motor oil?
What’s important here is the creativity! Amazing results comparing the resources used !
@@MrKasiaa30 it sure is creative, but not practical. it's less efficient because of the gearbox.
You opened my eyes, Partha. Thank you.
How can we contact you
Great effort and innovate idea to be appreciated. However by keeping the gear box as-is, this need to be maintained with oil change also vehicle weight increases. But great effort with minimum changes.. Kudos..
Good luck with that fan not causing cuts on your leg. You could have disassembled the piston assembly all together rather than cutting the piston. The battery could have comfortably fit in the tank section.. many more issues.. overall brilliant concept 👍
True, that was bugging me too the whole video.
I could have done same as you said, using the tabk as battery compartment
Many guys are converting the bikes to ebikes and they replaced the complete engine with the motor ,but the way you did it is owesume as with this approach a feel the gear shifting after the conversion is there ,which is owesume.
In that case they are just using the bike frame , lol
For me a great exercise in motor technique. You may have done some errors as somebody says, but you re a great diy man. Bravissimo.
Great design, well thought out and easy to do.
Wow! Impressive build. With fuel prices skyrocketing, this may well be the way we have to go. Excellent video.
We're going there because we have to stop burning fossil fuels.

I have allot of respect to those who want to modify their equipment over those that think that only buying it factory made is the best way.

I have a lot of respect for countries that still give you freedom to experiment. In my country you couldn't circulate with such a heavily modified vehicle...
I really want to modify mine but too scared😅incase I mess up somewhere, 2ndly I have zero knowledge on how to start😅
Excellent job. Retaining the alternator to generate power to charge the standard M/C battery to operate it's electrics, excellent idea. Like the idea of the elect motor running and then utilising the gears as well. Love to know it's speed (top end) and battery mileage. Well done.

Cool machine, drilling and massage!! I like it!!! Anyway nice project hope the distribution chain and lower sprocket can handel all that power... Very good build! Cool video.....
People like you need to be supported by any automotive company for R&D and promote this work
Well said ! I totally agree, sometimes people are naturally gifted mechanily minded and get lost through the cracks
I was planning to do this kind of conversion too. I want to use the stock gearbox of the motorcycle to increase top speed while still having a cheap somewhat powerful electric motor(cause powerful electric motors are expensive AF but gas prices are more expensive) so i searched youtube who else did this kind of conversion and what did they do, as of now i only found 3 with different ways of attaching the motor, including this video. Thanks for the idea, ill probably do this kind of conversion too but ill try to couple the electric motor directly to the gearbox instead of the crankshaft.
Is that timing chain is capable for tension?

all you need now, is to add casing so the oil from inside the carted won't come out and will lubricate the chain. Great Job
Bro is it practical way to use timing chain.

To keep the gears good and friction less oil is needed. What have you done for it?
भैया आप जैसे लोगों ने भारत की नैया किनारे लगा रखी है बहुत बढ़िया बहुत बढ़िया बहुत बढ़िया
Good design, but how do you managed to lubricate the clutch and gearbox whitout spread the timming chain? Maybe you are running whitout oil in the crankcase? thanks.
50km/hr = 31 mph. That is good enough for use in the city. Well done!
That's the safe speed one should ride the bike. In 4th gear the bike doesn't stop as it should beyond this 50kmph limit.
What is interesting about this mod is its simplicity. You will have a "new" electric bike in a heart bit. Think about restoring life and use for a motorcycle with a sized piston. I would take a apart the engine, remove and swap the Crankshaft with a straight rod, add the gear and a convenient flywheel to add momentum. Good luck folks.
That is excellent work, amigo! Like it a lot. Now see if you can get it to look good too! :) Perhaps shield the motor and things. Great work!
I'ved seen alot of videos about India's creativity about making own battery cells for electric innovation and admire your people for that and l dream to buy an electric car someday made from lndia.
A proper engineer with a great simple straight forward imagination well done your a great man.
hahah, look at the timing chain,it will loose easily,
बहुत अच्छे उस्ताद मेरी भगवान से यही कामना है कि आप बहुत आगे उन्नति में पहुंचे
FAB IDEA bro can you explain me that you do require engine oil to drive rest of the components smoothly and from the timing chain area there is chance of oil spill
the best thing is that he can use clutch and gears👍
Yes you are absolutely right bro
You are very talented and great imagination. good job, Lots of those old MC laying around that could be put back to use. Thanks
this is not his idea actually... and this was poor try leaving transmission and cutting piston rod he is just a loser....
how can i get the particular type of Dc motor you were making use of.
That's awesome! Thatch you for sharing! What are you using for batteries and charging system?
Probably no more vibration than when it was a piston engine given the fact that a single cylinder has a balance factor of around 50%. Nice idea. Put a proper machined shaft inplace of the crankshaft with a decent sprocket attached and it would be even better 👍
Solar wiren. Of, see chug
Yes but now there is no piston to balance and half a con-rod flailing about.
Cam chain drive is secondary it has deferent purpose in the engine. This guy should built mobile flour mill instead electric motorcycle. 😂
Super great !!! The idea connecting motor with cam chaine. Thank you.
No it's not a good idea! Trust me!
It’s not proto type it’s a bike every thing is there except petrol burning chamber all system is as original and branded, battery will also charged by old system itself only need led bulbs to reduce usage of battery and electronic horn that’s all that chain will work anyhow 5k kilometre Thankyou you rocked it man 🇮🇳💯😊

Brilliantly done!! Much respect from Arizona USA! Would love to see (& possibly hear?) more about your battery pack build & controller as well as motor controller! Great video! Subscribed! K.
Hi, it looks like he doesn't use a controller on the motor. He uses the gearbox and clutch to control the RPM
Good. Ye motor ke sath gear m chalti h ? Moter which use ? Please give me reposne
Well done I think you did a fantastic job ☺️👍
How much would the retrofit kit cost?? Can the sprocket drive be covered so as to protect the drive and the gearbox from getting dirt ??
bro its really appreciated..... I've seen something different .... brilliant idea 🙂🙂🙂...
Cool project mate. I think you should try an 80 100 brushless RC motor with a higher kv rating as the one in the video will struggle with RPMS. They're around 7000w at 36v so should be much more suitable.
good
Yamahas are always good for customisation because they make strong built bikes with well designed chasis. FZs can be easily customised because of its perfect handling and low center of gravity. Proud to be an Yamaha owner. When after 10 years petrol will be banned I will convert my FZ to electric and will use for another 10 years. Yamahas don't die. 😀
I'd still keep my fzs as ICE powered. But yeah yamaha FTW
Bhai ji mujhe bhi lagvana ct100 h mere pass me
i was thinking of the same thing and you did it great job showing me how. excellent job. Love you.
me too , but not with cam chain . but it seems work great,
What about the wet clutch? Are you still using oil inside the clutch?
WOW That is the best conversion I have ever seen. Really cool great job.
Him "how oval would you like the holes?" Me "yes"
Really great idea! But does oil come out of the cam chain hole?
Could this be done by replacing the starter motor with high RPM brushless? Then you could just remove the engine block, piston crank and balancer. I like the idea of keeping the gear box, but I don't think the timing chain is great for high tension and would be a pain to replace. Not to mention all the water and dirt getting inside the oil housing.
No. The gears are too small on a starter engine. You'd wear it out. You're better off making it a hybrid instead. You get 60km/h easy with a 50cc gy6. That's around 2500w. Add a 1000w electric engine to the bike and put the chain on the drive shaft after the CVT. That way you'd have faster acceleration, and you could either go faster without changing anything else (no big bore kit, final gear, CVT, air/fuel change), or charge the battery for the Electric engine at your normal top speed. 50cc don't drain much gas, you can charge your electric engine anywhere, and since you put the the chain on the drive shaft, your scooter will just think that it's going "down hill" until you turn it off/regenerate. And you wouldn't have to do more than install the engine, batteries and tie the accelerator to your gas pedal. Bonus: If either of your engines dies, you could just use the other one until you get home to fix it. Easy peasy. I'm wainting for my long shaft right now. I'm also getting a right swing arm and another dampener for it. Jus so it looks better.
Mr Partha I have watched so many of your videos. This particular video show how you have evolved and very neatly put together e bike! Good luck to you
Great job. Keep going. Do this for others and you have your new business and a start up...

Good idea, simple process... Upgrading cam chain is not only needed but also cannot drive in rain and cam chain opening must be closed and oil inside must be removed atleast for daily use.... Hope to find another better way to solve above issues ....
Great. However you should redesign using the space where the tank is for battery space.
You did a very nice job. If you can put some kind of shield to keep dirt out of the crankcase, it would make it very reliable. With a couple of small changes, you can make a bolt on kit to sell. 👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately dirt is everywhere in India.

knock knock! who's there? the other half of the rod you left inside the engine block....
He can't remove half a crank.
Hahahaha nice joke!
Crank? you mean connecting rod. He could have removed it through the cylinder hole in the top.
Armitage he means the other half of the rod. They don’t just come out? They’re on a pin that’s pressed into the crank webs. So the rest of the rod would be just flailing about unless he split the cases, presses the crank pin out and installs a new one with no thrust washers or bearing or rod which would be almost impossible to do while having it stay straight and not be pressed too far down
@Nimbus Nimbus not as bad as u thank. Most big end of rod is there that helps alot
Dude, awesome with . Simplest way.. kudos from a Mechanical engineer. But you need to be sound in Transmission, mechanism and conversion.
