I feel that the Warden doesn’t drop anything because you’re not meant to fight it. The Warden heavily leans into a horror aspect, and that’s why it’s so powerful. The Warden was designed to scare and challenge all types of players, and force them to work around it. Going in all guns a blazing to kill the Warden defeats its purpose. So to try and sway people from fighting it, the Warden drops bad loot
I feel Mojang doesn’t really get the determination of the fans. We *will* kill it. Might as well add a reward, considering there’s already methods to cheese it.
yeah killing the warden is like the end of a horror movie
Makes sense!.
I still don't care. I'll kill it just so that it says on my statistics that I've killed a Warden
@@wh-3354 yeah but if you do try it is just going to waste your time. With enchants like swift sneak it is easier to just evade it . That is the whole point. Don't fight, evade. The bad loot is specifically to discourage you. If you fight it once and don't get any reward you won't do it again
I'm pretty sure a developer of minecraft stated that the Warden was meant to be a force of nature, and not meant to be fought. This update leans into the horror aspect, and in my opinion, is really well made. I, in fact raided an ancient city and nearly escaped death from a Warden, and it felt great. Overpowered gear can make the game feel easy during late game, I think the Warden humbles many players.
That's what makes me LOVE the warden! It has more health than the wither and ender dragon COMBINED, and it does 45 hearts of damage! And while the wither is very hard to spawn, and the ender dragon is only beatable when you go to a different fucking plane of existence! Meanwhile, the warden just crawls out of the ground when you wake em up.
The concept of something your not suppose to kill goes against minecraft's most important idea, that exploration is rewarded. The idea that dealing with a powerfull monster rewards nothing is NOT minecraft. If this was in a horror game, i would support it, in minecraft is, to quote luke, feels like a punch in the gut
@@queenofgeese fax
Minecrafts most important idea is doing what you want to do, how you want to do it, making a redstone contraption, exploring, building, all of those are core parts of minecraft, a mob you're not supposed to kill doesn't go against anything that minecraft stands for, the warden might be classed as a "boss" mob, but it's not a boss, it's a force of nature that isn't supposed to be beaten, it drops an item, it's not tecnically unique and even I think it should have been the head, but it also makes sense, nothing about the warden goes against minecraft
@@queenofgeese Bruh " that exploration is rewarded " THIS IS LITERALLY WHY YOU GET THE REWARD FROM AROUND INSTEAD OF THE WARDEN A.K.A. ANCIENT CITIES
Terraria had a very similar feature. You couldn't enter a dungeon until a certain boss was killed. If u went beyond a certain point an insta kill boss would spawn with 9999 health with you being able to do 1-3 damage to it. It was never meant to be fought, it was a force of nature, and you had to kill a boss to get rid of it. But people killed it and got nothing, so the devs put in a pet as the drop. Just a little reward for doing something that would require loads of work.
there was an old man you had to talk to to summon skeltron
@@nlsdestroyed6185 he talkin about the dungeom guardian
“The warden is not supposed to be killed” That one advancement for killing every hostile mob:
pretty sure the warden doesn’t count towards that
The warden does not count towards that for some reason but it 100% does count for HDWGH so players going for that achievement have to perform the arguably harder task of trapping and transporting the warden to get its darkness effect
Yeah the warden was not supposed to be killed the real treasures are the chest in the ancient city, like finding two god apples in one chest that's real treasure
@@ninjii1236 you can blinded by suspicious stew
Blindness and darkness are two separate effects, one with a pulsing “heartbeat” and one not. you need suspicious stew *and* a warden
Actually, the warden is blind, so, if you're in the ancient city, there are snowballs in some chests you can use to lure the warden away if it comes too close for comfort.
the snowballs was just a temporary thing, they got rid of them sadly
@@NightMareGamingHD did they just remove snowballs from the chests, or did they just remove the ability of snowballs to distract the warden?
@@rahulbansal2 i meant that the chests didnt have the snowballs however i had another look on a single player world and found another city that has a mini structure based around ice that has snowballs
@@rahulbansal2 1. Snowballs are still in chests 2. Kinda? You can throw the ball at areas for the warden to be distracted, but if you throw it to fast it will then chase you
They smells
When it comes to "defeating" the Warden, the objective is not to kill it; since it can just respawn over-and-over again. The objective is actually to get inside it's property, steal all it's stuff, and prevent the ways for it to spawn ever again.
Breaking the skulks and shriekers is the main thing you gotta prioritize in an ancient city run, at least in my opinion.
@@YaGirlLaurenMinecraft Yep, before eventually moving on to it's treasures of course.
So you cant technically kill it is what your saying
@@jellytheflower2926 Yep. But at least it can't spawn anymore so there's that.
I made an ancient city into my base.
so I've learned that if you make a system that repeatedly rings a bell with redstone and bells then the warden gets confused and you can safely loot the deep dark. it is honestly very op and I think you should try it.
bro they patch it
@@faker750 Just throw snowballs or have a automated machine which throws snowballs. If the warden can figure out what a machine throwing snowballs is vs a player, then they're being petty devs and spiting players just to be spiteful. Seems stupid. Noise is noise, if snowballs from P1's hands is a thing but not from P2's or a machine, which makes the same noise in game, then the devs are just being childish and purposely changing game mechanics to spite players... for what? To show we can't kill a mob they purposely made stupidly strong? If they don't LIKE players killing it or distracting it, just make the Warden unkillable outright. No HP. Basically set the warden in Creative mode and forget about it. Jesus lol I can't believe some devs... it's just a game, but a game that's been around forever and holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages now. It's a petty "GOTCHA You can't beat this! nananana" from the Developers and it's stupid and childish... This is the first and last time I'll even write about it. It's not worth anyone's nuisance after this video. Glad luke did one about it, I was curious lol... nonetheless-- *The devs are being childish and angry people are automating in a farming simulator...* Let that sink in.
@@aandyherr817 can’t kill it anyways, it’s not a unique mob. It will respawn. That’s not the point. If you don’t like the idea of a threat you can’t fight but only avoid. Then don’t go to an ancient city?
You can do the same thing with a piston! :D
@@aandyherr817 the idea is brilliant and unique, games don't have to be all about dopamine shot, and have a right to be scientifically realistic (in this case good loot would make your body to produce dopamine). Warden is basically a white blood cell in an organism that wants to survive and grow, and we're the intruder that disturbs an organism, that is why it calls for warden (white blood cell) and of course there would be plenty of it and it's not even a boss, it's simply an overpowered other worldly being that wants to protect its home or host or whatever, thus it would make no sense if it had anything valuable after dying. They did a good job and avoided cliche that games commonly have and there's you the consumer who complaining about problems that are not even there, instead of simply playing the game without any knowledge about the development of the game. The problems modern gamers have, is that they spoil the game before actually trying to play it and discover what game even it is, it's like watching the couple important scenes from a movie or series and get bored while watching because you know what it's all about. The idea of you as a creature is that you should mostly adapt yourself to an environment, rather than adapting the environment to yourself, in this case you not liking new mechanics in the game and talking shit about developers. I'm not good at expressing my thoughts in communication, so don't get mad for misunderstanding lol, so the thing we can depend on is intentions, so my intentions are me wanting to prove you wrong
All advancement speedruns and general goals just became A LOT harder, imagine having to get the Warden for "Monsters Hunted" AND having to get the darkness effect for "How Did We Get Here?" That's gonna be rough.
I didnt think Mojang thought of that
it's not counted for, or is necessary for the monsters hunted achievement
The Darkness effect is different, and is not counted for "How did we get here?", and the Warden is not counted for "Monsters Hunted". Atleast I think.
@@MyUsersDark I think darkness is needed but not for monster hunter
emerging from lurking to share a thing i found: the warden's weakness is iron golems. Since you can continuously heal them with iron ingots, and since the warden will stay agroed onto whatever is attacking you can literally just stand behind your golem until it kills the warden. The only flaw is that it isn't really you who kills the warden but the golem, so there's less bragging points to be had. Edit: forgot to mention that if you're ready for it, you can spawn in a golem in the time it takes for the warden to do it's emerging animation
With how strong the warden is, I’m not after bragging rights.
until.. well.. you walk in the ancient cities once again to see your defeated enemies castle/home and you activate a shrieker.. (that spawns another warden)
And how many iron ingot will it take? The warden can survive a few hit from golem and no knock back The only weay is mine out and destroy the shrieker first
either that or reroute an iron farm into the ancient city
Smart
The resistance from the beacon makes this WAY easier cause the shriek doesn't do 8 hearth but instead 6.
Having said that - Beacons only go so high- luke SHOULD BE USING TURTLE MASTER LEVEL 2, because it gives Reisistance 4 Eat a golden apple, get in prot 4 netherite, and start drinking turtle master level 2 potions- and you actaully can outlast the warden in a fight(if you're swinging at it with netherite axes and swords at sharpness 5, after having drunk a strength 2 potion - it dies in 20 hits at most, less often) Luke REALLY needs to use turtle master 2 (lvl 1 is riskier lol, and no diff from beacons which give resistance 2) not to mention, in the ancient cities, harder to set up beacons- but turtle master makes you STRONGER anyway, and people should really be trying to pull out ALL the stops, so they will always win in situations where they get cornered if it happens
Read that as shrek

idk i think the shriek isnt even that powerful since they changed it. it only did 3 hearts in no armor.
I feel that the real rewards would be from the chests in the Ancient Cities, not the Warden. The loot in the Ancient Cities is worth a lot. So sneaking around getting everything without getting caught by the Warden is its own reward. I like it because it brings out that hard survival level back into the game that has slowly been lost in other areas that would once be hard to survive. But also giving it a twist, unlike other hard levels, there is always a way to defeat something but in this case, the made it so that it feel impossible while it's not impossible to kill but it's worthless to do so.
Yeah.. we know. You are not clever.
The loot in the chests are pretty fucking standard
Not like he didnt say that in the video or anything
True, true. I like looking at it that way. Why is everybody else so mean about this comment? I mean it a good point of view expressing ones thoughts on a controversial matter.
Well most if not every person I know that plays minecraft hates him you are the minority
9:09 Block all the shreikers with woll, then break the shreikers while they are still surrounded by wool. You have 3 chances from each shreiker before the warden spwns. With this method, you can, in survival, make an ancient city safe to traverse and loot
You have 4 chances in bedrock
“Just give us head, it’s all we want” -LTN 4:20
Tip: Bring a slow falling potion in the ancient city cause when you jump with slow falling effect it won't trigger any sculk sensors Ps: This tip is only for avoiding the warden, cause if you wanna fight the warden head on you're gonna pop a lot of totems and lose the slow falling effect
For fighting it you can also bring 2 or 3 turtle master potions, the stronger kind- using that you take only .8% dmg with full prot 4. Take that and some halfway decent food and you're golden. Just make sure to not lose the turtle master bonus
why is turtle master always overlooked?
@@rumlad341 indeed, always look at the right top of your screen. Once the resistance starts fading go pop another turtle master. But do NOT accidently splash the warden cause if you do, you can only survive.

The warden isn't a boss, Mojang even said that you weren't even supposed to fight it. All it was supposed to be was something you should try to avoid while you get loot from the new area. It's more like a natural disaster, you can't really fight it so you should just avoid it. But I still think it would be cool if you killed the warden in 3000 days! Also, to be honest there probably shouldn't be anything that it drops because if there was anything that would make people want to fight it and the whole purpose of it is to avoid it.
yes but no one is actually going to avoid it thats freaking stupid
@@greenstar120 its easy to get around, it's just tedious. break all the shriekers in the ancient city and the warden cant spawn there...pretty simple tbh
THANK YOU! so many idiots thinking it should drop some absolutely insane overpowered item to give an incentive to kill it, when its literally not meant to be killed...
@@greenstar120 you'd be surprised
@@greenstar120 it is really easy to avoid it, and if you spawn it its easy to get away
tip: the warden is blind but has a strong sense of sound, meaning if you were to crouch and drop items along the way, it will follow you. Not quite sure it has a sense of smell unless its agroed.
The item you drop is "associated" with you, so the warden will become angry with you if you drop items.
Ah but there's one more trick you can have up your sleeve against the warden that you haven't accounted for... turtle master potions!
ahh yes i thought of that too but i think that might be worse cause he'll hit you a lot more
I think the warden was meant to be more of a force of nature than a “boss” There was this video by mockrock on breath of the wild and it’s Korok seed collection sidequest, even with something as innocuous as a hat, that makes the game infinitely more challenging to a collector. I do think a temporary reward like xp would be good
I highly recommend breaking the chests as you loot because when I was checking the update out, I kept finding chests I had already looted until I started breaking them. Way easier to find loot you haven't found yet.
I think that the reason it has (almost) no drops is because they wanted to make it not be something you are supposed to fight. However, fighting the warden is something crazy people have an incentive for: it is required now, due to being hostile, for the “Monsters Hunter” achievement, which is obtained by killing every hostile mob.
It isn’t by the way.
All you need to distract the Warden forever is 2 sculk sensors and a trapdoor. They perpetually activate each other indefinitely, and unless you punch it or something it’s never going to go after you, given that it’s in a controlled space
the thing the warden drops is actually pretty good because you can make a fully automatic xp farm from it. But then you can get it from chests so fighting the warden is still useless
“Fully auto xp farm” Laughs in bedrock edition
Just keep the specific item as the trophy, its not that hard.
@@wyattmurphy7153 But you can also get it from other places
@@wyattmurphy7153 thats so lame though lmao

Hi
ikr
The sculk catalyst isn't completely useless, your monster farm can easily become an xp storage room
I feel like the lore to the Warden is that the ancient builders built the cities in the skulk veins because the Warden was there. The Warden protected them from the Wither, so they worshipped it by making small statues with chests and making a huge statue of the Warden known as the city center. They viewed it as a protector, so they named it accordingly. The name “Warden” means protector. Eventually they started using the skulk as a red stone system and even sacrificed people to the Warden. But soon the population died down, and the last builder sacrificed himself to please the warden one last time. The Warden doesn’t drop anything because it shouldn’t be killed, because it’s a force of nature. It drops an item that duplicates the skulk when something dies so the skulk will live on. Of course I could go on, but That’s the just of it.
the reason the warden doesn't drop anything good is because it *isnt* a boss. it's meant to be (as described by mojang) a "natural disaster" something you're meant to get around and avoid to get loot from the ancient cities. if your good enough at being sneaky, it wont even spawn in the first place. its suppose to be something the player fears, not a challenge the player should want to face.
yea
Dropping a head isn't the same as getting an OP item, most average players that mojang intended to see the warden A: wouldn't want to fight the warden B: a head isn't exactly a crazy reward.
Yeah a lot of people don’t seem to understand that. Personally I really like the design philosophy behind the Warden because it makes it a unique threat that’s way more fun and interesting than just another boss mob.
@@Miaspeccer you see the problem is, **any** kind of special loot or Achievement turns it from a threat into a challenge. Even just a head. That's exactly what they don't want.

Running away from something and never making it kneel to your might is not what Minecraft is about, and I hope that Mojang gets that message. It even goes against the ending "poem". Minecraft is about being weak first, then overcoming and dominating your world, not about staying a whimpering coward forever about even one thing in the game. When Mojang has put nothing but things for us to overcome and bend to our will in the game since Indev, do you really think players are going to just accept that the premise of Minecraft has forever and irreversibly changed? "The warden's a natural disaster, you're not supposed to fight it. That's why it doesn't drop loot" They say as they play a game with a guardian of the ocean that wants to drag you to the depts of the abyss, a powerful dragon in a void dimension that can chip away your health in mere seconds and has special pillars to give itself more life, and a literal god of death that wants nothing but to bring destruction to the world made from dead souls and the skulls of skeletons that were burning in literal hell. But sure, an angry blind monster that shoots sonic attacks its supposed to be the natural disaster.

I think if warden dropped purely cosmetic items it would be fine. Like a trophy, as you mentioned, or maybe an enchantment on a chest plate which adds warden’s heart visually on your chest while wearing it, I dunno.
And there you said it every reason to want to kill him and the purpose of you not killing him is lost
I honestly think a warden head could make a great helmet, like a warden shaped headgear. it's just a thought that I think would be pretty cool, but it does defeat the purpose of players are not supposed to kill the warden.
Apparently killing mobs in a 9 block radius around the sculk catalyst makes it grow sculk. And dependent on what you kill, breaking the sculk drops the xp that it stores. This means you can make some farms that make sculk that you can mine, which also fixes with your mending gear. Very overpowered.
Yeah but you don’t even need to kill the warden to get a catalyst you just need to use silk touch
Luke, here is a tip. Get a bunch of god apples in ancient city, kill warden, then make a trophy surrounding its drop to make it seem cooler. Like maybe label it warden skulk/ trophy then keep it in ended chest. Maybe even place it down then surround it with boujie blocks
The strategy I found that words best for killing the warden in an ancient city is to isolate a shrieker in a good location with a high Celing. Build a WALL of WOOL blocks arround the shrieker in a big rectangle so the warden will spawn inside. Set off the shrieker and as soon as it starts to screech, fly to the highest, furthest point (namely the city center). You should be out of his range before he can even smell or hear you. Shoot him with a power V bow and arrows of harming II untill he dies. I’ve killed 8 wardens this way.
I enjoy watching all your videos. I started making minecraft content as well. I cant wait to see what else ya do!
I like to capture the warden in some survival worlds, it would be cool to see that kind of thing on your hardcore series too!
I actually had a talk with my friends on this and we came up with a (nearly) automatic way to kill the warden and it's surprisingly with a witch farm. They throw poison and instant damage/instant damage 2 so with a witch spawner you could make the warden hit one, aggro them, and get them to kill it for you. And if they die they usually take off 3/4th of the health, so shot like 7 arrows.
Or a trident killer if youre in bedrock And im not sure but i think in java you can make an automatic dripstone farm so it damages the warden while dropping into a hopper-
theres one problem with your point, the warden is considered as an undead mob. (if you didn’t know, instant damage potions heal undead mobs, and healing potions damage undead mobs)
@@DumbNub_ oh yeah thats also a point-

You would also need to make one first (witch farm) and then modify it to drop you some witches Or spawn using the dark and then nametag them And then make sure they cant fight each other But if theres multiple witches,The warden cannot go for all of them to have them to activate them. Thus proving you cant have a thought in the internet and not have someone argue about it lmao-
You get nothing after killing the warden because you're not meant to fight the warden. You're meant to immediately turn the other direction and run away when you encounter one. So the risk to reward ratio is intentionally skewed in the warden's favor. It gives all the more incentive for player to not engage the warden unless they absolutely have to.
Since when was Minecraft a game where players should only be doing "what they're meant to do"? If you make a sandbox game expect players to try everything, including killing a big enemy you recently added.

Y'know, I heard of a semi-easy way to defeat the Warden! Grab Strength II, Get the BEST POSSIBLE Enchanted Netherite Sword, stack a 3 block tall piller with the Warden on your tail, & spam as many critical hits as you can! That should award you that Sculk Catalyst! (I'd name the one I'd get a "Heart of the Warden")
I also attempted to fight the Warden on it's home turf in the Ancient Cities. I tried every method that came to mind and the best strategy I found was a combination of the best enchanted netherite armor and gear, beacon effects, golden apples, totems of undying, and crucially, potions of the turtle master. It's not a guarantee by any means, but I actually won a couple times, as opposed to getting absolutely bodied using the various other methods I tried. Plus this way, it's actually plausible in survival, so you don't have to go hunting for a handful of enchanted golden apples! I recommend playing around with this strategy if you do want the bragging rights of killing the Warden in it's metaphorical living room.
The warden just “doesn’t drop nothing” the sculk catalyst can be used to make a experience farm by using a stone gen and a mob farm you can make a huge experience farm. MumboJumbo has a video on it you should check it out.
A great man once said, "if your bed smells like fried chicken, you should probably clean out your room"
Man those phantoms look really good. Especially the red one.
Some thing that people for some reason aren't mentioning... The warden isn't actually a boss. Sure it hits harder than any other mob in the game, has an attack that ignores your shield, armor, protection, and shreds apart your soft, squishy body at range, and has the most heath out of anything in the game by far. But it's not a boss. Notice unlike the three other bosses, the ender dragon, the wither and raids, there's no boss heath bar at the top of the screen, meaning it's not a boss, it's just a pain in the ass. (Really it's just Freddy Fazbear.)

@EndGamerPlays i watched the first 20 minutes of that stream and left
A great strat to loot the cities, use your axe to destroy the chests and pick everything up, then fly over to the top of the portal and have chests on the top to sort what you want, then a hole leading to the surface incase the warden gets all the way over to you. Yet in my experience it looses my whereabouts as soon as I fly away.
theres a way to kill it in the city. you have to have a bunch of the short-time high-strength turtle pots
heavy regen and a ton of turtle pots makes you unkillable
The reason why the warden doesn't drop anything op is because killing the warden isn't rewarding, it's getting the ancient city loot without summoning the warden, which is truly what rewards u. The chests are op, somethings having 2 notch apples in a single chest.
Or even 3 Saw it in an scicraft episode
I kinda of like that the warden doesn't drop anything, everything in this game has the mentality of: Kill it! So to have a mob that's stupidly hard to kill and doesn't reward you for doing so makes a nice change to the game of having area's where stealth is your friend more than over levelled impossible gear.
yeah but everybody ignores mojang and kills him anyway ;C
See, I hate this idea for a mob for exactly this reason. Thematically and mechanically Minecraft has always been about how the player character shapes the world to their own design. Having something that’s meant to be unkillable like that is antithetical to Minecraft
@@maximillion322 Its not unkillable though is it? so its not antithetical to Minecraft it just makes you think about another way to play which is exactly as you say "shaping the world to their own design" giving you choices to stealth is more options you can shape the world with lol. This is literally the comment on every Minecraft update that people do where the new update isn't Minecraft, then years down the line its just standard and the next update isn't in line with Minecraft lol.
people have already made farm concepts for the warden that work
Bats don't have that mentality. I'd argue more people try to kill the Warden compared to random ass bats in caves. We already have a natural disaster of that fucking sound
"Im going in blind" The Warden: you are honorable for also being blind in our fight your death will be notable
The Warden drops a skulk catalyst because the Warden is almost like a last defense for the skulk (which has been confirmed to be sentient) in order to save itself. By killing it, it drops a catalyst, which can spread skulk by things dying on it. When it dies, it drops more skulk to be spread around.
I like that even though you've gotten bigger over the years the editing has always stayed simple and consistent
The point of the Warden is to avoid it. The Warden isn't a boss. It's a natural disaster, kind of like a tarasque. It's not supposed to be rewarding to kill it, it's supposed to be hard. That's it.
bro copy pasted the minecraft wiki 💀
You can easily kill a tarasque
@@someotherworldlybeing3167 You can, yes, but the only benefit is the world not dying, unless I'm forgetting something.
@@MadLadDonutAlt Yes, and?
Yeah i agree, its purpose was to be a defender not something to be hunted for sport.
a cool thing they could do with the warden head is making it shriek (just like when its blinding you) when you get an active redstone source on it i.e. dragon head moving its jaw when its connected to redstone. the idea is mostly harmless with the only exception being a couple soiled trousers from the spook.
Ok but, this thumbnail is actually amazing
Luke if you find A Ancient City during your actual hardcore world A tip is to sneak during the whole exploration since the way the Warden spawns is you making sound and if you do awaken it then Before you go mining and you finding a Ancient City and then you awakening the warden then i recommend Bringing wool, Sneaking, and bringing snowballs and eggs to distract the Warden since the Warden depends on its ears and not its nose.
Finally, we have a set time for 3000 days. I can’t wait.
More of a deadline
What's funny about your trapping idea, Luke, is that you actually *can* trap the Ender Dragon, and I remember watching an insane trap and build video where a guy made an insane ring of every known biome leading to a grand lock and cage design where he eventually trapped the ender dragon. It takes a LOT of farming, a LOT of patience and a LOT of knowledge, but it *is* doable. The Wither I think is untrappable still, since he is basically a suicidal boss.
He trapped the Wither and two wardens now.
sandiction is his name
Im clearing and looting an ancient city in my survival world and i found a pretty neat way to go around him: just destroy the screecher blocks. Pack them and other sulk sensor in wool and destroy then one by one. Light the place youve cleared with torches so you know you cleared that are and are free to run around in these spots
Keep up the great content. Can’t wait for 3000 days
Why is Minecraft such poor graphics
@@thugzfunny6236 the graphics are meant to be like that
@Unknown TV prob bait so don't bother
@@thugzfunny6236 Why are you such poor grammar?
@@thugzfunny6236 Don't worry, my friend. There are these things called shaders that you can activate on clients like badlion that makes the game look insane. That is if your PC can handle those shaders.
6:20 “Are you ready? Last chance to leave.” Random add for a vacuum
Omg im so excited for day 3000 I’ve been here since day 1 of this world
during some interview, the creators said the warden wouldn't have any good drops bc u aren't meant to fight it and they wanted to discourage players from trying as much as possible
"One little useless item" The Skulk Catalyst generates Skulk when a mob dies near it, Shriekers too. Keep in mind, they won't spawn the Warden, but they are loud and trigger Darkness, to reach "How did we get here?" Skulk Sensors are also produced, making Wireless Redstone possible. Skulk itself works like an EXP bank, which is great for, say, autofarms to kill the mobs just for their drops. With the Catalyst a layer below the Hoppers and chests, and connected to a Stone Generator, it'll be as beneficial in XP as an Enderman Farm, all while being automatic.
You can just mine it tho, you don't need to kill the Warden for it and because of that it's almost useless as he said, the reward for killing him is nothing compared to what it's used to
@@jellymatsuryuka6853 But the warden makes it farmable
@@aguyontheinternet8436 killing wardens seems like quite a complicated farm
@@totallynothatguy1698 people will still farm it, and they have.....I dont know how but they have
@@totallynothatguy1698Silentwhisperer made a tutorial on a simple Warden farm. You just need a noise machine near a few natural shriekers and a few sensors. This can be bells, doors, trapdoors, or noteblocks being constantly activated via redstone. This leads the warden into a hole where water flows him to a chamber that automatically kills him. This can be powdered snow, cactus, or the best way if your on Bedrock edition, a trident killer. Just make sure to stay 20 blocks away so he can’t use his ranged attack. Ideally, you’d want to be able to turn off the noise machine from 20 blocks away so you can safely collect the sculk catalysts. Skulk can spread very very far from one catalyst, so you may not need to make this farm. This may not work on Java because the powdered snow or cactus may be too slow to kill the warden and allow him to dig back underground and despawn, then again the noise machine might take care of that.
The reason the Warden doesn't drop anything usefull is because, mojang has said that you have to avoid it and not need to fight it. The only reason it drops a sculk catalyst as well is because of the technical minecraft players, and mojang wanted them a way to farm the sculk catalyst so they just slapped it on the warden.
I find the sculk catalyst useful bc its like taking a whole biome on your pockets and i can make My own custom deep dark biome and spook my friends and even make a spooky world for people or just experimental stuff :b
Yeah.. we know. You are not clever.
“Wanted a way to farm catalyst” yet claims that the warden is not meant to be killed lol
You aren't meant to fight the dungeon guardian in terraria yet they updated the game to have it drop something. terraria>minecraft rn especially with that banning you from multiplayer nonsense making anarchy servers moot.
@@jmw1500 YOU ARE NOT CLEVER!
3:40 The warden isn't a boss, if it was there would be a health bar for it at the top of the screen, like the wither or the ender dragon Edit: 4:00 a warden head would be cool tho Edit 2: 7:26 the warden is blind. It searches for you exclusively through sound and smell Edit 3: 7:41 Yeah, the warden has a weird hitbox XD
the warden drop can be used for xp storing because sculk blocks drop xp and the warden drop the sculk cataclyst which makes said blocks which means you can use it to store xp in a way also you can use it to get rid of sculk convertable blocks quickly
Something i recomend would using a crossbow machine gun (aka have 3-9 slots with a maxxed crossbow), with harming 2 arrows the damage is insane, just make sure you're far away
Harming 2? Are you a Bedrock player?
@@Captoad on bedrock potions are op
@@Captoad Tipped arrows don’t need to be crafted with lingering potions on Bedrock. You just have to put a potion in a cauldron and use a stack of arrows on it. On Java, you need to get dragons breath.

Woah LukeTheNotable has such epic merch. Gotta love how it's literally just shirts with his face on it.
You can use respawn anchors, end crystals, beds, tnt, and tnt minecarts to kill the warden, but if you really want to kill it with sword and bow attacks or just sword attacks you could bring some turtle master potions which reduce the amount of damage taken from attacks to a very small amount. A good example would be that the turtle master potion that gives you resistance 3 can reduce the damage of a point plank end crystal in full protection 4 netherite from 19 hearts to 7.5 and if you use the turtle master potion that gives you resistance 4 the end crystal would deal 3.5 hearts which would make the wardens attacks be very weak, but you must also keep in mind the durability of your armor because the wardens hits do a lot to armour so you might want a stack of xp bottles to mend your armor when it is low on durability. If the slowness from the turtle master potions bothers you can use speed potions to counteract it or you can use a speed 2 beacon. If you decide to fight the warden though I recommend having some sort of escape plan if something goes wrong and to be safe you could carry a few end crystals and some obsidian to blow up the warden if your low. I hope this helps you and this was an amazing video keep up the good work!
@JohnX It's not that hard to get like a few stacks of gold and trade with piglins for anchors. It's not very hard to kill a few ghasts for end crystals. The bed bombing was like if you can take it to the nether although that would be complicated. A simple tnt minecart trap or a few of them are not very hard to set up maybe it would be harder with a warden in the ancient city but you can lead it into a tnt mincart then explode it with a flame bow. All of these options (except potentially the tnt minecarts and beds) would be reasonable if you are serious about killing the warden which in this case luke would be since it is his hardcore world. Although this would basically be cheasing the warden so I don't know if he would want to do that.
3:45 That's because The Warden is not a boss, it's a Mobile obstacle that's meant to challenge a player's strategy rather than brute strength. If you ever encounter the Warden in the first place you've basically already lost the game.
I'd definitely like it if they had The Warden drop a small, unique item when killed, like it's head or maybe it's heart. Even if it doesn't serve a purpose, it would be fun to get as a tchotchke, like the dragon egg
I'd like to give you a congrats just for finding a way to naturally use the word "tchotchke" in a sentence.
I thankyou for using tchotchke and teaching me a new word today
Thing is, the Warden isn't meant to be killed, so there would be no point.
@@Some-Bad-Editor Neither is the dungeon guardian in terraria, yet they did the same thing in that game. A lot of games have this, I see no reason why the warden shouldn't have it as well.
@@spiceforspice3461 no, the devs even said, they didnt even want to give it drops at all because its supposed to be a natural disaster and give you no desire to kill it, for farming or for xp in anyway, it was supposed to be so not worth it to kill that you just would go the easy route and just avoid it, or walk around it. also minecraft isnt terraria they had been clear of the wardens purpose from the start.
Now you can trap the wither and dragon. Would love to see you do it. But the dragon takes a while. Your choice, love your vids keep ‘em up
Next level editing
The warden drops nothing because you’re not supposed to fight it. It’s not a boss, you’re supposed to be scared of it. The warden is literally designed to be fun and scary to avoid.
Yeah.. we know. You are not clever.
Luke,if your gonna try trapping the warden in your tower, trap a witch in the same room (behind a wall do that the warden doesn't kill it) since Witches can use healing potions to outheal the warden forever. The warden will only be focused on the witch and not you.
Finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary!
What if instead of an epic drop he drops a rare enchantment for a bow? Ex-The wardens heart(that glowing beating heart in its chest) drops rarely but gives you the ability of its sonic attack (heavy piercing or area affect from flying arrows). But dosnt stack with multi or infinity. But your right either way. The skulk blocks kinda a lame drop. The head would have been better. Or a head piece attachment for ascetic(ie horns attach to helmet)
In my experience, calling the warden a beta really helps
3:25 as kingbdogs (creator of warden) said he does not want it to drop anything because the warden is something to avoid not fight and he did not want to encourage it
while what the warden drops isn't the best, its drop can be used for a couple useful things such as the automatic exp farm that Mumbo Jumbo made, which could be very useful if you need exp.
Here’s a thought👀 big project, build a giant enclosure around the ruins and have the warden in there. Could be cool?
Luke... They said from the start that the warden was not supporsed to be killed nor intended as a boss. It's ment as a nuisance. It is hard to kill and there is going to be a lot if you're not careful.
"Finally, a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!"
I feel like a drop that would be neat for the Warden would be an upgraded bow which could have pin-point accuracy like the Warden's sonic scream beam.
To op a head or heart would do
love the vids and humour Luke keep it up :)
