Thank you Jen for saying don't let people make you feel bad about not making everything from scratch like almost all other channels. You are real for working moms, I don't have time to make homemade granola, bread, beans etc!
Thank you so much! ❤
True to certain extent yet the question is...does one have more time than money? A lot of the meals mentioned take minutes.
Yes, extremely realistic for us working moms! Please do a series on these
Will do!
Just a tip on the boxed pizza: mix the pizza dough in the morning and refrigerate it all day while you're gone. It has yeast in it and that needs time to rise and develop flavors. It tastes much better and gives a headstart on your dinner.
Thank you!!
This is the BEST budget haul I've seen yet. Go Jen!
Great video. This is probably where most of us are at so thank you for the realistic meal ideas.
Thank you Jen! Lots of good ideas here. Definitely will be trying them!
Those groceries would be almost $250 here in Canada! Our prices are double or triple your prices! So sad
That tuna would be $15 dollars here! And the blocks of cheese over $10 bread is like $4
@@alli2850wow even at Walmart? Crazy!
@@Jen-Chapin yep even walmart
same here in australia.
eggs are set to hit 15 dollas a dozen here
Videos like this have truly helped me budget better for those extremely tight weeks. Thank you.
This is a great realistic video. We live in a food dessert so I have to make all our food at home so I definitely appreciate quick easy meals. And sometimes I’m just tired. Life is busy! I can’t stand it when people feel the need to food shame others about how they cook or feed their families. Thank you for the ideas!
Yes!! Tater tot hotdish-the BEST. and the pizza kit was the only pizza we had growing up. SO good!! Great video. A realistic week of budget meals without the "extreme" component . Thank you!!
Hi Jen! Thank you for this video. I love shopping hauls on a budget to see how other families put meals together. I enjoyed how you budgeted everything out without the feeling that times are tight right now. I'm from NY, and I have never made tater tot casserole before. I'm going to give it a try. I love making what my KZhead friends are cooking because I feel as if I shared in the dinner with you. Is that crazy? ❤
Thanks for this video!!! Very timely and great information. You’ve never lost sight of how many people and working parents are still struggling. I was a single parent of two kids and I wish you would have had your videos then , they would have given me such great ideas!!! Even though I’m in a better place now I never forget where I came from and I see you don’t lose sight of where came from either!!! So important and such a great role model for your kids!! Keep doing what you do❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this video! Great practical meals on a budget.
Amen sister!! Make it as family friendly as your budget allows 👍
Thank you for this video! It is very helpful.
Great job Jen. This is a plan i could actually do. Great ideas for some fun food on a budget ❤
Just found your channel. I really liked your meal plan and I’m going to adopt your meal prep for like breakfast and lunch. You knocked it out of the park with your evening meals. Thank you and I immediately subscribed. Please don’t more of these. They are so helpful. ❤❤❤
SOOO HELPFUL THANK YOU
I’m from Utah and we do tater tot casserole too! Sometimes we’ll use cream of celery too. I love that you cater to us working moms because so many KZheadrs that are sahm just don’t understand the time that everything takes. We barely have time to keep things picked up- let alone an hour for dinner!
Thank you ! This is awesome
Great video Jen! Thank you!
Thanks, Jen! You are the best!
Great ideas. I love the bagged or chopped salads, I buy those for lunches all the time.
I think you did great .. a lot of meals for that price. Awesome video Jen 😊
Jen you have the best videos especially on saving money!!
Love these kind of videos!
This was a wonderful idea and I loved all of your options! As far as the Great Value brand I have to agree that most things I purchase are just great. And I love scalloped potatoes…I usually do it from scratch but I have made it from the box mix and it is surprisingly very yummy! Thanks for all of the ideas and I’d love to see you do this again.
Jen I have been watching you for four years now I have never missed a video I just love all of your videos. Thank you for all the support and the effort and the time you do and give us. Love you always and forever your true fan.
Thank you so much!
Thanks Jen! Another great haul!!
good morning Jen! great video for budget meals, really enjoyed watching!
Great video Jen!
really great video, very helpful 😊
I really enjoyed, thanks for sharing
This is a great video! A full week of meals for a reasonable amount during this inflation and not everything is cooked from scratch. I agree, who has time for that all the time. Also, I get tired of KZheadrs always talking about clearance food items. Not all of us have access to that. So I appreciate the great ideas with a regular budget.
Exactly! I never see those items at mine
@@jennyrieras431I literally never have clearance items at my stores either. Never have seen any at HyVee. Once in awhile I’ll see clearance bakery items at Walmart but that’s about it.
@@Jen-Chapin thank you!!! 😅
@@Jen-Chapin I think Christine's Fred Meyer store orderer should be fired. LOL! My Kroger never has those types of clearance items!
Thanks for the great egg idea of baking and cutting into squares to fit on muffins.
Great ideas! I've never had tater tor casserole but it looks delicious! I'm so glad you make things do simple and always make sure we know there's no shame in using convenience items!
This is the BEST extreme budget video I've seen on YT!!!
GREAT VIDEO JEN ❤️
Great content! We all need this these days. Thank you so much for spending the time to do this to help us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the meal ideas and love your earrings!!!
TY 🎉for this approachable and realistic budget meal plan. Sending love from Ontario 🇨🇦
Great video Jen.
Great job!
Love your channel , Jen!
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing your budget meals!
Thanks for watching!
I know I've said this a few times, but I love how real and genuine you are.
This is a great thing! Thank you for doing these. I do my beans in the crockpot usually. I will wash and then soak them in the crock overnight, then just season and turn it on low in the morning.
Teacher here! Saving this video for the first week back of school (especially bc my husband always puts himself in charge of making chili!)
Great video and ideas. Also love your rainbow earrings ❤
Great meal plan ❤
This came for me at the right time.
LOVE IT
Thx Jen❤
Lol not Jen saying "who has time to make scalloped potatoes on a week night" and that's exactly what I did last night 😂 Great video!! Thanks for the ideas!
I used the Chef Boyardee pizza mix for years. My kids loved it growing up. The one I bought has sauce and shaky cheese (aka grated parmesan) with it. I usually browned off some kind of ground meat with onion. And did a hamburger pizza. Sometimes I just used the packet of cheese that came with it. Other times I bought mozzarella and added it. Great video!
Fun idea. 2 ingredients Milk & frozen berries in blender creamy smoothie. My kids and I made strawberry and banana smoothies. Delicious.
I love Tater Tot Casserole! We call it Grandma’s Casserole. It is definitely a comfort food. I also prefer my tater tots crispy so I put them in the oven while I prepare the rest of the casserole to give them a jumpstart. This is definitely a doable meal plan, thank you!
Great haul! Love the earrings 🥰🥰
This was a great video! People should never overlook bags of rice or grains. Depending on your meal plan these will cook in the same amount of time it takes to make and cook everything else. Just start them first and in about 20-25 mins they are done.
This is one of the most practical Budget menus I have seen.
Thank you so much!
Hi 👋 Jen I was so excited to see another video as I can’t get enough. This was a fantastic video with so much food for $100.00. I know some people might still think it’s not a lot but wow it is, you fed your family for a week. It just shows that we can still eat cheaply and yes its not all popular brand names but it’s time to get over that. Very inspirational Jen and a lot of people could definitely put these ideas to good use. Hugs 🤗
Thank you so much ❤
Thank you so much ❤
This is a great video. Tfs
Just subbed! Awesome content lol I'm watching all of them back to back. Btw, I love your kitchen color, may I ask the name of the color?
We love the salad kits. The avocado ranch or avocado ceasar are VERY good!
Enjoyable video. I learned alot!
Great video Jen. I think you did a great job for $100 for a family of four. I spend that much just for myself. Great recipe ideas. Have a great weekend.
It is a great vidéo thanks
Great video! I like the boxed scallop potatoes too. Thanks, you gave me an idea for a side. I forgot about them lol
Finally... a shopping haul that looks more like mine. I work, and I have health issues and kids in Middle & High school. 2 days a week I work 9 hour days wothout breaks (my choice) on my feet on the cement. So u can bet I have convenience foods. God knows the last thing I have is energy to cook for hours or even 1 hour sometimes. So thank you 😊
I have to feed myself for the month for 100.00. Choices are always made. Oh and that included cleaning supplies and tp. Ive learned to make food stretch. I take away tips from you. Thank you! Example. 30 sausage patties from 2 lbs of pork and adding my own spices. Where there's a will there's a way!❤
Love that!
Great meal ideas!
Thank you!! 😊
I really appreciate you mentioned your kids breakfast preferences. I see many budget hauls where I think "no way all their kids will/can eat the same foods!"
Tater Tot casserole brings back memories of my childhood. I haven't made it in quite some time. Thanks for the recipe.
great shop and meal ideas! Tatertot casserole is a childhood favorite. I still make it once in a while, but man those macros! lol
I haven’t had tator tot casserole in for ever. I like that you added veggies to it. I grew up eating it with out veggies inside.
Oh my gosh Jen I didn't know they still made those pizza kits. I used to make those with my kids when they were younger. It taste so much better then carry out lol. I will have to look for that next time I shop. Lol. Thank you a great video as usual.❤
❤your channel!!
Just a tip, Costco has the organic string cheese, double the number of cheese sticks, for half the price. They taste fantastic (Kraft tastes like chemical filled plastic to me) and are a better deal than the bag of 8-12 at the grocery (non-organic.) Also, I picked up a bread maker at our thrift store (and see them there regularly) and it makes it very easy, just put the ingredients in, and 90 min to 3 hrs later, it’s done with no babysitting (also makes pizza dough, etc) tastes a lot better than store bread (which the decent kind is $5-7 a loaf here) freezes well, so that is a faster way to get inexpensive, healthy bread. Bread maker was $6 at thrift store.
Ohh one more thing. My favorite of this video is the breakfast sandwiches! I never thought about making the eggs that way. Brilliant!!
As a recent widow I have discovered that bag salads actually save me money as I don't end up throwing away any food
I used earnin when I was in a really tight spot a few years ago & it was awesome. Saved me from overdrawing my account and getting a bunch of fees.
We love hearing that!
Under $100 is crazy good 🎉
I feed my family of four on about $350 a month used to be $250 unfortunately I just can’t do that most the time. Do we have all the snacks nopeee but my kids have a meals and left overs pretty much every day!! Very doable you just have to put in a little effort!
Great ideas! We love making English muffin pizzas. They are cheap and filling!
I forgot about Tator tot casserole! I love that stuff! lol I'm going to make that soon!
Thanks for the breakfast sandwich idea.
Great video. Which state are you in. You are a great grocery shopper
I. used to make chili Mac all the time. It is so economical and delicious. Feeds a lot of people too. Haven’t made it in ages.
Those great value mixed chili beans are my absolute favorite. I don't make chili without them now. And it's funny, I've lived in missouri my whole life and have never heard of tater tot casserole until recently watching it on other's KZhead channels. Lol
Have u ever had chili over top the cornbread? It's delicious and my Son loves it that way 😊
lmao most of the stuff you 'budget' bought was on my default grocery list :D. Well done!
read the amount per pound.. if you look 60 eggs is cheaper then 12 or 18. 60 eggs is 5$ while the others are like 2$ 3$
Great Value is a very good brand I think.
Great video! I used to make breakfast sandwiches like that for my kids when they were in school, except I used bagels.
What temperature do you cook the eggs and for approximately how long? Good video!
I’m from MN and tater tot hot dish is a staple!!! Goulash is another staple!!! Amazing comfort food! Fun fact…in SD where I grew up pizza was a very special treat! My mom would by a pizza kit and that is all we used…no added meat or cheese…and we thought we were in heaven!😃. Have a great week!!!
We grew up on the Chef Boy r Dee pizza kits in a box. It was a treat because pizza wasn’t common like it is now. I don’t even think they sell those kits anymore. EDIT: I stand corrected! Jen found a pizza kit!
Yep homemade pizza was a treat for me as well even if we used the kits or just making the dough from scratch.
My first serious relationship was with someone from Minnesota, her mom made all kind of hot dish I adapted one of her recipes to use ground turkey and I still make it today its a tater tot hot dish but a little healthier.
That didn't take long .. within seconds another commercial from Jen,, never-ending
I like to put some potstickers over the asian salad kit for a quick lunch.
Have you ever made Gazpacho have it today because we are having a heat wave so good😊🇨🇦
I love bagged salads! I love being able to have a variety without having to spend a ton of money on all the dressings and toppings. I’m the only one in our family that eats salads so when I buy everything separately it goes bad.
Also, the chili ready tomatoes are a favorite!
