    • I just got a 1997 chaser tourer V jzx100 80mm turbo from factory and the five speed manual all original from the manufacturer an full interior package. 82k miles and one owner an garage kept in Japan never seeing snow or salt

    • @@leviorourke7498 That's amazing man. Mine was also garage kept in Japan and only 1 owner. Mine is 115,000kms (~71500miles). Also a Tourer V with full Aero Kit, R34 GTR Wheels, Tein Flex Z coilovers, TRD front Strut Brace etc. Only downside is that it's auto, but I love it. I believe it has a shift kit too for the trans.

    • I just got a 1997 jzx100 that is a bit beat up but I'm slowly restoring it. It wasn't smoked it so that's nice. Interior is in pretty good shape but I need to fix the dashboard or get a new one as where the defrost vent is it's peeling back. I've got a new set of door cards on the way, a few trim pieces, HKS Coils. It's got a bunch of TRD parts already on it, TRD wheels but they're beat up so I wanna get those restored. Mine has 237000km has a r154 and 1jzgte vvti. It needs a full paint restoration, the bay paint matched and cleared, and dry ice blast everything.

    • Dw fam just get an avante or a grande 3.0 model. Cheaper and easier to upgrade. Some of them came factory equipped with a 2jzge from the mk4 supra and smaller diff. Im sure some of those is300's came equipped with an LSD. The chaser is the IS300's daddy; some parts can swap over. let your mind run wild with that info.

    • Techically it was discontinued, there is no chaser name anymore. The mark 2, Cresta and Chaser were all discontinued and their replacement was branded the Mark X. Even if it's got the same code, it doesn't have the name.

  • Hey, James! Great video about one of Japan's best sedans. I remember seeing one in Japan and the owner was blown away that I wanted to ride in his car. Luckily, he romped on it and that single turbo 1J was... Yeah, it was like being in a 2JZ Supra. Fast and I enjoyed it. The R33, GT-R was a better car. Back to the Chaser though. There's people building up Cressida cars in the USA like their Japanese counter parts. Same with the old Crowns. Thankfully, Toyota classic RWD cars have a large following in the USA. As, one day I plan to build another one of these cars. Thank you, Donut Media and team. (:

  • I learned about the Chaser back around 2008 when i got a game called Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 for the ps2. I fell in love with the car and wodnered why I never saw it in person.

  • i once ran over a what I thought was an abandoned chaser with my toyota tundra, which is an excellent candidate for one of these "up to speed" videos. It wasn't until much later, two winters after, I learned the car was inhabited by someone I knew as a child. He had moved long ago for forgotten reasons and I hadn't actually had thought of him in a nascent way since boyhood. Then suddenly I found myself learning of his tragedy and my complicity of it over a very brief run in with an acquaintance at a christmas party.

  • After X100 was the X110 Verossa. The top spec model got the drivetrain of JZX100. Later Verossa and Mark II would merge as Mark X and continue till December of 2019. Verossa is a decent forgotten drift car. 1JZ+FR.
