This cat was dumped outside a few weeks ago, and very scared - so putting him in a carrier was not an option. It's often safer to trap a cat in this case to prevent scaring them further.

You can tell that he was someone’s cat before
@@debraberg4513 yeah. Poor baby. Wonder if he was abandoned, or if he got lost or what

A friendly stray can be adopted out once assessed and neutered and vaccinated. This cat looks beautiful, and looks like a friendly stray rather than a feral cat. Big clue that he's been hanging out at the friendly woman's door, waiting or meals. It means she became a primary source for food and safety, and he seems familiar with humans. Also, he doesn't look like he's in bad shape. A quick rescue off the streets is a very good deal, less trauma for the cat.
Yup!!
Unlikely most cats will be put down because morons like this guy don’t leave them alone
my cat it half wildcat half housecat and he had been abused before. seeing this makes me happy cuz i hope for em to find a happy forever home without having to worry about food and water :)
Yeah that cat seems somewhat acclimated to people. I trapped two young ferals a couple months ago and have been domesticating them. They're coming along, one let's me give scratches and will eat out of my hand, the other still just watches me quietly but with zero aggression. When I first got them, they had had virtually no human contact and it showed.
He will be put to sleep if no one adopts him soon how is that better

I’m so glad you got this handsome cat!!

Trap, Neuter, return in action. Or adoption instead of return if he's ready.
Or don't have him outside where he can harm wildlife. No.

Is a “skittish cat” a “skitty”? 🤔😍🥰
yes 🙌

Well, it is now!
That would be a Pokémon
Adopting strays is the way to go with cats. My cat was a stray initially, he lived on our street and seemed a little skittish but curious. We started feeding him and slowly he let us start petting him. Eventually he came into the house and after about a year he was a regular. We took him to the vet for some shots and he's now been a member of the family for 4 years.
Same with our cat but unfortunately our neighbors got her as a kitten and just left her outside after she was out of her “cute kitten” stage 🤦♀️ one day they are packing up to move and my mom asks what are they planning to do with the cat? They said they can’t catch her so they were just going to leave her. My mom said well just give us the food you have for her and we’ll take care of her till you can figure out how to get her. They didn’t have any because they weren’t even feeding her! My mom made them go to the store to buy food, of course they bought the cheapest dry food they could find and never came back for her. Shes now a 20 something year old kitty who’s living comfortably inside. Her beds taken over our back bathroom because she loves the heating vent during the winter 😂 took a couple years to get her to trust anyone but I’m sure she appreciated not having to catch lizards and birds as her food source anymore. She’s a very sweet old lady now and I’m glad they didn’t come back to grab her because we wouldn’t have given her back anyways.
Im finally getting a kitten of my own hes from an ethical breeder though since hes considered an exotic. But for now i take care of several neighborhood ferals.
I love how the cat took a break to clean itself under the car 😂
Thank you for not leaving it in the can. The lip is very sharp and my vet tech SIL told me that cats come in all the time with severed tongues.
I hope you gave him a great home and plenty of hugs 🤗
I found my cat when I was 11. She was a stray and very skittish. So I chased her and grabbed her but luckily she was chill and didn’t bite. Got her some food and now we’re best friends ten years later.

Poor kitty, life is about to get so much better for you. I had to do this to trap a cat with an injured leg. The leg was amputated and the wee cat lived for another seven years at our house, being fussed over and loving every minute - after getting used to the fact that being on your own has its downsides and that the people in the house are really quite okay.
How? Likely he will be put to sleep
@@HeyhitmeBAM because this dude's probably part of a TNR (trap, neuter, release) program. They just get them neutered and release them back to where they came from, unless the cat is one that can potentially be adopted out.
They are going to cut his balls off and throw him back on the street to starve and pocket the rest of all donation money from videos like this because it's considered more humane than full scale extermination
I know it’s to help them, but I always get so sad when I see a kitty get trapped 😢 They’re so spooked :( I even get sad when I have to take my cat to the vet in his carrier, because he always has such a little scared meow. I’m glad this kitty might be getting the help they need, though

It makes me so happy to hear about people like you and your neighbor caring for the strays left behind and ignored by everyone else 💖 these cats are so lucky that they have not one but TWO people in the same neighborhood looking out for them
We are feeding 3 cats outside people dropped them off. We trapped one but every Shelter was completely filled up with cats and dogs. We already have 3 cats that we rescued. So we're feeding them and making them boxes to keep them safe for the winter season.

I tried to be friendly to a stray cat and as soon as it was getting comfortable, I sneezed one day and scared the crap out of it. Never saw the little buddy again 😢
Thank you so much for caring❤❤❤
Love this!
I use patience and get cats comfortable with me lil over a month. Every day when I feed them I get closer and closer to earn trust. When I can be close I just sit there a few times then i would gently pet them while eating. Next few days they are highly curious and see me and what I’m doing. I also live on a farm so there’s nowhere the kittens can go so I got em to be tame. So much so that my dad can just walk up to em and pet em.
Love the irony of SUDDENLY trapping a cat in order to save its life. Hope he gets a good home 😊
It's so heart wrenching when the trap goes off and the cat panics. Even though it is for the better.
Love your plants. They look so healthy.
Love when sajas talks about wrestling. Hope you can make some more content on it in the future
I actually trapped a small feral cat using my home. I was feeding her on my back porch and I had already ordered a live trap but it was taking forever to arrive. So I basically opened the sliding patio door just enough for her to get inside. Each night, I would move her food further inside until finally, I decided she was far enough inside that I could quickly but quietly close the door and have her inside. I must point out that I recorded everything and saved quite a few videos of my little Precious and her amazing transformation from terrified feral to mostly content house cat. Thank you for these tips ❤
TNR is amazing work. thank you for this

I had a cat I called Scraggels, really matted on his back, it was pulling so hard on his skin that it was bleeding. After capture and cleaning him up, he turn into the best buddy in the world.
I found a stray kitten on Halloween this year, brought him home, he was the sweetest little guy. He had the purest pur, and was the best cuddled ever, I miss him, we named Him Boo cuz we found him on halloween
It took me a long time to trap my cat. Behind my place of work, there was a cat who didn’t trust anyone, she was scared. She had recently had kittens but her kittens were taken from her after they were all taken to the vet for check ups and her to be spayed. Then her kittens were adopted out and the mama back on the street. I tried to give her comfort bc I could tell she was sad and had trust issues. I gave her food every morning and every night. She eventually only trusted me and let me pet her. But when it was time for me to trap her so I could adopt her, she was untrusting again bc she knew what the cage meant. So, one day, I just sat there for a long time without a cage, food next to me. she eventually came to me and cuddled with me. Then let me hold her and shortly after let me pick her up. I just carried her home. Sometimes it just takes time and trust. ❤ now she has a home and is best friends with my dog.
Boy this brings back memories I used to do trap noodle release with a team of nurses. Blessed anybody that helped this thrown away cats
OMG those plants are so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have an indoor cat, but have been feeding 2 strays for over 2 years. They've been neutered/spayed and had their ears clipped to indicate they are fixed. It's called a Spay/Neuter/Release program. They are friendly and allow me to pet them. I can't adopt them because I would be charged $50 a month for pet "rent" and also my cat is older and would have a very hard time dealing with anyone moving in on her territory. Wish I could find someone to adopt them. The local animal shelter is not interested in helping me get them a new home.
So am I assuming this nice young man is going to keep the kitty and take care of it?
The other cat was looking at him like bro you good?
‘Scared cat gets even more fucking scared’
I am happy to see other people doing the same thing! You can do it without the trap it just takes a long time to do it btw (and yes we do it without the trap).
I live in an apartment complex, before I moved here I guess a tenant that lived here just abandoned 4 cats. They’ve been seen as the community cats I guess in the complex, when I moved here, I made sure they have meals regularly every day with freshwater. I noticed before I started feeding them regularly people would just sit out cans of tuna fish or chunks of chicken meat in cans. No water.. so they won’t let you pet them, but I actually did pet a few of them a few times they get near me the most out of everybody but of course they won’t let me pick them up. Anyway, this is my dilemma. I live in Virginia, last winter, it was below 20. The cats are healthy they’re fixed. I’m making sure they eat every single day have freshwater all day, I’m just worried about the winter coming up. They’re happy I don’t want to take them out of there environment. They really are happy I can tell because they’re always rubbing up against each other their siblings they’re rolling around in the grass on the parking lot they act happy. I just don’t want them to freeze to death. I don’t know what to do. I was thinking about getting a cat tent, that’s waterproof that has a heated bed inside. I would have to get permission from the apartment complex owner though, he might not let me.
Bro caught a wild Pokemon
The cat looking at him was like “damn, wtf, whyd he do my boi like that?”

That cat's reaction to the trap is the same as my reaction to opening Pillsbury things.
The cat when the cage closed: WAIT, god dammit my mom's gonna kill me. Oh no, it's going dark too. . . Noooooo
obviously not for trapping purposes, but, I love seeing people put food out for animals, hate not seeing them put water down as well. Sucks being thirsty! Thank you for doing what you're doing! Much love

He _knows_ traps. This boy has punched that dance ticket previously
When I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s we had a cat that we would put food out for and eventually she was just our cat and she knew that she was our cat. She was an outdoor cat and she was fine.
My cat was dumped in a graveyard by her previous owners (the sick fuck). My mom's friend found her and treated her, and my mom convinced her to let us take her in. Her name is Bella and we've had her for just over a year now. Before she was skin and bones, had flees and other shit, and was skittish as all hell. Now she's fattened up, has no illnesses, and is the nicest thing ever (when she wants to be anyway)
There was a friendly stray I had found in my trash. To make sure he was friendly I just let him sniff me and he was my homie afterwards. After a week of getting him 100% to trust me I just picked him up and took him in for almost a year. A sibling let him out by accident and now he doesn't want back in so I just kept him be. He does visit regularly and never leaves unless there's a territorial dispute.
You do such great work
