New Zealand is NOT changing its flag again, these were all proposals from back in 2016. I assume the person who did that post had outdated information.

1:09 They do in Scotland at least. The Isle of Skye and Aberdeenshire had their new flags chosen by competitions and I think more places in Scotland are going to follow. Every county in England also has gained a flag over the last 10 years and a lot of them were done via competitions. Edit: 5:18 Yep there you go

The one in the video was in Norway because it was Norway’s national day this Wednesday.
@@rs_eclipse it’s from old English scir which meant land ruled by a shire reeve or sheriff. It’s the same in Scotland and Wales.

As a kiwi, NZ should change its flag to the one with the silver fern instead of the union jack, like why still have the union jack if we're no longer a colony
The one with the silver fern with red above and blue below and stars to the right was the logo used for a paper napkin manufacturer - hope we can do better when it does eventually change

Also they were(in order without Belize, Haiti and Zambia): Niue 🇳🇺 Montserrat 🇲🇸 Guam 🇬🇺 French Southern and Antarctic Territories 🇹🇫 Turks and Caicos Islands 🇹🇨 Mayotte 🇾🇹 And the worst flag according to that post is: Wallis and Futuna 🇼🇫

0:22 The image makes it look like they wanted to change it from the current flag to the version on the right, they were actually changing from a union Jack based colonial flag to an independent flag for India. This _was_ the start of the current flag, a very early prototype. You can see a better version in Wikipedia, one with a more detailed spinning wheel. The wheel is used for hand weaving textiles, and it's there because India was the biggest exporter of clothes in the world before the British colonial rule. By 1920s, local hand woven cloth was becoming the symbol of self sufficiency and independence, and an awareness of colonial injustices.

I’ve been to Lake Sebu for vacation. They are known for their fabrics and textiles. They should’ve went on from that in terms of flag design.
Hey Jack! St Louisan here! So I personally like the St. Louis flag, but the wiggly bits are meant to symbolize the Missouri and Mississippi rivers meeting at St Louis. I hope this clears things up for you!

The reason why the St. Louis flag is *insert weird noise here* is because it is at the intersection of 2 large rivers (Mississippi and Missouri). The waviness is definitely the vibe we were going for.
