RF guy here! I am late to the party but I'll demystify the antenna orientation. Antenna Interference: All mid to high end routers use multiple frequency bands (2.4G, 5G, etc), and each antenna will operate on a different frequency than the other (there are dozens of non-overlapping frequencies). Thus, they will not interfere with one another. Antenna Angle: Each antenna has a beam pattern that looks like a donut radiating out from the stick (disregard high-end beam-forming routers for now). If want max coverage on one floor, keeping them vertical is ideal so the donut beam radiates in all directions parallel with the floor. The specific use case for tilting them is if you have a specific area on a different floor where you want a stronger signal. You would tilt the antenna so that the donut shape intersects with the area you're trying to strengthen, sacrificing some strength on the main floor. If you have a router with beam forming you don't physically need to angle them to strengthen the signal. the router will electronically angle the radiated beam towards the device that connects to it.
Man, I really can't get over how good that opening graphic is. The team did an absurdly good job on it!

@@leeroyjenkins0 Also gaming headsets just don't get them, there are better options, hifiman he-x4 or he400i or sennheiser 560s for almost the same price as some expensive one's.
@@SaddySkull any mic recommendations?
@@hashishiriya Get used music stuff as alex said so maybe look for mic and amp for it online but if poor look for blue snowball ice as that's a decent mic.
@@leeroyjenkins0 kind of disagree, enterprise routers are generally quite a bit more expensive and have features you're never going to use and need to properly understand to use. Enterprise laptops are also a different focus. You need to compare products and see what suits your needs, agreed though that one should just ignore gaming branding, but most don't know better, that's why successful.
Everyone: RGB = More Fps Alex an intellectual: RGB killed my pc :(
Alex as an engineer RGB killed my PC let me desolder the RGB out. Wait he did not do that what kind of engineer is he? Disappointed.
What if the real reason is that he got so many extra frames it started causing stability issues
On the Wifi antenna I did a lot of testing in my tiny apartment and confirm that having the antennas straight up on a TPlink router / Wifi access point is the best when using iPerf.
I have the same case from Alex's broken build. The Corsair Carbide Air. Love it
"Two trained enuchs" Well, that's a quote I've never expect to comment on.
I thought he said "Two trained Unix". LOL
@@surferdude4487 He did, this man has a really bad listening ._.
i heard that too lol
@@wilduwu5987 two trained Unix doesn't make any sense though, while enuchs does.
Ahh, do they really need them? Linus does have kids already.
"If you're only good at the game with one specific controller, you're not really good at the game." The fighting game community would like a word with you Linus.
Smash bros players had never seen such bullshit. Said while clutching a custom gamecube controller.

I actually had to use my B450 boards bios flashback when updating the bios for 3rd gen Ryzen. Never thought it would come in handy but almost bricked my system during the update and without that tiny button I would have been screwed.
Those Secret Lab chairs are great. We've had them at Red Bull Gaming Sphere - London for ages.

Right
That Mighty Car Mods poster!! Always knew Alex had great taste!

"don't get gaming stuff for audio" YES somebody give this man a kiss
I gave him a kiss for you 😩🥴
I used to buy gaming headsets and recently switched to a gaming headset from a audio company and its brilliant its a bit expensive but the sound is something diffrent
Pro tip, don't get any "gaming" hardware
Me: Buy Skullcandy headphones
@「 Deadpoppin 」 Lmao, just get some $150 DT770s or something, they'll last you like 20 years
Was looking forward to this one, Alex has always been my fav LMG staffer. He's so competent and chill- like the "fixer" dude in the mafia movies you'd go to if someone had a messy murder scene they needed cleaned up.
He's like Sir Alfred in Batman
nah I dont see it, he looks like the average cringey redditor such as you roflmao.
@Mike oh...
I knew he was the practical guy when his home set up looked like a mess. If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk say about a man.

Yes antennas spread spectrum in RF waves... it's not a directional "arrow" you point at other rooms nor devices. Antennas have "polarity" and the best farthest signal is when Antennas 'matches' the orientation of the transmitters Good call Linus!
8:19 "This is gonna suck" No, it definitely blows
LOL
Alex: Oooo That looks scary Linus: Don't even trip dawg
4:58 this is actually great advice. I have a pair of budget studio headphones and the sound quality is leagues ahead of any 'gaming' headphones for the same price.

There was a moment when I had a Windows XP PC with like 5 drives plugged, 3 of which were IDE - 2x80gb and one 20 gb one, there also was an 80 gb WD SATA drive and a 500gb Samsung HD502HJ that is still used on the PC I am writing this comment from. I had a very low tier gaming PC and started upgrading parts slowly over the years, that was about 6 years ago. The very first thing I bought for it was the case, a Corsair Vengeance C70. My friends laughed at me for upgrading the case first because I had a low tier micro ATX board with an i5 3330 in it. 6 years later I am very happy I got that case for ~$60 USD back then. It's discontinued and the one I have is in pristine condition. It has 6 drives in it. That and my 710+, best purchases ever.
