Building a PC comes to us reasonably quickly at Linus Media Group, but we can't forget that everyone doesn't get the opportunity to make a PC every week. So NZXT created the BLD kit as it guides newcomers and families on how to build a PC for the first time! Hopefully, Sarah doesn't give it the shakes this time.
Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

    • Hp builds pcs. so does Asus, acer, lenovo and so on and so on. But there has never been a private person who 'built' a pc. asssembling and building are two different things. Engineering a laptop from scratch is 'building a computer' All end users do is assemble 6 parts that only go together the right way. Not much building about it. It does make you sound smart to stupid people tho..

  • It's interesting to me how she uses different parts for reference. More experienced builder goes for notches, edges, holes or something like that, but she goes for stickers, labels and shapes. That's why it's always important to get your product hands on to somebody who doesn't have a clue. I saw it many times as a developer with UI I created, different users used it differently from me and from each other. It's a wonderful source of improvement ideas.

    @mikiqex@mikiqex2 жыл бұрын
    • 100%. Users may approach the build differently. In this case, it really makes sense with Sarah being a graphic designer. She looks for design choices to match. I think that'll be one of the challenges for these kits moving forward. NZXT will need to make sure the manual stays up to date as new hardware becomes available. These build kits are really cool and lowers the barrier for entry.

Just no thought tap icon and eveything works, so it's nice to actually get a little more in depth. It's also weird how many people still act like building a PC is still some sort of rocket science, it's basicly LEGO but even simpler since every component and cable has an easily identifiable slot on the motherboard. The most time consuming part is as always cable management and waiting for windows to update. The only bad thing about it right now are the horrible GPU prices.

    • For building a PC it's generally difficult to put something where it'd cause harm anyway. Like it's made difficult for even intentional incorrect setups to cause any damage. could plug the GPU power into the CPU power plugs but only a poor quality PSU should make that cause damage as good quality won't power on when there a short to ground, mobo power will only accept the mobo power connector and ram can only be inserted the correct way. Worse you can likely do is a suboptimal setup. No dual channel ram, GPU in a slower slot and such. Noob friendly takes out the frustration for new builders. But, the only expected risks are really just using a underpowered PSU and having that being pushed too hard. Though those should also just shutdown before any damage occurs. Anything else will usually just result in suboptimal performance, or not booting up. No hardware damage though.

The store really is an integral part of the content and the hires so those people working on merch and the other machinery behind the scenes are equally important. Ultimately it's a team and being likeable on camera isn't the only important job. As the social media coordinator if you didn't like Madison it would be difficult to imagine how she could be good at her job. But if you are an incredible designer bringing the best products to LTT store you don't need to be good on camera at all to be a great hire, neither would someone in accounts.
